Second, by the quality and speed of their work. Their diagnosis was spot on, their scheduled time for me was ready when I got there, the work was done in the time frame they gave me and best of all, no surprises in the bill. They are now my go-to repair shop. The Car Guys do great work and they are the definition of excellent personal service. No, I'm not paid for this review. No, I'm not connected to this business or its staff in any way. No I was not asked to review this business, but made it on my own gumption after finding the right repair shop for me. I drive a 25 year old Volvo and they keep it in top shape, reliable and running right. :D

I called made an appointment that same day. What a breath of fresh air!!! The shop was not slick, no hype to get you to buy expensive items, the man (jason) forgot his name but not his manner) He was direct, honest in pricing, great handshake, and respectful of us( we're old!) So great to see a home town business with integrity! Definitely would recommend them to anyone who needs quality tires. We were in and out in45 mins; they couldn't do alignment that day. We had tires aligned at our local Toyota dealer took 4 1/2 hours!!!ugh what a difference! Supposed to be 2 hours with appointments made days earlier.

I had the absolute worst car repair experience of my life at the Portland St.Auto &Body this past…read moreweek. My auto ran over a chunk of metal on Route 95 N near Exit 48 . It caused a flat tire immediately. AAA was called and they came and removed the flat tire and put on our spare. We then drove the car slowly to the Portland St. Auto in Bridgton and when we arrived showed them the damaged tire, rim and hubcap and described how it was caused .by running over a metal object on the highway. We asked them to repair the damages. A week later on August 6 , they said our car had been repaired for $268. We then used the car sparingly until 8/31 when we noticed that the steel belts on the replacement tire were exposed through the rubber of the tire. This was very troublesome because it meant the "repairs" to our car had lasted only 3 weeks. Also, seeing the condition of our tires it also meant we were in danger of a tire suddenly coming apart putting me and my family in danger of being in an accident. We brought the car back to Portland St. Auto immediately and asked them to fix the damages which were supposed to be fixed back on 8/6. They said that would cost $603. for a new lower arm/ball joint replacement, new tires and alignment. I spoke to the business owner,Dale about my disapointment with their work and he said that I never told them the repairs they did on 8/6 required a new lower arm replacement. I asked him why didn't they look at the under carriage of my car for damage after I had brought it to them for repairs. He refused to accept any accountability for their obvious oversight and lack of attention to detail. So my advice to any potential customers is to be very cautious about dealing with this company which lacks accountability for their work.

I have had two significant repairs done at this garage. Both were related to state inspection…read moreissues. Steve Chiocca is the owner of the business and is the guy you'll get on the phone when you call. I first went to this garage because everyone I asked in the area recommended him. Both times I called, I had to book the appointment a week or more in advance as he has a very busy shop. After the first service I saw why. Steve is very thorough with his diagnostics and doesn't try to fix things that aren't broken. He says what he's going to do and he does what he says. He doesn't over state what needs to be done and works within your budget. He also gives you an idea what future issues may be on the horizon so you can plan for the repairs. Both times I had work done there, I was pleasantly surprised with my bill. He listens to you and will present you with options on how to go about the work. He is not one of those guys that just throws more and more parts at the problem in a hit or miss approach. Steve does repairs not just parts replacements. I had a windshield wiper issue. A connection to the wiper arm had broken and it could easily have been another $200.00 to replace the components. He actually took time and repaired the connection as opposed to ordering the whole assembly. I didn't have to beg for him to keep the costs down. His approach to his work has his customers' best interests in mind. His garage is the place to go for sure. He's very knowledgeable and he even remembers your name... with a year between services. Greats job Chiocca's!
