This place is pretty mediocre. Ordered pulled pork, which is apparently what they're known for, and it was probably the most mediocre BBQ pulled pork I've had in a long time. Went with a team of work folks and this place was highly recommend. We had the nicest young women serving us, quick to get us drinks and made sure we were all happy at dinner. We went with the large meal players they had to share. The food was just ok in my opinion bit the ribs were terrible. Way over cooked and super dry. Made a comment about it to the staff and they had nothing to respond to it, nothing. Sides were ok and I have to say if this is the best around. I am going to stick with TX or St Louis BBQ. Took my husband here after some Christmas shopping. It wasn't that busy as we thought. It took some time to get our orders in since there was only one bartender. Poor guy. We've been to a few Mac's Speed Shops around town, but this location is closest to us. They all have their own vibe. The one at Concord Mills is more of a family restaurant. It's huge and can accommodate a lot of people. We have always had great service. The staff is well trained and friendly. I would say the service is not super fast though. Not an issue with the Waite staff, but definitely back of house, kitchen. BUT, having said that, our food was DELICIOUS!!! Everyone's food came out as ordered. So really no complaints because we were there to kick back and enjoy our time together so we were not in a hurry. read more

I visited here for a work dinner. One of my coworkers made reservations for our group of 10. They were already seated when I entered. I can't think of our waiter's name but he did an awesome job serving our table. My coworkers were raving about the Mac and cheese so I had to try it. I ordered Hush Puppies and the fried catfish meal with Mac and cheese and sweet potato fries. It came with toast. The Hush Puppies come in a large shareable size. I shared with the table and still had leftovers. I was surprised that for $17.50, the catfish meal only came in one piece. I asked for it to be fried hard and it was perfect! My coworkers waited for me to take a bite of Mac and cheese and it was delicious! The sweet potatoes are waffle fries and they were average. I'd revisit and I recommend this place. We visited Mac's during our pass-through of the Concord/Kannapolis area this past summer. Mainly, we chose here due to the hours fitting with our travel schedule. We were very impressed! The ambiance was awesome, and the outdoor patio is dog friendly. Our waiter was knowledgeable and friendly, helping us choose since we had never been. All of the food was superb. We were in the area and decided to stop in for a couple of beers and some dinner. Overall vibe is very similar to the other locations, but this location appears to be a bit more modern and slightly larger than the other locations. There is a nice patio for outdoor seating. As with the other locations the service was good. Our server was friendly and attentive, and made sure our glasses were never empty. The menu is the same as the other Mac's locations; pulled pork, beef brisket, bbq/hot wings, and a wide variety of sides (I think they have the best Collard Greens of any local BBQ spots). They have great fried pickles as well. Mac's used to be known for good BBQ and an extensive beer list, but lately I have noticed that the beer menu is uninspired and lacking the attention it used to get across all of the locations I have visited. The beer menu , both on tap and in bottles is a shell of its former self... I am not sure if each location sets their own beer menu, or if there is someone in charge of all locations, but the selection has suffered. I have visited three locations in the last month and it has been consistent across all three of them. I took my team out for lunch for appreciation week. The staff was very nice and accommodating of a party of eight. Overall, the food was good. I really enjoyed the nachos. We got pork and chicken. Our experience started out a little flaky. We were going to sit outside but it was to cold. We came inside was seated at the booth. No one came to take our order for about 10 minutes. Then a waitress came to take our drink order but she disappeared. Stated she had to get orders from outside. I believe they were short handed. Luckily they had a great bartender that was paying attention to detail. The bartender came over took our drink order, got our drinks quickly, then came back and took our food order. We were on our way home from spending several hours at IKEA. My Man had recently went to the Greensboro location and he really enjoyed the food! We gave this location a try. We were impressed! Mylan, our waiter, lit up like a Christmas Tree when I asked him what he suggested. With a large smile, he told me all about the Buffalo Chicken Wrap! The wrap comes jam packed with juicy chicken. They put it back on the grill so the wrap is hot and golden brown. With all the sauces sitting right at the table, I was able to try a squirt, or two or five squirts, of each sauce! That was my favorite part! My man had a burger and fries. I stole a few fries to try the sauces smothered! NOTE: my mouth is watering (actually gushing) just thinking about all those sauces! Anywhere that has great wings AND lets me get all flats without a hassle is my kinda