Great shop! Would DEFINITELY recommend…read more I've gotten a total of SIX [1 nose ($? it was back in 2007...), 1 conch ($42), and 4 lobe ($20)] piercings here, and have been happy with my experience and the results every time! The negative reviews of this place are ridiculous -- the staff is absolutely professional and precise. Sure, they aren't going to roll out the red carpet and offer you sparkling water upon entry, but c'mon people, it's a tattoo shop, not a day spa. All I care about is cleanliness and precision. They deliver. The last time I came for piercings they were quite busy (5 other customers there, with only 2 artists on staff), but they gave me the paperwork to fill out and let me know there'd be a little wait time -- which was fine because I just walked in off the street. After a short wait, Hailey (sorry, no idea if this is spelled correctly) escorted me down the hallway to a very clean, almost clinical, private room and talked with me about what I wanted, what type of jewelry I ultimately wanted to wear, and placement. Up until I was sitting in the room, my husband kept asking why I didn't "just go to Claire's" for a piercing, and then it became apparent. Firstly, they take the time to be exact with placement. Too often I've seen people with misaligned or wonky placement for piercings -- not here! The guide marks were expertly placed (and I'm usually a stickler for that sorta thing), even, symmetrical, and didn't need a single millimeter of shift. Secondly, they use individual sterile hollow needles for each piercing, so there's no risk of contamination or incomplete piercing (like you'd get with those shoddy guns at Claire's *cringe*). Thirdly, they only use individually wrapped, sterile surgical steel jewelry -- which is fabulous because I am allergic to nickel (and cheap crappy Claire's jewelry that's been dropped on the mall floor by 10-year-olds all day) -- and I had options for style. But their professional hygiene practices weren't the only benefit of coming here: my piercer worked with gentle and assertive hands. She made casual and pleasant conversation that made me forget that they were even busy. Within just a few minutes we were done and she began reviewing aftercare. I was given a very detailed handout on cleaning, reviewed making saline disinfectant rinse (1/4 t sea salt and 1c water), and was encouraged to return for help switching out the jewelry. Side note: I noticed that another commenter failed to follow these instructions (or even to attempt a simple Google search for the do's and don't's aftercare), so don't mind them. This place knows what they're doing. At the end of the day, I am extremely satisfied with my experiences at Body Art Tattoo, and will return again. Maybe for a tattoo next time? ;)

Tattoos were good--had some bumpy lines--but the real problem I have is with their pricing. Me and…read morea friend got 2, 2x2 butterfly tattoos. Over the phone and through email, the most expensive they said I would pay was $120. We both paid $150-total of $300. There is bruising and we will most likely develop keloid scars. Also, a woman named Asia was rude when answering questions and had no common decency--we overheard the shop talking about us when we were sitting in their waiting area, mocking our lack of knowledge and their own incompetence. Talking about "they should have scheduled a consult" well then you should have recommended that. The tattoo artist--Asia--added shading to our tattoos which she charged us more for, and didn't even ask us. No thank you--never again.

I was debating posting this, because the tattoo itself is fine. I do like it…read more And he was friendly during tattooing afterwards. But it's been bugging me. But it took almost an hour of arguing and fixing it to how I had already asked in the initial booking email to get to that point. I do not recommend going to Aartistic Inc in Winooski. I thought I was going to a tattoo ARTIST that would at least take the 2 seconds to read what his client wanted, not a tattoo copyist who just wanted to copy paste someone else's tattoo. I sent multiple reference photos (3) and explained what I wanted out of each photo prior to being booked, but when we arrived he basically was like "just pick one of the references and I'll copy it exactly". He even used the words "I'm not interested." I would have walked out if I didn't really want to get a tattoo on that exact day (our 11 year anniversary). Even with copying, he couldn't even at least be bothered to move one of the parts to the spot I had asked. (The sword being through the crown instead of the crown being above it) Until after being rude about it and me having to point it out in the email in front of his face that I in fact, did ask for that. He had papers printed of the wrong thing, I asked why they were like that and he had an attitude and was like "because that's how YOU asked for them" I just said "uh, no." And he went and pulled up my emails on a big tv screen and still tried to argue with me by pointing to my references I sent. I literally walked up to the screen and read off what I had asked for while pointing to it with my finger. He STILL CONTINUED to argued it because I sent the reference pictures and he "just goes by what picture I send". I said "well I didn't know you were just going to not read my email and just copy a reference image exactly." He said "that's what we do here." lol ok then say that and deny the booking, don't accept custom work if you don't do that. As soon as we walked in the door he had an attitude and was acting like we were a bother to him. Next time don't accept work if you don't want to do it? Every other tattoo I have I didn't have this experience. My thigh tattoo, the artist spent 5 hours drawing for me before tattooing it. And this dude couldn't even be bothered to read one sentence and copy paste one part.

Not quite 4 months in and parts have nearly disappeared. Went with a friend whose is even…read moreworse...she asked for her money back and they said "No refunds, we give 90 days for touch ups." WE DONT EVEN LIVE IN VERMONT!! How about you employ able artists so you don't have to worry about fixing their problems for 3 months? (Artistic only did the words in the pic)

So many bad experiences with this shop, the folks are personable for the most part but when it…read morecomes to tattooing, I'm not sure how it's possible to have the outcome with them so many times that I have. The last appointment I had with Tony he ended an hour early for no reason and left the horrible mandala tattoo cover up just how it is now. He pressured me to start that day after the stencil he drew was nothing near the reference photo I gave and he got really mad and said if he draws it again and I don't like it he's not tattooing me today. This was in talks way in advance so there's no reason he should have been doing stencil same day, nor speaking to a client that way. I should have never returned for more ink because this is the mess I was left with. Absolutely wreckages they gave me not art. On your skin forever, make a better choice. Instead of doing the right thing and trying to fix anything they put a restraining order on me after I went in and asked for the paper you sign before being tattooed and Ericka asked if I was going to try and sue Tony. Because, she knew he left me with these horrible quality tattoos that are hard to cover and did not work with me whatsoever to fix what he did. Ericka did the vampire bat and it turned out horrible as you see. I was supposed to have an appt for her to fix it but that was nyxed when Tony decided he got himself too far in deep giving me bad ink that he wouldn't fix it. Tony should have a high level of experience and does. But obviously lacks in many categories. The lines above the crest moon (chest tattoo) I kept asking him to straighten the lines and they kept ending up how they are now so eventually I just said that's fine- The alchemy tattoo was done twice and is still not solid. Really- choose a better shop and don't end up in this position.
