Hired to paint two rooms. Yes they look better , but very poor workmanship. Quality is not one of their strong suits. Had back to house twice and still not pleased. Will not call back. Signed contract which stated what needed to be painted and how many coats of paint. We all work hard for our money and when I pay for professionals to do a job I expect the job to be done right. Painter, who stated he was the owner of the business, came to my home after I contacted him regarding the very poor quality of the paint job his company did in my home. On inspection of the work to be performed, prior to the work being done, I was notified that the painter would remove pictures etc from the wall before they painted. The painters removed the pictures and left the command strips on the wall and painted over the strips, leaving the wall with old color paint patches. The owner came out to assess what had been done. He stated, "Everyone else we painted for always wants nails and the strips left up". I constantly reiterated to him that the job was poor and the old paint could be seen. He agreed that the old paint was present .The Owner became very loud and angry. he began talking over me and telling me the job was done. I had to ask him to leave my home due to hostility. They just finished staining our deck and fence - and did an outstanding job! Their price was right and the attention to detail was outstanding. They also met our deadline for an upcoming party we're hosting, despite all of the rain we've had. I recommend them highly! read more

I recently purchased an older home that had some past roof issues that left parts of the white vaulted ceilings discolored and ugly. They offered a free estimate and quoted a great price for the kitchen, living room, and dining room ceilings. They were able to add texture to the new paint to match the existing old texture and when they were done it was impossible to tell where the damage had been! They were in and out in one day and didn't get a single drop of paint anywhere on my furniture, walls, or floors. They were very courteous and listened to what I wanted. Overall, it was a great experience and saved me a lot of time, effort, and mess. I would highly recommend them! read more

My husband and I hired Mac stringer to paint basically our whole house. We were very happy with their price, very fair. Multiple people recommended them very highly, and having seen their work in other people's homes, we knew they did a quality job. They were very timely and "finished" the job in just 3 days. However, the first day of the job the excuses and cutting corners started. When the job was "finished" my husband and I noticed full brush marks of the adjacent wall colors In our living room. Some of the mouldings weren't even painted! The edging was not straight, and there was paint all over the light fixtures, floors, and toilets. We have had to call them to come back and touch things up twice now because of their lazy work. This morning was the second time they came back for touch up. We were hoping that owner Sean Stringer would be coming since he was the one we talked to about the issues we had with the end result. Sean was very apologetic and helpful with the whole process. He came to see what we were talking about and said himself that he expected a better job from his crew. However, his brother Nick (who did the job in the first place) showed up and started making excuses and even disrespecting my husband and arguing with him in our own home! He told us that these imperfections (things that Sean had apologized to us for) are normal and acted like we were hassling him to come back and fix his own lazy work. I would NOT discourage anyone from hiring them just because of the job they did, they did come back twice to fix things and that was great. I WOULD discourage people from hiring them simply because of the attitude of Nick Stringer. He has been very rude and disrespectful to both of us since day one. This is not the way to treat customers who are paying thousands of dollars to have the job done right. If we didn't have to interact with Nick Stringer, our experience would have been much more positive (reason for 2 star review instead of 1). Everyone else was very nice, respectful and enjoyable to work with. It is sad that the reputation of this company has to be brought down by one employee's bad attitude and poor treatment of customers. I felt like since we are a young couple who have never hired painters before, Nick tried to take advantage of that and do a lazy job and expected us to believe him when he said that it was normal. Very poor painting job. They did not sand anything even though the contract stated sanding of rough areas. They got paint on my new composite deck. Had to call them back out to paint doors and they were not supposed to paint my garage door but they did anyways and painted it shut!! I would NEVER hire them to paint anything again. I'm not happy with this business and will not use them again. They stained our deck in mid-November and only gave me 30min warning before they arrived to power wash. They did a great job on the railings but the deck surface now the following summer looks terrible because, let's face it, this is Rochester and it was snowing when they were finishing. They do offer a guarantee for 1 year but tack you on the end of their schedule to do it. Now they are saying they probably won't get to this easy touch-up job until Spring! This is the beginning of September. We paid a lot of money to preserve our deck and did not get the quality we expected for the price. read more