place! This was our first time at this location and it's huge! I honestly can't wait to check it out during the summer because their outside seating looks nice, even on this sub 32 degree night. Kristinn (sp?) took good care of us and honored our request to keep things speedy because we were in a hurry. I kept it simple tonight and got dry rub wings (all flats, of course) and tots. The dry rub had a surprising hint of sweet but it wasn't overbearing. The wings were smoked to perfection. I even got a bonus wing making my order of six turn into seven. I was nice and let the hubby have the extra one. The only reason I cannot go with a five star rating is that my tater tots were cold. We decided to try Mac's for the first time for lunch. We're not big BBQ fans but were completely surprised at how good the food was. We were seated immediately, the server was friendly and attentive AND our food came out quickly. I ordered Mac's Nachos. I wish there was more queso on them but I loved the VTX (bbq) sauce that came on them. My mom and sister each ordered burgers. My sister in law really liked the chicken tender sandwich. I have been a regular at Mac's for at least 4 years and I'm really not sure why. I've had several subpar experiences. They get our order wrong a lot. The food is never incredible but it's always decent. I've a couple of rude servers at the concord mills location. Once I was scolded by the hostess for not checking in first when I tried to walk to the bar area. The last time I went to concord they gave my friend the wrong burger 3 times before they finally brought the right one out. It was pretty crazy. They gave me the wrong salad but I just went with it. I love their Mac n cheese!! I also love their mimosas except went they put ice in it which they do sometimes. Memorial Day 2025Concord you let me down!! First I called my order in while in Texas a day before today. It was not last minute however my food looked like I got the last, end of the day meat. My brisket was dry except 2 pieces. My ribs were tough and every slab the ends were burned and tough so cut. I called to speak with a manager as I would just wanted to replace the meat. I love MAC's on South BLVD but Concord was closer. I see closer is not always best. I was left on hold 3 different times after explaining the reason for my call. I live too far to have taken the chance to come back so I ended using serving the meat. I spent $182 to have extra food for my family because I'm having surgery May 29 and this is what my family chose to eat on. 4 slabs of ribs, brisket and Mac and Cheese. Concord: I have to say: I'm very disappointed. I had a 12:00 pick up and was excited to receive my text it was ready early-only to be let down. Sorry I'm going.m to have to take the extra ride to who has been A1 from Day 1=South Blvd!!!South Blvd, I'll see you all soon!!! To improve: Have the hostess get management for some type of resolution: I never asked for refund and didn't want one; I just wanted to replace the meat. No option was provided, just held the line. I really enjoyed Macs especially the wings and the hushpuppies. I learned that the hushpuppies which are only $1 are so worth it and the proceeds go to charity. I would not have known about this of it weren't for our amazing server Emily. As for the ambiance the place was relatively empty. My group said that it was some of the best bbq they've had in a while. Everything was delicious. Only complaint I had was they gave me white meat instead of dark but they fixed any mistake quickly and effectively. It is just a bbq joint nothing fancy but a great place to stop for a meal. I don't know where I've been, but I'm over here all the time and literally just realized this Mac's had opened. I ordered takeout, but decided to go for a healthier option today. So no bbq, just a Caesar salad w/cedar plank salmon. Wrong move. I probably should have ordered the bbq. The container of salad I received contained lots of brown romaine. I picked that out, not a huge deal. Just when I tossed the dressing on my salad and went to add the salmon, I cut it in half only to see that the salmon was completely raw in the middle. Raw. I was thankful that I was at home and not out and about. I was able to pop the salmon in the oven to finish cooking it, but how disappointing. read more

We were watching the Rose Bowl at the time. The price difference was only $3, so the cost itself was not an issue (especially since we were paying $8.75 per beer). Mac's Speech Shop is one of the newer barbecue eateries in the Concord Mills area, but they are quickly becoming one of the best and well known go to barbecue spots on any night of the week. The atmosphere is live and there's excitement in the air! Mac's is doing something big, but this type of notoriety comes with the price and you'll see that once you arrive because Mac's is usually crowded; but in their defense you are usually seated within 15 minutes and the food is worth the wait. There's plenty of options to choose from on the menu, from full out barbecue dishes including ribs and pulled pork to, chicken dishes, quesadillas, the house fave's tacos. They also have a nice selection of beers on tap to go with your meal. Mac's has a few choices on the dessert menu, but be warned we ordered the peach cobbler and it had way too much cinnamon in it. read more
