Went with friends to spend the day at Concord Mills to do a little shopping. We decided to try out MW's Taproom since the mall closed at 6pm. The restaurant was a ghost town on a Sunday evening. Maybe everyone is still eating Thanksgiving leftovers? Since there were 3 of us, we opted for an order of 3 tenders, 3 sliders, and 3 fry flavors. It was definitely enough for us to all share. The tenders were nice and crispy and the sweet chili sauce was good. I picked the Green Flag slider with bacon and pickles, very tasty. The little burger was cooked perfectly. For the fries we went with beer cheese and bacon, MW dusted, and Cajun. The Cajun were the best of the 3. The MW dust is a little on the sweet side which I didn't mind because I was dipping mine in the leftover sweet chili sauce. I was hoping to be able to pick tots as one of the 3 options but it was fries or tots, no mixing. I was also a little disappointed that the entrees options did not come with any sides. Since they were dead, the hostess was also our server. She was sweet. She answered all of our questions with ease. She didn't check back as much as I would have preferred for refills and the check but it wasn't a terrible wait. I think I was just ready to hit the road for the long ride home. They have a serious number of TVs for a sports bar so I'm sure if you are a football fan, you'll be able to watch your game, or better yet, a NASCAR race once the season starts back in February. Overall, decent bar food with plenty of TVs for sports spectators. read more

I was pleasantly surprised, this exceeded my expectations based on visits to similarly marketed race car driver owned restaurants nearby. We went on a Tuesday evening when they have $2 off their Michael Waltrip beer and a kids eat free promotion. Everything was very clean. The servers were appropriately dressed (other driver owned restaurants may lack this) and helpful. They have good beer on tap that I believe is brewed there. My husband loved his burger. My sauced tenders were good. I liked the bacon cheese fries and the dusted fries. Know that sides are extra with the exception of kids meals. We will be back. read more

We were out watching football and had the BEST time not only watching football but also listening to an amazing guy (Roy Daye)! He is ABSOLUTELY great - we ALL loved him (all generations AND all genre) ! He is a fabulous singer and we absolutely loved listening to him and his music choices! Came here before tackling great wolf lodge, and was pleasantly surprised! The beer was good - a decent craft beer, and a huge selection of Waltrip and local. It's also a good addition to the area, as I don't think there are many breweries up here. I liked the coconut IPA and my husband liked his Mexican lager! The food here was also surprisingly good! The burgers were perfectly cooked, flavorful and juicy. I would order a burger here again and again. My husband felt the same way about his BYO burger. My kids also enjoyed their kids meals, which is a win! Another fun thing is they do "eat dessert first" - the manager did come out and ask if it was ok - and then brought out a fried Oreo for each of the kids (it was delish)! The place itself is very open, lots of tables. It also has a game area and pool tables. There's something for everyone here. Next time we are in Concord, we will certainly stop in again! read more

What an awesome spot! I stopped by here for lunch on a Thursday afternoon and it was pretty quiet. The staff greeted me immediately and I was so lucky to have the pleasure of being helped by Jane. I felt right at home here and the service was beyond what I would expect from a taproom in the middle of a quiet day. Jane took such amazing care of me - making sure I was enjoying my experience the entire time. The food is fantastic too. I had the Cobb salad which was enormous and I had to take most of it home. The menu is not overwhelming and I can't wait to go back and try some other items. GREAT BEER SELECTION OF LOCAL BREWS! The crowds started to come in around rush hour time and I definitely imagine this is a hoppin' spot in the evenings and weekends. Loved the vibe overall including the pool tables, numerous TVs (which have sound on for the game) and the large open space where you can bring a big group. They have outdoor seating as well. Beers are cold and the food is great! The pretzel bites are ridiculously delicious, They come with three dipping sauces I got two of the beer cheese and a pimiento cheese. I also had the chicken pesto flatbread which was also very good. The highlight of the night Michael came in and thanked and greeted everyone that was there. It was an ounce in a lifetime event. I was saying to him that my wife was going freak out and he suggested taking a pic. Micheal is as genuine as you see on Nascar and the different documentaries he has done. Review for 6 people 8/8/2025. Flatbread pizza was floppy and soft -consensus was that it was microwaved. Portobello mushroom sandwich was Flat as a pancake, not fresh, inedible. Burger was edible. Chicken Caesar wrap was ok, but probably bought already prepared. Mac and cheese side was Cold in the middle and warm on the outside , definitely microwaved. Cajun tater tots, way, way over seasoned, and disgustingly salty. Buffalo Chicken wrap. Very spicy- over spiced. No IPA's brewed by this brewery so had to have wicked weed pernicious. Honey beer way too sweet, like they squeezed the honey right into it , not brewed with honey. Good service though. Go figure. Food came out very quickly, pretty much confirming our idea that it was microwaved. . All and all a bad food and drink experience. All 6 of us believe their food is microwaved. read more

I have so many thoughts about this place that I'm not even sure where to begin. First the good: the food was pretty good. We had burgers, fries, tots and wings. The burger was cooked to order, the fries were hot and crispy and the wings were tasty, though small. Our server was attentive and the manager was friendly and came by to check on us as well. Now the so-so: We tend to be beer snobs, so our expectations are pretty high. And the beers were a disappointment. There was nothing wrong with them, they just weren't good enough to stand out from the crowd. We tried all three IPAs from the Michael Waltrip Brewery. We were disappointed that the IPA from a wicked Weed was unavailable. Now for the not so good: we visited on Friday afternoon shortly after opening, and we were the only customers there until we were almost finished. That makes me think this place won't last very long. And now let's talk about the decor. This used to be a generic sports bar, and some evidence of that is still evident. However I expected at least SOME sort of Michael Waltrip theme somewhere. There was no posters or photos of Michael and his cars, no Nascar car parts or even a checkered flag in site. I would think that when a driver owned restaurant is this close to the Charlotte track, there would be SOMETHING. Overall the decor is very bland and boring, like they didn't even care. It's definitely not inviting. Also, why was every single tv on the same channel?? Will we be back? I highly doubt it. read more

