Fourth of all, there is VERY large parking lot for the bicycles. Fifth and not the least, it has SURFSIDE BEACH SHACK. This beach is understandably busy; not to worry, they have a lifeguard on duty. How lucky are the houses whose backyards are right on this beach?!

This is the calmest and shallowest water and is perfect for a sunset over glassy water. A walk or drive through the dunes onto the beach really make you feel like you're on a private and far off beach. Just look at my photos and you'll get an idea. There is parking off the road so you can walk to the beach, or take the sand road with your car onto the beach.

There are lifeguards at chairs 1 and also the main part of the beach which is around chair 7. It can get busy but we were able to find a spot to lay all our stuff out. Waves are strong and crash near shore. It's hard to use a boogie board due to this. My family enjoyed playing in the waves without a board.

This public beach allows gorgeous sunrise views, lots of shells for foraging and the most quiet and peaceful view I have found on the island. I'd recommend going early in the morning on your bike and catching the sunrise - the activity of the sandpipers and other birds is quite a treat to see. Or come when the tide is coming in - the sounds of the slight waves is better than any white noise machine. This is covered in rocks and shells - so don't expect to bring a towel to lay down on. It's also a great place to watch the boats go in and out.

Falmouth Heights Beach is lovely with soft golden sand. Many families enjoy fun moment on the waters off Falmouth Sound. We love walking on the beach, watching the joggers, the swimmers, boaters, sailors...It is also a dog friendly beach which we Love. Get out if you can and enjoy. Life is good! Life is a beach.

It's only 30 minute parking, but honestly, how much time do you need? It was very beautiful, but man what a walk up and down to the beach. There are portapottys, and they are not clean. Overall, it's a must do, but not a lot to do there.

Perched on a bluff overlooking the water, it's a great spot for pictures and great scenery. This old light house was established 1808, had a deep maritime history. The lighthouse is still active and maintained by the U.S. Coast Guard. Though it's only open to the public one day a week--Wednesdays from 1:00 to 3:30 PM--the trip is worth planning for. Theres a short presentation about the lighthouse's history and even take a tour up into the tower. A word of caution: the steps are narrow and steep, and the final ascent into the lamp room involves climbing a near-vertical 90-degree ladder. If you're in search of a nice Cape Cod experience, Chatham Lighthouse is worth the visit.
