Probably one of the worst to-go / customer service experiences I've ever had at any restaurant. I place an order via madslicepizza.com. I arrive, pick up, then take home (right across the street). The pizza is wrong. I ordered a triple pepperoni pizza that, get this, has zero pepperoni on it. A careless mistake, ok. So I walk back across the street to return and wait for a correct order. After a short wait, I get a correct order to me and return home again. For this second attempt, the same incorrect pizza just had pepperoni thrown on it and put back in the oven, a re-fire. Complete BS. The pepperoni that was added to the now 15 minute old pizza was not even crisped in the oven, it was merely warmed up. Extremely frustrated, I return to Mad Slice for what is now a third time. I explain and present the pizza to the first server that helped me initially (the second server I dealt with was the only personable employee that I spoke with). She says nothing, and walks away. What appears to be a cook comes from the back, takes my receipt, and begins work at the kiosk. The entire time, not a word is said. Zero communication was elicited from the two employees that "assisted" me for my refund. He hands me a receipt with the refund (which did not include the $4.00 tip that I left, so I paid them to waste my time and money). I then explain that not one employee has said a word to me regarding this refund, and how poor their customer service has been throughout this entire situation. Whoever was/is "running" Mad Slice during today's shift needs to relieved of their title for the better of the establishment, which desperately needs professional management team members to train the rude, lifeless floor staff.
I've been to Mad Slice at least a dozen times since they recently opened, and they lack what seems to be basic restaurant management skills. And I say this with confidence as I have close to fifteen years of Restaurant Management experience just in the city of Little Rock. They've been open two months now, offering online ordering through their website, but today is the first time that it has been functional for me when ordering. And look at the cluster it created for their staff, three botched attempts for just one pizza. Talk about a clueless staff. Which brings me to another point, who is in charge at this restaurant? The times that I have dined-in, I've never once seen a member of management, much less anyone, who is concerned at all about the well-being of the patrons within their establishment, or even their employees. The staff is miserably out of touch with today's restaurant environment. They're either too timid to communicate with patrons, or they just don't care. Either way, this falls on the obvious lack of professional management within Mad Slice.
And I can't help but mention the absurd prices of certain menu items. $12 for 6 chicken wings, that's $2 for a single bite of chicken. $8 for a side salad, completely out of touch.
Every time I return, I wonder why I even did, then realize that the only reason I do return is simply because it is right across the street. I miss Iriana's so darn much... read more
