I used to love shopping in this MACY's until the Douglaston store closed and all the shoppers from Queens starting coming here. It is so crowded and dirty now. There is a mess in each department and the sales associates are not all very helpful. The bathrooms are always filthy and smell awful. I love this Macy's. They have very quality of clothes here. They teen section has such amazing clothes. They also have a great women section. The men selection is also very good. The shoe department has a big selection of shoes different sizes. They have nice selection for kitchen ,bedroom, sunglasses, makeup and bags. They all types of designer items. The sales here are excellent. The always are having coupons. The parking lot here is huge. They have even have a Starbucks. The people who are helpful and friendly. I haven't been to Macy's for some serious clothes shopping in about 8 months so when I went last week to what was once the best Plus Size clothing and saw it was one third the size I was shocked. A few days prior to that, I went to the Macy's in Roosevelt Field and thought it was some sort of fluke but coming to the Macy's in Manhasset, I realized that with all their store closings and downsizing, my once beloved department was affected too. I don't know who is doing their buying but I found it appalling that they didn't have one shirt suitable for business attire unless you wanted to purchase a high-priced Ralph Lauren shirt. I don't know about other departments but Plus Size clothing is big business and there are plenty of us Plus Sized customers. I am heartbroken. Also, only because other people have mentioned it, the sales staff in the make-up department is horrible. They just don't want to help you and yes, the MAC girls are the worst. read more

Best MAC I've been to by far. I've immediately felt comfortable and happy with the way they assisted me and helped me buy my lipsticks & eye shadows. I had my make up done by Nikita and was very impressed. She made me feel calm and she was very friendly & patient through it all. Why do all the cashiers move like sloths? No sense of urgency whatsoever. No awareness of informing customers that other registers are open. I waited on a line for 30 mins with a women who kept pulling out one item after another to do returns and get a discount. Why are you chatting it up with this person when the line has quadrupled? At least call for assistance. I finally asked if there were other registers was told of two, both which had equally long lines with one sloth cashier as well. This is the WORST TIME to come, only one person and they are SLOW. Finally found another register and she seemed equally clueless about the concept of one. Worst customer service ever ! I came here to return a pair of shoes and everyone seemed to make themselves busy or just walk away when I tryed to approached them ... I stood behide a lady while she was checking out thinking it was the line when the cashier was done with her she just walked away when I said excuse me she ignored me someone else came to the register I asked if they could help me he said "who was helping you before?" This place is the worst! Too bad it's not closing (as part of the recent announcement that several of their stores are closing). The staff are RUDE, INEPT, and downright MEAN. After a particularly bad interaction with a clerk last year (she refused to help me by removing a security tag that her coworker had left on which forced me to return to the store). I had proof of purchase and was walking with a cane after a recent injury and she mocked and berated me. When I later complained to store management they never even returned my call. If you like to be insulted and treated poorly while spending your hard earned money go ahead and shop there. If not, stay away and shop elsewhere. read more

This has always been my absolute favorite Macy's. As of late however, my feelings have changed. As I leave Macy's tonight I am feeling extremely sad about how far down hill the customer service has gone. As my 3rd visit in a row that I was mistreated by staff who were down right rude to me. Being a long time customer of this specific Macy's and my family and I spend a great deal of money here I am disheartened. For instance today I was looking for gifts for my best friends birthday. The ladies in the fragrance department were very nice and helpful, I purchased a gift set for myself. I browsed around for a while not knowing what to buy. I came to the decision to buy a very nice Movado watch that my best friend would truly have loved. I politely asked the nearest sales woman behind a jewelry counter for assistance saying "would you mind if I could please see a watch" word for word, only to be greeted with so much disdain. She literally sucked her teeth at me and told me there was noone around. (She was around) so I responded, "so I can not purchase the watch?" To which she reluctantly got up and rolled her eyes. At this point I've had enough so I simply asked her name, which she refused to give me saying "what do you need my name for, I'm getting you your watch." No thank you. I know working retail isn't always easy, I work too, just like the rest of the world, there's just no reason to treat people this way, let alone people spending a decent amount of money where you work, whether you own the business or not. It's just not right. Yes this woman caused Macy's to loose a sale this evening, which I do realize is petty in the grand scheme of things, but it's honestly just unfair to leave clients who've favored someplace uneasy and unhappy. read more

