still a one star. they knew exactly what was wrong with my mower because I told them. so why charge me to pick it up? Why not just tell me it's not fixable. It's called courtesy honesty, integrity. this was two years ago. I just happened to see you online. And guess what my mower still cuts the grass. So it's obviously not beyond Repair. I was cutting my grass on 8/18/18 with my Z254 husqvarna and the hydraulic belt pulley tensioner bearing seized up and spun off. I took it to Macon Outdoor Power on Monday 8/20/18. I was told they should be able to have it repaired within the week since they were not that busy. I didn't hear anything from this dealer on Tuesday or Wednesday so on Thursday the 23rd I called them and was told the unit wasn't ready and they had some parts on order. I was also told the unit would definitely be ready for pickup by Friday or Saturday at the latest. (At this point, I've had no phone call or communication relaying the problem or cost associated with the repair.) I called back Saturday afternoon to see if the mower was ready for pickup. Again I was told it wasn't ready and now all of a sudden, the mower that's been working perfectly for 3 years and and was just in for a belt tensioner, now has a major internal issue that's gonna cost me "big" money. When I started asking questions like "how is this even possible" and "where was my communication on the job throughout the week" I was told there was nothing to communicate to me. He also informed me that they have done all they can do and I can come get it because obviously they don't communicate well enough for me! When I arrived on Monday 8/27/18 to pick the unit up, I tried to speak to the owner. Not only would the owner not discuss it with me, he basically refused to do any further work or even tell me what was wrong or where to take it next. Just said "find a Husqvarna dealer that communicates better than we do." I paid his bill, backed my trailer up to pick my mower up and as the guy was riding my mower to me, it cut off 20 ft from the back of my trailer. I walked over and asked "what's wrong now" and he said it looks like the fuse popped. I asked him if they had another one and was told he would help me push it up on my trailer and I could buy a fuse somewhere else. So... I brought in a broken machine, waited a week for the repairs, and left with a broken machine! Now I don't know about everyone else, but when I hire someone to do a service on my equipment, I feel like there should be some sort of communication about the job as well as some sort of estimated upfront pricing. We (the customers) are not an open checkbook! If you (the repair facility) feel like we don't deserve that, then you shouldn't be in business and you sure as hell don't deserve to be representing a brand name such as husqvarna! I've been buying Husqvarna products for over 10 years and this is the first time I have ever been treated this way by a representative of such a fine product! Very disappointed! read more

This is an older, established business down on Napier Avenue in an older part of town. A bit rundown and an unassuming building, they stock a good deal of parts at a decent price. In today's economy, it's harder for a shop to keep in stock all the many parts for the many little engines that are sold. For that fact alone, it's worth giving them a call to see if they have the part you need or can get it in a day or two. I do recall taking a weed eater to them a few years ago to be charged $30 or $35 dollars to tell me that they couldn't fix it. Thanks for taking my money. If it'd been me, I would have waived the fee since this is one of those deals where that money applies to any repair work done. For that, I have to drop it a rating star. read more

I had them work on a chainsaw was told they replaced the carburetor, i picked the saw up took it home the chain saw ran good but it really didn't look like they had replaced the carburetor. So I left a negative review, fast forward a couple of years and I bought a Husqvarna Zero turn mower from Lowes using my Veteran discount. After only a couple of weeks I needed one of the steering controls worked on. Macon Outdoor power is the only service shop, I was told to take it to. I borrowed a trailer took the mower to them unloaded it, came back home only to find that they had called and told my wife for me to call them, was told to come back and get the mower. I am 75 a veteran and had no idea that this company could be such a revenge oriented group. I was told that because I had given them a negative review that they would not under any circumstance work on my Mower although they are the only place in Macon that work On Husqvarna. The only other place was some 40 miles away. I had no choice but to have it repaired by a another shop in Macon which cost me 136 dollars. This mower has a 3 year bumper to bumper warranty which is no good if you can't get service. Be very careful of this thin skinned company, they hold a grudge even against a 75 year old disabled Veteran. read more

This was the first place I stopped when shopping for a riding mower. Could have saved gas by getting it then. After going to other places, Macon Outdoor had the best price and got more then what I started looking for. They were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The other places had to go to the computer to find answers to my questions where them at Macon outdoor knew their product. All the extras I got with it, blades, cover, wad given to me then so I had them. Was delivered at the agreed upon time and I was given instructions on my mower and he was able to answer the rest of my questions and told me if I think of anymore to call. After seeing the knowledge displayed by the places felt better buying here and having them asemble it then some guy at the big box store that's putting together mowers one minute and grills the next. I've been buying and servicing mowers here for years. When my Husqvarna gave out mid-mow yesterday, and I had no means to drop it off, they were quick to schedule a pickup and courteous in calming my mower angst about going into mower withdrawal until it is repaired.