Didn't know this place existed until mothers day weekend after my son picked me up from the airport we stopped over here for a late night meal. We sat at the bar & ordered meals to go. We started out with a bit of "I don't know if we want to stay feeling", because we got there 15 minutes after they open and the parking lot was empty. We figured this place would be packed to watch NASCAR on a Sunday. Then when we sat down or server said, we are out of wings and a bunch of beer, and there is something wrong with our TV's. Like the Michael Waltrip (MW) beers and other about 8 different ones, and we can't watch racing, seem like this might end bad. But we decided to stay and we were glade we did, because the food we ordered made up for lack of beer choices. I got a Bobby ray burger because....pimento cheese and waygu beef. The burger was fantastic, sear crunch on the outside medium on the inside, bacon jam, and some jalapeños for a little heat. I ordered the fries there good, but add truffles they are great, add some MW dust and wow wow. The MW dust is superb, but they don't sell it to go, someone please tell Michael Waltrip to star selling this to the public. Richelle got chicken fingers, which were good but not like, these are the best. However, she also got the tots with beer cheese and bacon which are worthy of special attention. I did get a MW Bristol sunshine ale, which was a little too much citrus for me. Richelle got a MW blonde ale, we both like that one. Lots of TV, real dart boards, pool tables. Probably would be fun filled with race fans. Our waitress was very nice, friendly, and attentive, she was the one that said have you tried our MW dust. I visited this location on a work trip, and it was just an okay experience. The setup was tremendous, but the vibe and food were just OK.

Typical bar atmosphere with a bar and tables placed around outside edges of bar area. The service was good, but the kitchen was way behind from a previous event. However, it is a major race weekend and Michael had just left the building. The food is typical bar fare, sandwiches, appetizers. It was good. Neat to visit. The only thing somewhat annoying was the gal playing guitar and singing out on the deck area. The door was open and she was VERY loud making indoor conversation impossible. The parking lot empty when we arrived at 4:55pm on a Monday, so that was a bit concerning. Once we entered, the staff were friendly and the place was clean. We sat at the bar and was quickly greeted by the bartender. I expressed my concern about the empty parking lot and she explained that the location recently changed name and ownership. Apparently the previous establishment had a less-than-favorable reputation that Michael Waltrip Taphouse was trying to overcome. I ordered a flight of beer and each was delicious. Went there on a beautiful Friday night and wanted to sit outside somewhere and decided to give this place a try. It has a huge outdoor seating area. Our waitress was Evan and she was amazing and gave great recommendations. We split the Philly cheesesteak and had the french fries with cheese and bacon, our friends had the turkey club and tater tots which Evan recommended and everything was amazing. We stopped in for a couple of brews. Nice restaurant (we didn't eat there, maybe next time). Was very disappointed they don't can their IPA's. Unfortunately they don't offer growlers or crowlers. If it's a canning issue, please start offering growlers and crowlers or at best just let customers bring in someone else's growlers and fill them up. I believe they are losing money from not canning their IPA's, and not offering growlers and crowlers. We wanted to take Michael's IPA's to our son in Florida. They have a very large covered patio but it was way too cold to sit outside (and it is only December). Service was great! Dining is casual with darts and basketball games. We wanted to try someplace new so we stopped in here. The pretzel bites were amazing. Hot and absolutely yummy. That's where the good stopped. The items we ordered, green burger and grilled cheese, were tiny. The burger didn't come with fries which I thought was odd and it was very basic. I had to ask for the sauce that was supposed to be on it. The grilled cheese looked like a child's meal although it was on the adult menu, again very basic. The prices did not reflect the size of the meals as they are quite large. The service was fine and the restaurant was very clean. I do not plan on returning. read more

Horrible customer service. We were cursed at by an employee in front of my 3 year old daughter because I inquired about them changing the TVs with 2 laps left in a NASCAR Race. Yes that's correct, we were cursed at because we were upset they changed the channel on ALL the TVs from a NASCAR Race to a baseball game 4 months old at a restaurant owned by a former NASCAR Driver. There was only 1 TV in the entire place with the actual race on. Keep in mind we were the ONLY customers in the entire restaurant. This place is an absolute joke and MW should be ashamed of this establishment. NEVER go to this restaurant!!!!!!! EDIT: None of the TVs were on the news. They keep claiming TVs were on the news. Went to the Mooresville location - staff was friendly, food was mediocre. Took a good while to get our food, only 3 other parties in the restaurant. Our kids left very unhappy as the kids menu says " ice cream" included only to find out it actually wasn't and a disgusting fried Oreo cookie was given instead! If you play Texas Hold'em there is a group that plays every Wed, Fri and Sat. Not sure what is required to participate The food is bad food. Not bad. Not great. I had the End Zone, pork belly burnt end style and tots with beer cheese and bacon. My husband had wings - Buffalo and chipotle. The was alight. Nothing to write home about. Nothing to complain about. The service left something to be desired. The server was mediocre - not very friendly and didn't check on us. The ambiance is that of a typical sports bar. There are a number of TVs playing a variety of sports, along with 2 basketball machines and a claw machine. Not sure I would return unless I decide to play Texas hold'em. read more
