What really makes it stand out is the instructors. They're working actors--people with real experience in the industry--and you feel that in every class. The approach they use? I like to call it "Stanislavski on steroids." They've developed their own method, and as someone who's trained in traditional Stanislavski, I can tell you it's faster, sharper, and incredibly efficient. If you're serious about honing your craft, give this place a shot--you won't be disappointed. Every one from the staff to the fellow class mates are so welcoming. Acting class is expensive, many of us invest in it to grow as an artist to help our careers and hopefully make a living doing it. Many of us are struggling and work several jobs to make ends meet. I received a huge opportunity to go and read for a series regular role, it happened to land on Andrew's first day of class. Instead of being supportive and accommodating to move my start date to the next session, he threatened to keep my full deposit with no possible refund. I had to make a choice. I wish he didn't make choose. I've moved onto other wonderful acting studios and I'm a working actor now. None of these other studios have tried to put their class over my career. It's been years but I wanted to come back and share my experience because it really scarred me back when I was starting out and taking a chance on my first acting class.

I love love love Andrew, his teaching style, everything. After taking tons of acting classes from all kinds of teachers, I would bucket Andrew's class into the category of "Foundational". This doesn't mean his class is for beginners -- far from it. I'd actually say his classes are for those who are serious about the craft of acting and want to grow and deepen their relationship with themselves as an actor. There are a lot of classes that are geared toward specific acting niches. Meisner, comedy, commercials, auditioning, etc. Personally, I don't find classes that focus on one methodology (like Meisner) to be helpful, because they make you take a specific avenue to get an end result. I don't think you ever get in tune with who YOU are as an actor when you're going this route. It's always about the methodology, which can be kind of culty. Specific classes for things like comedy or auditioning for tv/film are great, but they aren't foundational. They're skillsets you need if you want to be a working actor in LA, but those classes won't make you a great actor, and they won't get you more in touch with who you are as a human, which is so needed for this craft! Andrew's class focuses on the core principles of becoming a fine actor. If you are a beginner, you are in the right place. If, like me, you've been in 20 different classes with different teachers, and you don't even know what to do with a script anymore because your technique styles are all jumbled up in your brain, you'll leave this class with clarity AND inspiration. Andrew's class is going to get you really comfortable with a script and a scene partner and YOURSELF. In my opinion, we are our own biggest obstacles in becoming great actors, and Andrew's style of teaching will bring you home to YOU while simplifying your becoming and unfolding of finding the actor within.

I wish I came here sooner! A few months ago, I had taken tons of Voice Over and Commercial specific…read moreclasses but was chomping at the bit to take a solid on camera acting class. Everyone I asked for recommendations, from casting directors to agents to actors, ALL recommended Lesly Kahn. But I was still hesitant - it seemed too good to be true. So I signed up for intro courses and free audits all over town to scope out which acting studio I connected with the most. After taking the intro class with Lesly herself, I immediately knew I had found my home. The other studios couldn't hold a candle to her. At other studios all they did was talk about themselves for 2 hours and then look at your resume and tell you what class to take. If you didn't have any TV credits, they immediately shoved you in the beginning class without ever actually seeing you act. But not Lesly! In her intro class you get on your feet and perform a scene with her coaching you. She doesn't just judge you based on your resume. She sees your potential. I loved her studio, her style, her energy, her mind, everything! After the intro I immediately signed up for the Comedy Intensive with Tyler. I truly loved every minute of the Intensive and rehearsing with my fellow actors (the class is 3 Saturdays in a row but you are encouraged to rehearse every day for 3 hours). Tyler is so incredibly smart, talented, and specific in his coaching. He expects everyone to bring their A game, and when you truly put in the work, it shows! At the end of the 3 weeks, I felt like my acting had traveled light years. I am ready to go out now and slay every audition with confidence and specificity! Can't wait to continue my journey with Lesly Kahn!

She is a teacher that loves the art of acting, is a director herself with multiple feature films under her belt, has worked with accomplished actors, and has also worked as an actor herself. She sees all sides of the craft which allows her to understand actors more deeply and their process. She is patient and kind, but knows when to push you through your weaknesses. In addition, her students are loyal and her turnover rate is extremely low. Most of the people I met when I started her class are still in her class. This is a testament to her teaching and the safe space she creates in her class for you to experiment and push boundaries in your performances. It definitely is a class where the more you put in, the more you get out. If you come to class willing to learn and expand, take direction, and LISTEN, you will grow very quickly as an actor.
