GO TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP!!! Whatever deal you found is not worth it. When I bought a car from them the first day the engine light turned on. Then the ABS light came on. Then the tire light and emergency brake light. I bring the car to them and leave it for weeks for them to fix. Still the engine light and tire light are on. While I am driving the supports holding the tire completely break. I tow the car back to them and while they fix it, I tell them to fix the engine light and tire light. I get the car back and the engine light is still on! A year later I am trading in the car for a new one at CarMax. Do not make the same mistake, it is not worth it. read more

Buyer beware. They don't inspect the trucks they sell. Bought I nice looking truck. Drove nice when I took it out for a test. Unbeknownst to me after I bought it and got it home. The brakes failed. It was a vacuum pump. A few days later the alternator started making noise and battery level went down. One wheel was missing a lug nut. And a tail light was out. Bought a 2004 Nissan Frontier online from Mackey. They coated the undercarriage in a spray liner to hide the extensive rust. Muffler fell off two days after I got the truck. The brakes, axles, control arms, drive line, and chassis itself were all rusted beyond repair. Don't spend any money here, ever. read more

I do not like to leave negative reviews, but I feel the need to warn the public about this dealership. I bought a truck. My salesman was Derrick. He agreed to have a bed liner put in, I assumed it was included in the price. However, they took the payment out of my overpayment check before giving it to me. I do not mind paying, but this liner was put in wrong and did not fit. It was wedged and jammed and hanging out all over. When I asked for the company that installed, they did not feel comfortable giving me the name. When I asked it be fixed, they would not make an appt. I had to just blindly drop the truck off and leave until done, which I cannot do. I do not have another car. None the less, they did not fix it. It could not have been professionally installed and I had to pay for this shabby job that had to be removed. I tried to contact the business repeatedly. Derrick turned rude and the owner/manager would never answer or return calls. on top of it all, transmission is acting up too. As dishonest and pathetic as they come. I purchased a boat and trailer from their Owner, John Mackey through his Dealership the beginning of this year. Mackey provided in writing Warrants as to it being in complete perfect working order in addition to the promise to fully-service the trailer for the trip back to Arizona and boat being cleaned and properly winterized. I received emailed-responses within an hour of their being sent until the day they received my money; from that day forward, I received a response 5 days later, the next 10 and then the final response was "you own it, don't contact me again". The trailer did not have brakes, lights, plates (or a title...they claim they never promised to provide a title) or required safety chains. The boat arrived with block-ice in all compartments, covered with zebra mussels and the engine having been taken apart, parts missing and put back together without parts and not operational. No batteries either. Mackey called me today and yelled for 14 minutes claiming the boat was driven every day for 17 years (only has 300+ hours); his WIFE is an expert that will assure everything he says is true, that all my emails sent to him actually went to his shop and his employees answered, he never reviewed and they say whatever is needed to appease me, he never warranted the boat to be anything other than as-is (but assured me it worked perfectly) and the trailer was "given" out of his good-will and never a part of our deal which of course included it (nor did he agree to provide its title or batteries). He said he will be happy to meet me in court. Think of the time it takes someone to go out of their way to write a negative review. I have every picture, part, etc and am out of pocket 1/3 more than the boat costs and over its value. Read these reviews and avoid them! Not to be trusted. read more

Went to Mackey today 7/19/2018, for what I thought was to finalize a deal on a 2005 mustang.. Chris jumped started the car and left it running and never mentioned it when we arrived. Let me test drive with a faulty driver side seat, which according to everyone was a surprise it wisent working. Car drove fine , and was DOA after parking and turning off...Hummm we just changed the battery??After 2 hours of back n forth Chris tries to get me to take financing for 480.00 a month 51 months which boys and girls is 23,000.00 for a car they had listed for 9,998...Did we mention the 2,700.00 warrantee add on ?? NOOO.... This is while their STILL trying to fix the car in the lot... I purchased a very nice, hard to find BMW from Mackey Automotive. The deal seemed decent and I was happy with the price (The price was competitive, but in no means an awesome deal.). That was until I found all the items they neglected to disclose (only one key, comfort access not working, no mufflers, torn front CV boot, etc...). Most of the items should have been taken care of prior to selling the car and should never be left up to the customer to discover. After all, I didn't think I was buying the car from some shady, back alley character. I thought I was purchasing the car from a reputable, NYS licensed automotive dealer. The bad CV boot led to the axle going bad which took Mackey several months to even address. When they did address it, they never fixed it right because they kept ordering cheap, second rate parts that weren't even made for the car I purchased. In the end, I couldn't drive the car for over four weeks, spent more money out of my own pocket than John Mackey ever paid for the repair, and I had to arrange for the proper repair myself. I even had to negotiate with Ric for a reimbursement of less than what it actually cost me to do the repair. Throughout this whole ordeal, the only way I ever received a return phone call was when I threatened legal action. At one point I left emails and phone messages for two weeks just seeking a status update for my car while it was in their repair shop. At no point did they even consider proactively communicating with me. I've never worked so hard to be someone's customer. I have been lied to, ignored, yelled at (whatever you do, don't express that your frustrated or fed-up) and they even tried pitting me against their repair shop. By the way, John Mackey has never once returned my calls, apologized or even acted like he cared. In my experience with Mackey Automotive, they treat you like it's a privilege to do business with them and once you write them a check, they just as soon never talk to you again. That's an interesting way to run a business. This may explain why they're not selling cars at this time (I don't believe that they're remodeling anything). I cannot and will not ever recommend Mackey Automotive to anyone. My advice, before you even consider looking at a car on Mackey Automotive's lot, take your chances on eBay or Craigslist. You'll receive better customer service and ultimately a better deal. read more

We bought a car from Mackey in June 2015. The car has had nothing but problems and needed thousands of dollars (10K) worth of work. It never should have past inspection. Once the sale is done, so is the service. They don't return phone calls. We tried to mediate through BBB and they didn't respond. Go to a reputable dealer. purchased a 2010 jeep grand Cherokee from macky in December 2018 as a gift for my fiancé. when I test drove it, found it needed brakes, tires, radio did not work and a switch to move the gas/brake pedal was broken. they told me it would all be fixed before I picked it up. so the day came I went and picked the jeep up about 6pm the salesmen showed me pictures of they're "mechanics" changing the brakes. he then informed me they ordered a factory radio as I requested. so the next day I notice the tires were not replaced and the switch was not replaced either. I waited a week and called Trevor and asked about the radio and mentioned the items that had not been replaced per our agreement. he then told me they are still waiting for the radio from jerry browns auto parts, so I called them and they informed me that they had not spoke or dealt with macky in some time and no radio was ordered. I called nemer dodge for a quote on one and found that it cost 2500 new. now here it is end of February 2019 and nothing has been done. and this whole time the jeep has been in my garage out of the weather. well today I had to drive it to work and I see water dripping inside from 3 spots!!!! I just spoke with Trevor again and was told it never leaked before. what a joke these guys are rip offs and don't follow through with anything they agree to . the jeep looks as it just came off the showroom floor and has only 91k on it with a 5.7 hemi , really a shame they are not an honest dealership. gives local small time dealers a bad name read more
