Be careful with smaller dogs as there are coyotes in the tall grass across from the beach. Beautiful and picturesque location. You can drive up further to the Sachuest Point National Wildlofe Refuge (dogs not allowed) which has beautiful views. Such a beautiful scenic drive or enjoying the beautiful sunrise.

We paid $30 cash for a weekday day pass as non-residents (July 2026). What a racket! There aren't any other parking options nearby either so just consider it the price of admission. To make it even more ridiculous, I believe they only accept cash or check, adding another layer of unnecessary silliness to the whole thing. Once you're on the beach though, it's absolutely gorgeous. The sand is soft, the water is clean and clear, and there are lifeguards on duty. It gets really busy with families but there's plenty of space to spread out if you come earlier in the day. The amenities are solid too. There are bathrooms, showers, changing areas, a concession stand, and when we visited there was also a Del's Lemonade food trailer. We came during a heat wave and the water was still cold so that tells you everything about the water temp. Overall, this was easily our favorite beach in the Newport area. If I had to choose between this and Easton's Beach, it's not even close. We'd come back here every time. Minus 1 star (should be 2) as the parking experience meaningfully detracted from the visit.

The town beach has a nice bathroom/shower area that closes at 5- but it's really nice & they offer free sunscreen (was empty)! They have Del's (thankfully) posted up on the corner which is nice & you can also order from a few nearby restaurants however we brought a cooler so I just grabbed us 3 small watermelon dels when we needed to cool down. The water was beautiful I am talking turquoise in areas & so refreshing- NO RED TIDE (which has literally been at nearly every single beach I've gone to this summer) and the rocks weren't as bad as the other beaches- so that's a plus! They're a private town beach- think very similar to Narragansett Beach- but instead of a cove you get the real deal ocean! They're a also an amazingly easy way to get to this beach- if you're from Northern RI- like I am- BACK ROADS & the ride was pretty amazing although not from my 6 year old's standpoint! The surf was a little rough- hence the red flag- but the way this beach is set up- you can easily watch your kids while they dig in the sand or play in the water! The sand was soft and perfect for kids! My son had a blast! Overall I was amazed at the cleanliness and simplicity of this small town beach & it could be my new favorite - in terms of beaches I go to. We will be back on the 25th and 26th of August as we rented a Cabin At Burlinggame camp ground- as one last hoorah for my son! Can't wait to come back!

Goosewing is a nature preserve and has a beautiful shoreline with clean clear rolling waves. The view is spectacular and you certainly feel you are on the edge of land facing the big open ocean. Parking is not cheap, but it was worth every penny. The beach was not full, I found a place away from the groups and unpacked my sandwich. I was bringing my lunch up to my mouth and suddenly I had half a sandwich in my hand and the other half was already in the gullet of a sea gull! I am Savvy, I am aware of gull habits, but this one set a new high bar. I had to laugh, the gull was surprised to find itself with a beak full of veggies. Needless to say said gull stood staring at me while I finished what remnants it left me.

It was much quieter and with less people than Narragansett beach would have been, though. What knocks it down to 3.5 for me is that it's very rocky. I went into the ocean but you have to walk over some rocks before getting to the sandy part, so I didn't bother. Walking back to where we were sitting was also rocky. On your way out there are restrooms and also a foot shower, which was nice.

Life guards were all nice, stay out of the coned lanes as their ATV's roll thru there. Parking can be paid Via app (the kiosks are confusing imo) i think it's $14 plus fees is what we paid as a MA resident! They had a lemonade stand as you walk over the sand dune. No trash cans anywhere except in the restroom facilities so bring a trash bag and pick up after yourself!

When we visited during the heat wave last week, the water literally looked like chocolate lol (not even joking!)... did not go in for a dip at all but this beach served us well for tanning! Food options are limited. There are food trucks but very pricey and mid. Make sure to bring your own food or stop by somewhere to pick up some food before heading here. I saw a bunch of people bringing large boxes of pizza. Parking is not free, like most beaches in MA. It's $14 for MA residents/$40 for non-MA residents. Payments can be made via YODEL app or parking kiosks in the lot. Thought the price for parking was not too shabby, honestly. We had decided to come here mostly because we didn't purchase our parking pass for any of the Gloucester beaches in time and we didn't feel like sitting in traffic on the bridges to get to the Cape. We had a great time here overall & can definitely see myself coming back in the future! They've got lifeguards on deck here & they switch out every so often, so that's good!
