David did call, and, after hearing my problem, he said he would drive to my home on Friday to see what he could find wrong with my Camaro SS. Sandi & Joe showed up well before noon. Joe plugged in his high-tech malfunction analyzer. The indication was a continuous misfire on the #7 cylinder. I replaced the coil, the plug, and I checked the wire for resistance. There seems to be a deeper issue so, I called Sandi again and she told me to call on Monday morning to see when I can have the car towed up to the shop. When they left my house on Friday, I asked how much I owed them for driving down and checking the car. Sandi said, "No charge". WOW! I'm hoping to get the car up to them today or tomorrow. Being on vacation, I didn't really know what to do. After calling around, a transmission shop recommended I call Palafox Imports. I had my car towed from the auto shop to Palafox Imports and, within the hour, they had found the issue with my car: simply a 2 inch long connector that had come off. They were so honest explaining everything with detail, even giving me helpful tips and info on how to care for my specific car, and sending me on my way, same day. If you own a European car, trust me and don't go to a regular mechanic. You will end up wasting your money in the long run as they'll give you the quick expensive fix which might not even fix the issue. When I went back and requested a partial refund for the diagnostic since the diagnosis was incorrect and the issue remained unresolved, they refused. I was very disappointed with how the situation was handled. I understand that diagnosing vehicle problems can sometimes be complicated, but I paid $500 expecting an accurate diagnosis and a solution to the problem. Instead, I was without my vehicle for weeks, paid for a repair that did not fix the issue, and was left with the original problem. Based on my personal experience, I would encourage anyone considering this shop to get a second opinion before authorizing expensive diagnostic or repair work.
