This place isn't what ride perfection used to be. These people actually stole 1,200 parts off the car with proof.this vehicle has only 35k miles and had parts clearly with over 100k. I went to the police station with the customer with the proof of what was stolen and replaced with junk parts off a car made before this one was made reading date codes.This is the 11th car I've repaired this year towed to me as a private mechanic to my workshop. A lot of them were just overpriced parts,some lies and just replacing whole systems instead of the one affected part. This one was actually criminal and charges were filed.I got a call from a woman not to be named on Friday oct. 9th who drove her car and got a quote from Harper auto service in August for her ford fusion acting up with all sorts of electrical issues. Long story short this place quoted her almost 7,000 dollars for a bunch of unnecessary work and flat out lies. She didn't have the money obviously and wasn't sure what to do. She also had lots of personal issues and stayed in contact letting them know she's trying to figure it out and what was going on. She also told me something seemed off but wasn't sure where to turn. I told her bring it to me and this is where the fun starts. She calls them and asks what she owed for diagnosis and she would be picking up the car. They had all the excuses in the world that the car "couldn't be driven" and a new one I heard "we had to shut the car down" . These things don't have on and off switches. She proceeds to say I don't care I'm taking it elsewhere. This place has the balls to ask her "where are you taking it and what's his name?" like that's any of their business. Some people aren't rude so she said it's going to my daughter's auto shop because they have pity for me. So after a huge hassle retrieving her property and at first they couldn't find the key the car is towed to me. This wasn't anywhere near what they quoted. I found the problem in 5 minutes of poking around and found a small section of engine harness and the transmission harness and also the downstream oxygen sensor chewed through by rats.If you look at the pictures of the wiring damage you can see there quote was absolute lies and thievery. So I repaired the wiring and went to reassemble the car and not only were a bunch of bolts missing but so was the air box, engine cover and splash shield. I'm a former ford dealer tech and specialize in fords so I had extra hardware from part outs laying around. Now for the part where they actually stole stuff. So I got the car back together and took it for a test drive. I notice the car was shaking over 60 mph and it had very worn dry rotted tires let alone installed improperly so I let the customer know. She was quite confused and said oh well Costco can warranty them. I was confused because not only were the tires a brand Costco doesn't sell (think eBay/amazon brand) the car takes 235/50/17s and the rears had 225/50/17s and they had a date code from the 30th week of 2017 and the fronts were the right size but also not a brand they sell with a date code of 7th week of 2023. She shows me a receipt from Costco from Jan of 2026 for 4 BF Goodrich tires for the sum of $789 dollars. These scumbags swapped out her tires for some junk ones thinking nobody would realize. Not only that the car had a super small battery in it and was missing the hold down and was completely dead. She also drove it in with working A/C and now it doesn't work. Long story short these assholes I'm pretty positive while it may of been there for 58 days they assumed she was just gonna leave it there and forfeit the car since she couldn't afford it. While that could have been the case they didn't own the car yet and literally stole this woman's tires. The a/c not working? If you know cars past 2016 they started using refrigerant R1234yf which is extremely expensive ($60 a lb). I leak tested this car with nitrogen and found zero pressure drop or leaks. What's that mean? Well it didn't leak out into the atmosphere. These scum bags sucked down the 2.2 lbs of refrigerant in the system for their a/c machine. The battery I pulled out also had a date code of 2016. How is that when it's a 2018? Since this car has auto start stop it requires a 250 dollar AGM battery. If you look at this quote of lies and know cars or even a little bit, say it did need a whole harness... since when do you need to reprogram the ECM and BCM for replacing the harness let alone for 1,000 dollars?

My experience with a transmission oil cooler line repair on my Cadillac ATS was not just a case of overcharging, but a total failure of safety and professional ethics. They billed me $980, in an attempt to justify 4+ hours of unnecessary labor by claiming they had to remove the steering rack to get to the transmission oil cooler lines. This is not the procedure documented in the service manual. Additionally, they charged list price for the part, claiming they received no discount from the dealership on part purchases. After a test drive, they pulled the car back in and I witnessed the technicians attempting a "manual alignment"--one holding the steering wheel straight while the other hammered on components underneath. When I asked the manager, Mark, if I should get a professional alignment since the rack was pulled, he wouldn't even look me in the eye and simply said, "Yeah, probably, I would if I were you." Upon inspecting the car myself immediately after leaving, I found: 1. STEERING RACK BOLT: The main mounting bolt was only halfway threaded into the chassis. The steering rack was literally unbolted from the car. 2. DISCONNECTED SWAY BAR: The front driver-side sway bar link was completely disconnected and dangling behind the wheel. 3. ZIP-TIED LINES: The new $529 lines were secured with a plastic zip tie instead of the factory-provided mounting bracket and bolt. 4. DANGLING PARTS: The engine mount vacuum hose and wiring harness were left unclipped and hanging. This shop billed me for "rack removal" but failed to actually bolt the rack back to the car. Returning a vehicle with loose steering and suspension is gross negligence. I am filing a formal complaint with the Michigan Bureau of Automotive Regulation (SOS-197). I have attached photos of the loose bolts and hanging suspension for public record. Avoid this shop if you value your safety.
