Wonderful Experience…read more 5/5 experience- did 10 dives with Ed. Ed certified our son years ago doing the ocean dives for junior open water (did the coursework and pool work in California), then later this trip July-August 2026 got certification for advanced open water and enriched air diver. Ed was very attentive and also we like going with Oahu Travel divers as they have a smaller boat and it is not like cow-herd diving which some other operators are. Also he dives with nitrox and that is included. Dives go out of Kewalo basin. We dove Sea Tiger a few times, end pipe, Blocks, Yo-257, Pinnacles and Tug Boat. The highlight was that we saw a whaleshark which was magical/ and haven't seen one before. Ed kept a close eye on my son and was safe, was a good instructor, my son (age 15 enjoyed his instruction and dives). Recommend him / Oahu Travel Divers if you are looking to do diving on South Shore (Kewalo basin) also he said he will be having access to Hawaii Kai boat as well if that interests anyone. Since we stay at Ko Olina, that is farther out so we opted for Kewalo Basin. Also we were allowed to dive our profile, for me was a 58 minute dive for one/ all the other divers were up on the boat I believe in our group except for Ed and I. He checks all the tanks before bringing to the boat to ensure we have full fills and also we checked the nitrox content. We brought our own gear so just needed tanks and weights. On the boat we never felt rushed to put on our gear and also we were not rushed out of the water, we ended the dives when we were appropriately low on air (?700 psi)/ doing 3 minute safety stop.

Ed is very friendly and relaxed and equally as accommodating of very experienced divers and those who hadn't been diving in years and needed some refreshing. I really like that Ed equips all divers with a high quality dive computer and uses EAN32 (Nitrox) on all his dives, giving a quick Nitrox briefing for those who are not Nitrox certified. The rest of the rental gear was good quality and Ed did a very good job leading the dive, checking in with all the divers regularly, spotting sea life, etc. Next time I'm in Honolulu I will definitely dive with Ed again.

Highly Recommend Hawaii MusicWorks!…read more When I first inquired about beginner keyboard lessons for my son, I spoke with Aunty Dale. She is incredibly sweet and sets such a positive tone--it's clear from the start how wonderful this place is! My son looks forward to his weekly group keyboard lessons with Mr. Mark. Learning alongside friends makes the sessions fun! He really enjoys getting to choose the songs he learns to play. In my son's words, Mr. Mark is "patient, caring, and nice." It's evident that he truly cares about his students. When my son felt stressed over a school assignment he didn't understand, Mr. Mark actually went out of his way to help him. He was so happy to tell me about it. Happy kid, happy mom--Hawaii Music Works has been a fantastic experience for us!

After 10 years of keyboard lessons for both of my sons, I can confidently say that Mr. Mark, Ms…read more Kira and Aunty Dale have provided far more than just music education--they have helped shape the young men my sons are becoming. From the very beginning, the lessons were a place where my boys could not only grow musically but also build confidence, express themselves freely (often with a bit of silliness!), and connect with positive adult role models who genuinely care about their well-being. Mr. Mark and Ms. Kira have consistently gone above and beyond--taking an interest in my sons' lives outside of music, encouraging their involvement in concert and marching band, and even supporting them through private school admission processes by authoring recommendations. Aunty Dale has provided consistent communication about scheduling and payment while always offering a welcoming smile to students and families as they walk thru the door. Over the years, Mr. Mark, Ms. Kira and Aunty Dale have celebrated milestones with us, offered guidance during challenging times, and shown a level of dedication that make them an extension of our family. Their presence throughout my sons' childhoods has made a lasting impact--one that goes far beyond notes on a page. If you're looking for instructors who are not only talented musicians and teachers but also compassionate mentors, you will find no better.

I highly recommend her if you're looking into getting certified at any level. I may fly back out here just to take her Rescue course. I was thoroughly impressed with every single facet of this operation. You can tell each and every decision was made with safety as the primary concern. The boat is one of those unsinkable, jet-driven, aluminium, self-righting, engineering wonder. They have a large O2 supply on board, not just a dinky emergency can. The captain will absolutely call out unsafe practices. The instructors/guides are so knowledgeable and comfortable that you will feel at ease no matter your skill level. I actually convinced my ocean-fearing, "I won't swim in the ocean" friend to go on a Discovery Dive, and he loved it. I ended up doing an additional set of dives after completing my course just because they're that good. I ended up doing 7 dives in 3 days On the same 2 sites, and I never once got bored or regretted it. Hell, I'd do 7 more if I had the time.
