Recently Retired Military Family Review: Worst experience shopping. Ever. Have shopped there once before because they have a nice selection for dance teams (my daughter) and the sales associate, Stacie (owners daughter) is VERY helpful. A shame the owner is so ignorant. Went today for some dance stuff and for my son to buy some umpire gear. No problem until I broke out my phone to see if they had other umpire pants out there for sale that weren't wool. (They only had wool in the store.). The owner walked up to me while on my phone researching pants and got on to me for trying on clothes and not buying anything. Before I go any further, it turns out there are better pants. Also turns out that the shirts they were selling were marked up in the store than the price available on line. ($17 online vs $29 in store / 32% higher). When it got confrontational, cause I told him his prices were marked way up, he tried to justify it by saying he's "just trying to make a livin'." Not an intelligent businessman.. and we enjoy shopping local. Unbeknownst to him, my wife was at the counter purchasing $100+ dollars of dance apparel in addition to an umpire belt and cap. At this point he asked me to leave (unaware of the impending purchase.). I was befuddled. I pointed him to my wife at the counter and shared what we were purchasing and he said "maybe you don't need to buy that either". At this point the Stacie, behind the counter, was showing signs of embarrassment (face in her hands) and apologizing about her father. Now everyone in the store was aware of the incident. The owner had been very animated. Another shopper stopped and walked out. I told my wife it was up to her if she wanted to buy the dance gear, (if allowed) but do not buy the umpire belt and cap. She asked the sales lady what she wanted us to do, and she said she'd be happy to finish the purchase. She even threw in some ribbon for free. I hate it for her.. but that was the last dollar we'll spend in that place. Really shouldn't have bought that. Unbelievable! Highly recommend you seek another place to shop. So sad. read more

A long time Montgomery sporting goods store - always has a great selection of great running shoes and no junk. Very knowledgeable staff and owners that work the store. It is not the prettiest store you will ever visit, but I was there for running shoes and that is what this review is about. If you are a budget conscious runner, they usually have good deals on last year's model. I bought a pair of Brooks Ghost 3 (last years model) for $80 plus tax. About the same price as everywhere else with one notable exception - An experienced runner helped me find the shoe that liked my feet!!! A lot of their business seems to revolve around organized sports and running. So if that is what you are looking for, you are going to find a better selection and higher quality items there. read more

What an incredible experience we had buying our twin four-year-olds their first tee ball gear. Mr MacClendon Worked with the boys to help them figure out whether they are lefties all righties and showed them the basics. Even let them hit whiffle balls in the store to find the right bats. Just a great experience. Yes, we may have saved a dollar or two going to a big box store buying the wrong junky equipment but this was absolutely worth it and a true gem. read more

Will never shop here again. Owner wouldn't let us try on a pair of baseball pants for sizing for a team order. I told her I needed to see how the Mizzunos fit for a team order. She didnt think she was getting the sale and refused to let my son try them on. Little did she know but we were going to buy 3500.00 worth of equipment from them. She thought I was trying to save a few bucks and order them on line. Not the best way to treat people. No real reason to drive across town to be treated like this. WDE read more

Great people! Peggy sent me a pair of running shoes to me when I was deployed to Iraq with 3ID and even followed up to make sure they worked. This is a great example of why it is best to invest in a local owned business, instead of a big box store. read more

Some of the rudest people in the business, bar none! Highest prices anywhere. Will never shop there again. Horrible. Hard to believe they are still in business. Dick's, Academy, online stores, all are better than this place. read more
