However, on a recent trip coming back home, I made my way here to kill some time as I had the day off from work. First things first, what a nightmare to find a parking spot and to not get run over by traversing the parking area. I thought I had gone the wrong way at one point to find a spot. And when I did find a spot I was confused and thought I had to pay to park. I wish it were just easily marked on where to go here. Once parked, I found my way inside and just meandered around the space. Popping in an out of stores as I saw appealing. They really do have a ton of selections here. Huge amount of time can be lost here if you are on a time crunch. I was in no rush, so I wandered around until I had my fill of the space. My suggestion to you. Come early in the morning, you will definitely be able to get in and out of each store you need to with ample time. Less hassle in the parking lot. And less hassle walking between stores. Or, if you are up for it, travel here by Metro.

It's ever changing as many stores have come and gone. Nevertheless, this is my favorite mall to visit when we make our annual trip to DC. Tysons Corner is located in Tysons, Virginia. The parking structure is very busy and somewhat chaotic. It doesn't have the best layout and there's a lot of confusion as people maneuver through the structure. We bypass this situation by parking on the upper level. Tysons Corner is an incredibly busy mall that never seems to be empty, regardless of the time of day that you visit. This is a three story indoor shopping mall that caters to customers who want to spend serious money. They have your typical stores like Old Navy and Journeys. But then, you'll find Cartier, Louis Vuitton, and Rolex. So, there's something for everyone! Their food court section on the top level near the movie theater has seen better days. It's outdated and hidden away from the rest of the mall. All of the other eateries on the 1st and 2nd levels are pretty nice. They have restaurants like Seasons 52 and Cheesecake Factory that you'd typically find at many of the larger malls. They also have some pop up eateries in the center of the shopping center. I love coming to Tysons Corner. I am still bummed about LL Bean leaving this mall. but I still love this mall. Some stores have moved to different locations within the mall, so make sure that you check the updated directory. The best times to visit Tysons Corner are either early in the morning or about an hour before closing. If you want to get some shopping done while in the area, Tysons Corner is the place for you!

I've only seen the area from the highways that are tree lined. I am quite amazed by how out of touch I was for this area. This mall is quite expansive. The one thing I love about the DMV area is that the malls are still thriving. Not to the point where every single store is filled, but no where near dead mall territory. I had some time to kill before I had to head back home and wanting to pick up some items. Parking here had me. I wasn't sure where would be the best place to park. I ended up in the outdoor lots and didn't even want to mess with the parking structure. As a note, early here means you will encounter a slew of parents with their children in tow. Be careful and mindful in the parking lot as they will be everywhere. The mall had a bit of everything in here. The typical anchors and national chains you would expect to find in a mall. Food court area was jammed with eateries and customers. I opted to not eat here. Would definitely come back. Especially on a lazy day. Good people watching, enough stores to grab whatever you might be thinking of getting, and ample parking.

The food court is always packed with people with many different choices. The restaurants available inside the mall is always interesting. I saw a new Thai takeaway place downstairs near where Claire's used to be. The selections of the store keeps evolving. I had no idea Lululemon moved and has a bigger store now. It's hard to believe that the malls in America are dying when you see how crazy busy it is at the Mall. I couldn't find parking until I parked closer to the old Sears lot. And that was during a weekday well after Christmas and New Year's too. My nickname at work used to be the Mall Rat Haha! I can't wait to discover what new stores are coming and going the next time I return.

Otherwise the Collection at Chevy Chase will become a huge white elephant in the center of Chevy Chase Village. It is too dangerous, confusing, and difficult to park there. This is a huge disservice to people who need to go there and the businesses there, such as the Amazon Fresh grocery store.

To each their own, but be wary of the fast drivers that Mclean is famous for. I rarely go here, and am happy other spots have better choices.

In the "olden days" (i.e. the lat 80's - early 90's), I used to spend lots of time shopping on…read moreWisconsin Avenue, Mazza Gallery, Lord & Taylor and other shops that don't exist any more. The stores here aren't as exciting as they used to be. Whole Foods is a reason to come to this area (they also validate for discounted parking). There are also some nice restaurants such as Capital Grille (fully validate), PF Changs (no validation) and Maggianos (across the street). Bloomingdales is near PF Changs. There are other high end retail stores on the block. The parking garage at Wisconsin Place is approximately $3/hour. Look for street parking first (not just because it is cheaper). The garage is usually quite full so you'll need an extra 15 minutes just to circle and circle inside the garage. Take a picture of the level you parked your car to increase the chances of finding it again. Take your parking ticket with you since you can pay at the automated pay stations near the elevators.
