Not a community vibe at all. In fact, it's quite Unwelcoming. As a beginner, I purchased yarn from their store & was told to feel free to contact them with questions while knitting my sweater. However, when I called them with a simple question, I was referred to take a private class, rather than giving me a chance to trouble shoot with them on the phone. I did not wish to spend money on a private class when my question could be resolved thru a chat. Earlier this week, I dropped by the store and the woman working there was unapproachable & insists that she can only answer questions by appointment. As such, despite it being a storefront with regular hours Monday to Sunday, they operate by "appointment only" if you have a question. In contrast, I had a very positive & pleasant experience calling another local knitting store today & my question was resolved in a few minutes by a kind person. I would not recommend knit-o-matic.

I started shopping at Roma Textiles back in the early nineties and must say I admire their business practices. You get some of the best materials and notions at reasonable prices with much needed information from Frank. In case you're not convinced of what my opinion of this store, here's proof. I've moved 3500 kilometers from the vicinity and who did I call first? They have the products I need at a price I can afford with the right personality to keep me shopping there.

Roma Textiles has a large inventory that is neatly displayed. Their staff are helpful but discrete. Their emphasis is on wovens, with only the tiniest bit of knits. But their selection is marvelous. Like LA Fabrics on Queen, but on steroids. A huge and beautiful assembly of embroidered, beaded, and embellished fabrics. If you are looking for fabric for evening wear/bridal, this is your place. If you are looking for fabrics for day wear that skews to business formal, you will find an amazingly beautiful selection of lightweight, couture-house name silks, fabrics appropriate for trousers, skirts, fitted suits, etc. Menswear suit-type woolens were to be found in all weights, colours, patterns (pinstripes, houndstooth, etc). Suitings of all manner. I agree with Roma M.'s assessment - upon setting foot in this place, your mind immediately starts spinning with ideas for couture-style pieces. Prices are quite reasonable for the calibre of the fabrics, IMO. Also, they have out on their table the oh-so-wonderful Marfy pattern catalog to browse (as well as other glossy Italian couture periodicals). It was the current issue and apparently the order it regularly. So if you, like me, get very irritated with Marfy's on-line browsing facility, you could flip through actual paper pages of the catalog (though you'll still need to place the order yourself). Roma Textiles doesn't carry any patterns, not that you would expect them to, given the clientele that they cater to (i.e., dressmakers, designers, etc - those who draft their own patterns).

It was also silicone and was going for a reduced price of $2. As much as I loved the food and kitchen accessories, everything else in the store wasn't as interesting to me. Maybe I have visited too many HomeSense stores with cool items as of late. Other than my two items that I purchased, everything else was okay. I eventually made it to the checkout to pay for my items. I had a cheerful woman who helped me with my transaction. All went well. I'll come back down the road to check out the store some more. HomeSense is a large department store with brand name products at very decent prices…read more It's part of parent TJX Companies holding that also includes Winners & Marshalls so you might notice some similarities in how all these stores is layed out. HomeSense stores have brand name merchandise for any room in your home including art, furniture, lighting and rugs. The consumer target market is drop-in customers as you can't shop on-line (...which is currently the case). On any given week they can stock a product you may never see stocked again. Other HomeSense stores may not have the same product on hand. If you like it, then I suggest you buy as you can always return it if you change your mind. Staff are helpful and checkouts are fairly quick.

I was at HomeSense 7575 Weston Road Woodbridge today at 7pm. A dog pooped on the floor by Gallery…read moreisle. 3 people almost stepped on it. I advised the cashier there's poop on the floor. 10 minutes passed, it was still on the floor. I advised another staff member who rudely responded to me and said "I know I know, we've already been told" then turned her back to me. I told her I'm trying to be nice and helping them avoid avoid a situation where people would step on it. She responded and was rude about it again. I asked to speak with a manager I was told the manager is on break. I walked away. Another 5 minutes passed same girl and the assistant manager proceeded to clean the poop. As they walked by I said "it's about time somebody attended to it." The assistant manager rudely responded, we didn't know and was very confrontational. I said I reported twice, how do you not know. I asked to speak to a manager above her, I was then told that there is no manager on duty. I left and called the store (905) 850-8131, the assistant manager answered. I asked to speak to a manager, she told me that no manager tonight and for the rest of the weekend. After a few words back and forth she hung up on me, accused me of being rude to her and her staff. I called back again, she was rude and she hung up again. Not very good customer service at all after trying to help them prevent customers from stepping on dog poop. I'll be reporting this to Corporate office.
