I remember getting my mom in the car from her wheelchair and Angel happen to be at the front entrance taking temperatures that day and she ran out to offer her assistance. She calls me by name and one time she said hello Mechell, how are you? I was surprised that she new my name but was taken back by the fact that she addressed me and took note of it. There were no follow ups or additional tests done yet was charged for an additional office visit for discussing things outside of the physical yet those questions were prompted by the PA. The billing office will frequently code the visits incorrectly, leaving us to be on the calls for hours between Novant's billing department and the insurance company to dispute the bills. There appears to be major incompetence of the staff and billing support. I reached out to the office but they were unable to help.

I did countless drug tests in the past and never failed once. The nurse called and informed that to me like she's trying to get rid of this burden and go on with her day. I immediately asked to speak with the doctor who admitted me - Brian Hummel, which simply avoided me and never called me back, despite me calling about 4-5 times the following days. The nurse who spoke to me, by the name of Emma, simply told me that since the anomaly is so high, they simply wont give me the prescription, and that's all. Correct me if I'm wrong, but as a doctor or a medical professional, if you see something so unusual in a patient who never had history of substance abuse, isn't it your job (not to mention a sworn testimony) to try and get to the bottom of this? Because allegedly the amounts that were found in my blood were life threatening. I went to the police the same day because the only explanation I could think about was that I'm being poisoned somehow. The cop told me that I should go back to the clinic and ask them what protocols did they use, because he already seen cases like this before that people failed in a test because the protocols that were used weren't efficient enough. Moreover, a simple research about the topic will quickly show that many things can cause false positive result in this specific substance test, such as energy drinks, caffeine and more. But I guess to think about it all was too much to ask, since the staff obviously had better things to do then to show basic human decency and help me. When I called the clinic and asked them for the protocols, the person who answered the phone was really rude and told me that she didn't know what I'm talking about and quickly hang up.two days later i took a private test which needless to say showed that I'm completely clean. But all of this doesn't matter of course, because who will waste his time being a good person and a true professional these days? By the way i tried to call a few times since, and never got a call back from the doctor. Thank you novant health for a lovely experience.

I moved away for a couple years, then called trying to make an appointment after moving back this year. They had "a note on my account saying I was no longer a patient" and the receptionist told me she had to talk to the manager about me before she could make me an appointment. Well she called me back hours later saying that she spoke with the manager and that things have changed since I was a patient and you are now required to join some MVP program for $1800/yr just to be a patient. Before I could even respond, she was already saying that seeing as I didn't find this acceptable and there was nothing she could do... don't go here, the receptionist twins are terribly rude and either require some MVP dues like an exclusive club or they will use this to get rid of you.

The staff at check in was great and made the check process easy. I had already filled out most of my information online but check in was smooth. I was quickly called back to an exam room and the attendant was professional and thorough. They explained they would need to take X-rays and that was handled quickly. However, once I got back to the exam room, the doctor took about 45 minutes to come to the room and do the exam and explain the X-rays. He was professional and explained everything in a straightforward manner and answered all of my questions. OrthoCarolina did a great job, it was the wait time that bothered me and there was no apology for the long wait time. I would recommend!

They really know their stuff. Beyond knowing their stuff is their continual dialogue with patients. On each appointment we began discussing how the exercises were working, how I was feeling, what is working or not. Then we would get into planning for that day and going forward. I was involved in the therapy. And we continued in this joint planning over a month of treatments. They administer a tablet form of survey asking about your condition and how it is affecting your life. After the therapy has run its course you complete the same survey, so they have a before and after record of your condition. Impressive and given the people cycling through this practice it was clear that the facility and all the therapists were doing something special. Good resource for most all of us.
