We postponed two times, and Chef Deanna was incredibly accommodating throughout it all. In fact -- she supported our decision to postpone (even the second time!) when so many people questioned why we were doing it. Postponing twice was absolutely the right decision, and we had our dream wedding on 4/9/22 of this year. Chef Deanna worked with us to create a menu that was rustic and aligned with our tastes/personalities. We did a barbecue buffet for the main course -- with macaroni and cheese, multiple types of meat, cornbread, etc. -- and a more classic cocktail hour with charcuterie/cheese etc. Everything was delicious. My only regret is that I didn't go up for seconds! In ADDITION to that, Chef Deanna provided her gorgeous vintage plates that were a perfect fit with our venue. Planning a wedding is stressful enough, but working with this caterer made the process significantly more difficult. Communication was one of the biggest issues. We often waited weeks for responses to simple questions, making it incredibly frustrating to plan such an important event. We were initially quoted one price, but as the wedding approached, our final invoice increased by thousands of dollars due to service fees that were never clearly disclosed during the planning process. When we questioned these charges, we were told the additional service fee was necessary to ensure that everyone's food would be served promptly and at the proper temperature. They told us if we did not pay the fee, then we not have good service at the wedding. Ironically, I was the bride, served first, and my own meal was served cold. If the additional fee was truly intended to guarantee hot, timely service, it clearly did not accomplish that. I can only wonder what the experience was like for many of our guests. To make matters worse, vendor meals for their own staff were never included on our invoice before the wedding, so I figured they were included in the outrageous service fee increase, but that was not the case. After the wedding, we were unexpectedly billed an additional amount for their team's meals, which came as a complete surprise. The lack of communication, hidden costs, and poor execution left us incredibly disappointed. A wedding is one of the biggest days of your life, and you should be able to trust your vendors to be transparent, responsive, and professional. Unfortunately, that was not our experience. I would strongly recommend working with another caterer. There are plenty of vendors who communicate honestly, provide transparent pricing, and deliver the level of service you expect for such an important occasion. We deeply regret choosing this one.
