TLDR: If you don't know much about cars and don't pay much attention to detail, I'd still stay away... That said, I bought a Groupon for a 4-wheel alignment. Most people would assume that means 'all four wheels get aligned'. When I initially showed up, I informed the owner that I'd installed a rear camber kit in my Tesla (the factory camber is very aggressive and eats tires). He went from whatever his default state was to what I would describe as 'fairly irritated'. I think he's used to a standard routine and business model and when things go off-script, he doesn't handle that well... He presented the rear camber kit as this 'huge thing' that was going to seriously complicate the process. I asked why and he said 'because it's aftermarket'. I pointed to a BMW X5 and asked him if it had adjustable rear camber, to which he said, "Yes." So I asked what the difference was and he didn't have an answer. That's when his assistant stepped in to manage the situation. That guy has much better people skills. But for reasons I'll get to, I wouldn't trust him either... (I'm leaving the names out b/c it's irrelevant.) He explained that a normal alignment would take an hour and that this 'complication' would add another hour. I said, "Fine." He said it would be a $50 surcharge. I said, "Fine." He said I needed to reschedule. So we did... A week later, I showed up first thing in the morning. The tech drove the car around and then put it on the rack. He put the sensor pods onto the wheels and booted up the machine (due for calibration in 2025). He went straight to work and started with the rear. He got the alignment bang-on perfect. Then he went to the front of the car, barely touched a thing and, pretty much, that was it. Prior to him wrapping up, the assistant manager came over and said that the tech would be wrapping up soon. I looked at my watch and said that we weren't even an hour in. He said, "Yeah. It normally takes about 30 minutes for an alignment." At that point, I didn't say anything (he was either lying then or he was lying a week before). The tech basically adjusted the toe in the front wheels but managed to throw the camber even more out of spec (it's a balancing act) and I feel like he was under pressure. The assistant manager came over with the calibration report and showed it to me (hit me up, if you want a copy). I looked at it and asked if that was good. He was like 'pretty much'. (Basically, I just wanted to see how far this guy would go.) Went into the office to pay the $50 surcharge and noted that 'Hey. We even got this done in less than an hour' Neither the owner or his assistant had much to say... Here's what I can figure: They told their tech to not spend more than an hour on the car. Additionally, the majority of 'four-wheel alignments' involve the front wheels getting adjusted (caster, camber, toe) with some tweaks to the rear (most only have eccentric bolts for adjustment). What I got was the 'front-wheel alignment' done to the rear, the 'rear-wheel alignment' done to the front... and I paid 2x for it. I'd say it borders on a complaint to the BAR. And I'm thinking, as I type this, that I'm going to submit one... Final note: their tech actually knows what he's doing. That guy deserves to be working in a much better shop. So I hope he ends up well. As for the other two, they're not too bright. And I wouldn't trust either of them to put air in my tires. Good luck. read more

Ordered a wheel alignment through Groupon and had it done at the end of October. Within 2 months, I replaced my tires and had another alignment done at a different shop. That provider found loose hardware and missing clips, and said the prior alignment was not set to Tesla specs, just general alignment settings, and it was done poorly. If you want a generic alignment and dont' care about your car, this place might be fine. If you want a Tesla alignment done correctly and checked for fundamental service issues, I would not choose this shop again. Staff felt inexperienced and did not take the job seriously. read more

Fri, Feb. 28, 2025, 415 pm. I pulled in in front of the bay to see Larry working under a car. I chit-chatted with him a bit. His mechanic called out sick. One-man show today... The waiting room had two persons sitting inside so I opted to wait in my car. I'll have to move once he's ready to road-test the car he's working on. Good thing I planned on arriving early as he got the car on the rack on time after the woman in the white Benz took her time blocking the entrance to the bay. 5:30p, the lift is lowered and off for a test drive... He was back in five minutes and got me checked out fast. Larry is an honest businessman, God bless him. He was a man of his word when I called and booked an appointment weeks ago. A word of advice, book your appointment a month in advance. Or at least for me, I was looking for end of the week appointment. We found one three weeks out. Maybe for local customers it's easier to come by during the week but not for me as I live in Los Angeles. I am a loyal customer of Macs of over five years. I have never found a better deal for a four wheel alignment. read more

