I'm so glad I got to try this drink. Every time I passed by there would be a line, and curiosity…read moreovertook me and decided to join in the line. This is just a small place with no place to sit, so it is basically as take away only. Ordering was easy, but the noise from the blenders and waiting customers talking made hearing difficult. There were quite a few customers so my daughter and I ended up waiting for close to 20 min, but after we tasted the drink we didn't mind waiting for that long. If you like the taste of non sweet yogurt this drink is very nice! I ordered hawthorn berries and purple rice in my drink, and my daughter ordered melon. I think melon drink is a bit more sweet, but not overly sweet. My drink almost felt healthy and really enjoyable. Because it has some purple rice in it when you don't feel like eating full breakfast this drinks felt like a nice substitute.

Anyways, was thrilled to see it in the Westfield Mall after dinner at Ippudo just across the aisle. The base drink is Beijing style yogurt mixed with purple rice porridge. Then they mix in different flavors like hawthorn, red bean, melon, etc depending on what you order. We tried with red bean, hawthorn, jujube, and with oats. I like just the basic form. Hubby and son like red bean the best. They all taste quite similar to be honest, because the Beijing yogurt flavor is distinct and strong (just the way I like), but yes you can still taste the added red bean or hawthorn or jujube as well.

Pretty good boba drinks here with a nice variety. Especially liked the shave ice dessert (Taiwan…read moreStyle) that was huge and a little pricey but well worth the cost. It got very crowded with a line outside so this is a very popular site for primarily the Asian clientele. Located in the Haymarket District which is Chinatown next to a McDonald's- go figure. I had a mango slushy with boba pearls.- Very refreshing.

I was really hoping it'd be like the ones in LA/OC, but the line/service was confusing and…read moredisorganized, so we had people wandering around everywhere not knowing what to do. I'd suggest placing something that would designate a line formation of some kind, as guests were being blocked by the crowd, as were other employees trying to clean up. Also, there were no real menus until you see a massive amount of old, sticky, plastic menus at the front, all with random items on it. Can we get a few real menus, or a detailed one on the board instead of rotating pictures? Or maybe paper ones that lists what is in all the combos? It takes forever as everyone is asking Qs due to the awkward menu, and in between everyone bumping into everyone else, people who already ordered don't know if they got their items or not as the items are not always called out (mine wasn't). I saw a couple (me included) go up to the front to ask if a particular item was their order, only to be rudely given a yes (and a quick push of the tray) or no before the busy employees went back to the next order. It shouldn't take so long to get in line, order, and wait for a to-go order. On top of it all, their hot grass jelly was very soupy, which was unlike the ones I get in the states, which congeal as it cools. The taro and sweet yam balls were too soft, without that slight mochi-esque chew. I was disappointed in my whole experience. Don't come here, or maybe it's better during off hours...but I'd rather not risk it.