This is for the "Impulse Beauty" makeup open section. Wow!!!! Run, do not walk to this location! The makeup artists are talented, knowledgable, patient and extremely helpful! This Christmas, my boyfriend wanted to surprise me with some of my favorite makeup items and went here. Esther, one of their makeup artists, assisted him patiently in picking out the perfect gifts for me! I've since been back several times and go straight to Esther! She not only is professional and very talented, but also very warm, friendly and patient. I have never felt rushed or pressured to buy anything. In fact, due to the superior service I receive from her, I always want to buy more and keep coming back! An added perk of fantastic staff, is the wonderful array of products. Brands like Tarte, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Urban Decay, Smashbox and many more make this a go-to makeup shop. They have replaced Sephora for me! read more

First, No matter who I asked, NOBODY knew where to send me......on the first floor they sent me to the second. I was greeted very nicely! Happy Thanksgiving....welcome to Macys ...How can i help you....bla bla bla.....When I ask for warm pants..... sales person replied: Oh, they are scattered all around" Meaning , look by yourself.. We looked through all the pants: SUCH A DISAPPOINTMENT! NO WOOL PANTS AS SO EVER! and its 30 degrees outside! on this weather you sell an enormous amount of pants: %65 acrylic and 35 cotton! ARE YOU KITTING ME?!!! I Then my husband called me, who was on the first floor" darling check the designer Style in.....I asked and African -American Macy's employee in glasses.....She pretended for a while that she does not understand my English.....even though I said it very clear....and I never have problems people understanding me ! I am a public school teacher for 15 years!!!....then she said: Ah.....stlyle in....Its there...she pointed to the right and didnt move to show where it is! I picked up a bridal gown without being allowed to try it on. Three days before I picked it up i had my final fitting. Only half of the hem on the bottom of the dress was complete. I tripped on the dress while walking during the trial. The seems tress told me " oh that's fine I will have it ready in three days". Three days later when I went to pick up my dress I wanted to try it on and the staff there told me I couldn't try it on because it was already stuffed. The seamstress was there too t the time of pickup. And I asked her if she finished the hem and she said it's all ready for me, "don't worry". On my wedding day I fell down the stairs coming from my bridal suite. And I kept tripping all night. I am pregnant by the way. Demetrios salon could have killed my unborn child. When I got up from falling, everyone around me noticed my dress wasn't hemmed on one side. I had to hold it all night. I paid $500 for my dress to be hemmed. She stole $500 from me! read more

I've been shopping in Macys Manhasset for a few years now since the store is free-standing and not attached to a mall. I love it and usually shop at the MAC counter. (REVIEW OF BRIDAL SALON) I went bridesmaid shopping on Feb. 2nd with my ladies. We were on a limited budget and so we began our day at David's Bridal in Garden City. After an hour of trying on dresses that were OK, but most of which did not come in the color we needed. And after getting annoyed with having to pull the dresses myself for my bridesmaids and clipping them to fit MYSELF, we went to another dress store. Eventually, we landed at Macy's Bridal in Manhasset, NY. I only was aware of the 34st location in Manhattan, and was excited to have a location in LI. We walked in without an appointment and were serviced right away by Cathiana. There was so much selection and variety in style, look and price! Not to mention, they had the color we needed (which is navy blue). We were give two nice-sized dressing rooms and Cathiana helped us every step of the way. My bridesmaids fell in love with the same dress and we ordered it. We also received a 15% discount because there was a trunk show that day. The discount is locked in so WHEN we come back and order the matching ties, vests, etc. for the men in the exact color brand/match we still get the 15% off. So, if you're in LI dress shopping and looking for inexpensive, but quality bridesmaid dresses... Macy's Bridal is professional and efficient. read more