It's a pretty small area amidst other auto shops with tight parking structure (closed to none?). They seemed very busy so it is highly suggested to make an appointment. Staffs were pleasant. Once he started working on my car, it was a jiffy. It took about 45mins and their machines pretty neat. No scratches on my wheels. I was very satisfied with their quality of work. I went here for a four wheel alignment due to the good reviews. However, I was surprised to find that after their first alignment attempt, my steering wheel was crooked. No big deal, it happens, so I went back for a readjustment. No apology, no acknowledgement, or explanation from the owner, I had to ask to be "squeezed in" to their schedule to get my car serviced again. This time, the steering wheel was straight, but my car still went right. Second opinions from other mechanics told me my suspension is fine. I rotated tires as suggested and the problem still persisted. I called Larry for a refund twice (I bought a groupon, but I paid extra on site for their warranty). Each time I would ask for updates on the refund, he would say he'll "figure it out", but it's been almost 1.5 weeks and I still have not been refunded. I'm not one to leave reviews like this because I know how important reviews are to small businesses. I try to sort it out with the owner first. I wasn't asking for much, I just wanted my car aligned, which they failed to do, then I asked for my money back - which they still failed to do after follow ups on my end. Great and friendly service. My car needed an alignment as it was pulling a little to the right. When I called they were all booked so had to book a few weeks later which was fine. As others noted, very quick and easy process. I dropped the car off and walked to the market across the street and it was done within 45 minutes. I wasted my time (1 1/2 hours) at Mac's Auto Care getting an alignment for my vehicle. Do NOT come here for an alignment, or send any of your friends/family members to this shop. They will try to take advantage of you or anyone unknowing. The shop tried to do the typical "Oh, this is bad, so you need to buy this to fix it." After dropping off my vehicle, I waited an hour before they tried claiming that because my tires were slightly worn, they could not do an alignment on the vehicle. Thus, they recommended purchasing new tires through them. Please do not interpret this as me being ignorant that my tires were worn and that the shop is right. They are taking advantage of people who do not know that you can still get an alignment despite your tires being worn. They can be completely bald, and you can still get a good alignment. My tires have a depth of 6/32, which are still new. Afterward, they tried shilling me on new tires with an overpriced quote. I am very aware of shady business practices in the automotive industry, so I do not care as much since I am not naive. Their attempt at lying straight to my face is seemingly common practice with budget/cheap shops. I am more so concerned about the innocent person that does not know, such as an innocent mom/grandma/etc, since they put trust into the shops that they visit as they should. read more

I have been going here for over a year now and I feel the service has gotten worse and worse. For reference I am new to the OC and currently a college student and not too familiar with anyone or the area, I saw that this place does free diagnostics which was great I thought the establishment was a genuine company and not just trying to scam people, over the year I just feel like the quality and service has gone down. The manager Larry has become less and less communicative and also responsive. For instance I took my car in for a diagnostic, Larry let me know her call me when they find out what's wrong. 2 hours past and still no call so I walk back over to the shop to find the workers just sitting down and my car hood up. I ask if they are still working on it they said yeah, I go in and first thing Larry says is "oh yeah we had to order a part" which I was blindsided by because I never received a call regarding what the diagnosis is so for him to just order the part without communicating was shocking. It was my understanding they were still doing the diagnosis so I went and sat back down, 30 minutes later I get a call that my car is ready and the total is 200 something dollars which again I was shocked by because when were you going to call me to give me a quote that that was even the price. I never said to him go ahead and do it or that price is fine go ahead, so I was completely in awe that that was the service I was getting. I paid it and when I got my receipt the total was 10 extra dollars then what was on the invoice which also was not communicated and although that may have been tax it's still courteous to tell your costumer that. Anywho I'm overall just very disappointed in the quality of the work and service here now. Unfortunately I don't know many people so don't really know another mechanic to go to who's honest and fair. Avoid!!! Did alignment there after I put on 4 brand new tire. I thought I had a great deal because the alignment is cheap. However, after 6k mileage, my brand new Bridgestone tires are gone on the side. It was ridiculous, Costco tire center was surprised by this and said whoever did your alignment was horrible. Costco will not give any warranty if your alignment is off and left the tire like this. I have to pay 650 dollars more for 2 new tires and 150 dollars for alignment. That didn't include the tow truck that towed my car. Btw, I took my car to auto shop and the mechanic checked on my suspension and said there was no problem of suspension just alignment. My overall experience was great! I had a Groupon deal for a wheel alignment. My appointment was at 3 and I got there at 2:40. I was greeted by the owner who let me know John would check me in. I waited in the office that had 6 chairs, a mini fridge for complimentary drinks and a tv to watch the view. It took them 40 mins for the service. It was done quickly and I had no problem. Had the check engine light come up on my 04 Toyota Matrix. Aaron and Larry did a great job of diagnosing the issue. We had to change out the O2 sensor and while we were at it we fixed a oil leak we had. Mac's Auto Care fixed the issues we had and informed us of any other maintenance we would require. Had an appointment at 10am and happened to get there 30 minutes early. They told me you are in luck, we can take you now. I was there for an alignment. They test drove the car first then popped it up and completed the alignment. They drove it again afterwards and I was good to go. My alignment was off on two of the tires.
