Somehow, Connected..........., {Twine, Wall Fashion In Furniture Dept.}

Pleasantly different to shop here. Macy's has levels 4 and 5 all to themselves here. Nice selection of medium-end designer duds and accessories- typical of Macy's. I would've liked my first stop to be at their shoe and bag department- but I kept it moving real quick to furniture. (I can't recall- the person's name so for now, she'll be referred as 'She'). I was on a mission and a pleasant sales representative directed me to their Furniture Department. She took the lead and got the ball rolling in helping me with my purchase. She had the charisma and greatest patience for all my endless questions in terms of color, size and fabric. Her shift came to an end, and Jack took over; where he efficiently, finalized our purchase and made arrangements for the couch to be delivered in a timely fashion. Again, no complaints from Jack. Customer service here, was excellent and nothing, like I would've received in White Plains (or in Yonkers' Cross County Center). Folks here, had a genuine smile and a will to assist. I was digging that! Their furniture department is not huge in any way, but has a nice selection of different wood types, funky end tables, leather and micro-fiber couches, cool dresser solutions, rustic dining furniture and unique, decorative accessories, that I haven't seen (in Macy's at The Galleria!). Macy's furniture selection rotates seasonally, so expect to find a nice mix in variety. All I know is, if I want my home to sparkle in a different and unique way, this will be part of my other, home decorating destinations.

You won't find me that much in Macy's, what ever they sell here I get elsewhere. But occasionally I will walk in and look for some deals... and again I succeeded to safe some money, and not by switching to Geico...

This is the type of service consistent with this location. Employees creating a hazardous mess while customers are shopping.

The selection could be better. I prefer shopping online most times because they have a better selection and it seems to be cheaper there. For example, items on the clearance rack in stores (that can't be used with coupons) I've found cheaper online (and can be combined with coupons). The main disappointment with this specific location are the staff, who are rude and unhelpful. Each time I've gone I have encountered service that was below par (not just from my own standards but compared to service from other Macy's locations). My most recent trip I went to the children's section and there was an employee (a tall man in a suit with glasses should anyone encounter him), rummaging through the racks. I don't mind an employee doing their job while customers shop. I do mind when they throw empty hangers on the floor and make a mess, potentially creating a hazard for someone to trip and fall. The employee was completely lacking in awareness that people (including children) are around and can get hurt. Either that or he just didn't care.

Watch your step at the entrance on Broad Street. The paver area looks like a bomb hit.

For my senior prom, I went here to get my tuxedo and I wanted it to be perfect. To ensure I got everything right, I asked Mr.Zemo if I could try on a couple different jackets and shirts. Every single time I asked for a new one, he groaned and acted like it was so physically taxing to take a jacket off the rack. Isn't that your job? Why should you make the customer feel badly for wanting to try on other options? At one point he even said to me, "the faster you try on the jacket the faster you get out of my store". Dude, I understand acting a bit offensive as part of a gag, but Mr.Zemo continuously crossed the line as it got to a point where I genuinely felt like he didn't want my business. I kept my composure throughout the entire experience which was hard because he was getting on my nerves, and I made sure I was respectful, but I was just interrupted with "WHAT?" Or some other bitterness. The quality of the tux itself was good, aside from some broken buttons on the shirt sleeve. In my opinion, I just regret giving this business my money because Mr. Zemo does NOT deserve it. Go to someone who is kind and willing to help rather than an old man who complains at every given opportunity.

Darien sport shop seems to have survived the online revolution with help from, you guessed it Santa…read moreClaus. Every year Santa comes and kids line up from across the country to sit on his lap and tell them what they want. In Darien, that could be a new Canada goose jacket (available at DSS) or a new pair of Nordic skis (available at DSS). Maybe even a new Range Rover (not available but DSS can order it). And for the adults who brave the intense December line to catch a glimpse of the big guy, they setup a makeshift bar (no charge of course) with Bloody Mary's, Mimosas, Beer, Wine, all the fixings. Back to Santa, did I mention this guy is the real deal? He claims that he runs a bird seed shop in the off season, lol. Yea Kringle, I ain't buying it. Or they OVER buy on a trend from the 2000's....There's no variety. There's nothing that makes this place worth a visit. Most of the staff is just as uninspiring. They offer a halfhearted greeting when you walk in, but beyond that, they're completely disengaged--mostly standing around with their arms crossed, looking like they'd rather be anywhere else. Which makes sense because they barely make minimum wage, which is concerning considering how much the owner walks away with year after year. I probably wouldn't be inspired to help customers either. It's pretty obvious that the owner of this store couldn't care less about their employees--or their customers, for that matter. Unless you're looking for outdated clothes and indifferent service, I'd recommend shopping elsewhere. Go shop at the family owned business Richard's in Greenwich much better selection, happy employees and OWNERS!
