Yelp came through again!!!…read more Things don't always go as planned while in vacation. Last night while in Lexington, Kentucky at 11:30 pm my boyfriend's crown popped out. I yelped "emergency dental" and saw the post from a patient who had an emergency and was also on vacation. So, while on the road heading to Springfield, at 7:40 this morning we called Dr. Capati's after hours number and told him what happened. He said to call his staff at 8:00 and we did; they were able to squeeze in Stephen at 2:50 pm. The staff texted him a link for dental information (ie name, address, issues, etc) and by the time we arrived, everything was taken care of. He was done within 45 minutes and he said the tooth feels great. He's extremely happy and gives high praise to the staff and doctor.

I have made the call to do annual cleaning but it ended up be another "advanced" cleaning, named as: first time visit cleaning. This cleaning might be needed if you have not do your dental appt for more than 5-10 years, but for most ppl with insurance covered, we do cleaning annually, this advanced check make no sense, especially the dental trying to play the game to not mentioning specifically that they are doing a cleaning that will not be covered by insurance completely. We got those replaced with new and even though I had other older fillings she wasn't concerned about them in their current state and therefore didn't try and convince me to get them replaced just because they were older. As a patient it feels good to know you won't be sold a bill of goods with unnecessary procedures. I've worked with two of her hygienists and they were both great. I go in every 3-6 months for cleanings. I see for 2015 she was voted most favorite dentist in Springfield. I'm not surprised. Well deserved.

Poor Quality Well about 2 years ago I had a front tooth…read morereplaced with a porcelain implant that cost me a total of 3,000 dollars from Smile Shoppe in Burlington Iowa. OK they finished the work I then moved out of state and 3 months later during a thanksgiving dinner eating mashed potatoes my freaking implant crown fell out and I almost swallowed it. I called Dr. Amy and basically she told me " well you could drive 2000 miles back and we could try it again" but of course I said no its OK and had a local dentist re Bond the tooth. When I asked my local dentist what was the cause he stated poor quality Bond and not enough set time and of course poor workmanship. So here we are 2 years later and I am eating a piece of fried chicken and my crown now chipped the bottom left corner!!!!! So after doing some research I found out that these things never or very rarely chip or if they do its usually after 10 years or so. I called Dr. Amy to ask some basic questions and to see if she would even offer help with getting a hold of the manufacturer of the implant to see why and maybe help me out anything considering the money I had paid them and all I got was a well not sure what you want there is nothing we are going to do to help you. So I called a local Dentist and he stated it would cost me around 1,000 dollars to replace the crown and would guarantee it for 10years really Dr. Amy I thought you really cared about your patients. Run away from this place, they have back massaging chairs, TVs you can watch and they are really friendly all while they destroy your teeth and pocket book stay away from these crooks and shame on you DR.Amy.....