Do not shop here. Shop somewhere else. My wife purchased two Clarins lotions at the Flushing, NY location without knowing that I've already made the purchase online during the same day. After we found out that we made the duplicated purchase and we decided to return the extra pair of the lotions that my wife purchased to our nearest location in Manhasset, NY. First time we walked in to the store and we encountered this sales representative called Sheza Syed, she informed us that we need to go back to Flushing store to return it without even took a look at what is inside of our bag and saying that we have to return to where we purchased it. We went back to our car and searched the return policy online and it is totally different from what this representative had told us. According to Macy's return policy states online that we can return the merchandise at any Macy's store location as long as it is not final sale items. Ok, we headed back to the store for the second time and give her that we found this information on Macy's site and she has no right to refuse to return the purchase. This time she started calling so-called upper management and acted she was doing the return. In the return process, now is bringing up another story saying the gifts we have inside the bag is incorrect and started to refuse to return again. If the gift offers are different between stores, I do understand if she had told us on the first time and we would've gone back to flushing store to return it. However, she did not even open my bag and refused to return the purchase the first time we walked in the store. I strongly felt that we were being treated unfairly just because we are Asians. read more

I won't be returning. I went in yesterday to return an online purchase, I literally had just received the items by delivery an hour before walking into the store. There were two separate purchases, a bunch of too big tank tops (I tried on one, didn't bother to open the rest bc they were all the same brand) still in the plastic wrap etc and the other separate purchase was a bikini bottom that I did not bother to try on bc the color was wrong. The tank tops get return, and this rude employee (didn't acknowledge me, even when I said hi how are you, she didn't even look up!) she gets up to the 2nd return and she tells me it's worn and she's not returning it?!?!?But screams it!! And causes a scene!! I was so embarrassed, I would never do such a thing!!! And I JUST RECEIVED THE ITEMS RIGHT BEFORE WALKING IN!!! I EVEN SHOWED HER THE TRACKING INFORMATION!!!! that IT WAS LITERALLY JUST DELIVERED !!!!! I asked to speak to a manager and apparently there was no one available!!! Another employee comes over and says it's fine and returns it! I don't know names but honestly im done w this place! That's not how you treat customers esp when it clearly says it was just delivered to my residence!! I didn't even bother to exchange the tank tops like planned for a smaller size bc I was so disgusted! read more

Really poor service. Often, you can go up to a counter or section of clothes with no service person to help, answer questions or help ring customers up. This store needs to invest in more service people and training of existing service representatives. read more

I'm usually a fan of the MAC counter here However, the last time i was there was two weeks ago on a Saturday when i made an appt for a makeover. There were only two MAC reps there and they were both with customers. I stood there for 10 min at the register, both reps saw me and kept on working with not even a hi how are you we will be with you in a few minutes. I understood they were busy and didn't say a word and kept waiting. One rep was done and proceeded to get cosmetics together for her customer she was working with and past me by the register 3 times in front of my face and not one word was said to me of I'm so sorry well be right with you or anything, literally like i was invisible. A little customer service goes a very long way. If they had a line it would've made more sense of why i was ignored, there were literally myself, the 2 reps and 2 customers there, which one was finishing up. I am always a patient person because i know how busy they can get, but the lack of customer respect really disgusted me. I could not believe that both reps saw me standing there and even one passing me 3 times right in front of my face and not one word... I have never experienced this before here at Manhasset and i was very disheartened. They only spoke with me when i finally had to walk up to one rep and say hi I have an appt and i will like to cancel it, then she took the time to walk up to the register to cancel my name out of the book and said "sorry to hear that"...smh why did it take for me to walk up to you and cancel my appt for you to acknowledge me????.. Needless to say i had to go to one of the other counters who took me right away, which was not what i wanted but did not want to deal with those reps after that experience. read more

When measuring me for a bridesmaid dress, the saleswoman said I was between two sizes, a 6 and an 8. Looking at my measurements and the chart myself, it was clear I fell into the 6 category. I said, "I'll go with the 6. Thanks." When they drew up the paperwork, I didn't realize that they had changed it to an 8. When I arrived to pick up my dress, I was shocked to see the size 8, and no surprise, the dress is swimming on me. I asked if there was anything they could do, but of course they said no, and with less than a month before the wedding, I have no other choice but to spend a ton of extra cash on drastic alterations. They assumed I was doing the alterations there. Clearly, this must be a tactic they use to gain extra sales/commissions in alterations. They were shocked when I said I had an outside tailor I would be using. Their "error" will now cost me an extra $100+. Sad and disillusioned that Macy's condones this unethical practice. read more
