I would give them 0 stars if I could. I had signed up for the Combo first timers/conceal carry class and drove all the way out to the Largo location to find out it was cancelled. The said they could not reach me because they had the wrong phone number. Um...you also had my email address. They gave me a phone number to text in order to reschedule. That person has been very non-responsive and was not helpful at all in rescheduling the class. These guys may know their guns but not how to treat their customers. I have since requested a refund but have not heard back yet. Stay tuned! read more

Just took the basic hand gun safety class as I never handled a gun before. The class was very comprehensive and covered all the basics. It was followed up by time at the range where I could put into practice what was taught in the class. The instructor, Lawrence Downing, was very patient and made time to guide each of the 4 of us in the class so that we practiced safely with the correct form and handling of the gun and worked on improving our accuracy in hitting the target. GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!! I spent $160 on a class just for ladies to better my knowledge of firearms. I got the date wrong and missed my class. I spoke to several associates that told me I should stop in and the manager would probably allow me to take the next class. WRONG. I stopped in and the manager told me to pay the $160 AGAIN if I wanted to take the next class. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. The class still went on. My absence cost them no money. The fact that I wasn't allowed to make up the class says they only care about the money. I will go somewhere else to take a class. read more

The Full Monty class (conceal carry & beginner handgun) was EXCELLENT. The instructor, Dan, is all over it. Super qualified and a very, very good instructor. Just knowing all about a subject doesn't, in my opinion and experience, necessarily make someone a great instructor. But Dan is a great instructor. He really broke things down, made sure every single student in the class understood every single thing, and drilled us individually so we could actually DO the things we were learning about. I went from zero to being able to do this. There was also an assistant instructor, whose name I don't remember, but he was also extremely qualified and extremely helpful. I learned about this place when Julian Blitz took over the Wild Bunch, a female gun club. When I picked up my SW Bodyguard .380 following adjustments at the shop, I noticed bags of ammo on a lower shelf. I asked the price and if they were right for my gun. I was told "yes" and purchased. Off to target practice a few days later, I realized they were 9mm! I took them and receipt to the next club meeting and gave to Julian. Instead of issuing a check, she mailed a gift card. I returned the card promptly and asked for a refund as I have no intention of doing business here. She was very unpleasant when I became ill at the shooting range, and months later my money has not been returned. read more

We can't say enough good about Mad Dog Armory. The owners Shad & Jillian Biltz are great people with high business standards and it shows in all of their employees. Being in business for over 40 years we tend to look at and notice more things than others may. From the very first time we walked in the door we were treated like their only customer by their extremely educated, helpful and patient staff. This was impressive due to the fact that they were very busy, as always. We were steered not only to the items that we were looking for but also to ones that really fit our personal needs best. The service buying the pistol was very good and helpful. As really being a first time owner of a weapon, I signed up for the Full Monty. I was expecting to learn about safety and proper handling of the weapon. They started the class with conceal carry, after that I was asked to leave for being unsafe with my weapon which was not loaded as requested for the class. For $199, I really didn't learn anything, I'm still as clueless as I was in the beginning. Next time I will take beginners class separate. read more
