When I wanted to buy it she advised me it's not on sale, but full price. I showed her the online price and told her I had seen the fabric with my own eyes on sale on Aug 3rd, but she advised me to buy it online instead. I would have , but the shipping cost is $15. I wrote customer service, but nobody got back to me. The whole experience was beyond frustrating.

My friend explained what he was looking for, and the guy didn't seem to get it. He kept showing him alternatives that weren't quite right, and each one required a few minutes going to the front or the back to get a roll. All in all, we spent an hour and a half in there, which is just too long. I think my friend ended up leaving happy, but honestly I don't recall the end result because I remember the journey to get there was so long!

The Workroom is an absolutely beautiful fabric store - likely the nicest I've been in. With most…read moreof the Queen West stores just stuffed with bolts and bolts of fabric, and (my beloved) Fabricland being fairly far out of my way and only carrying the Big Four patterns, The Workroom is a lovely alternative, with a good selection of indie patterns and curated designer fabric selections. The staff are generally friendly and knowledgeable. My only "complaint", which isn't really a complaint, is that it's quite expensive compared to the alternatives. I recognize that this is a small business and they need to make money, and stock independent pattern companies and more unique fabrics...but I just find that even with their sale weekends and promotions such as "spend x and get y percentage off", the savings are rarely significant enough for me to actually participate.

They'll sell small amounts as little as half a yard. Their silk selection was huge as was the linen. Lots of houndstooth, Prince of Wales checked design, and Tweedy looking fabrics.

What were we looking for: a soft, but a certain thickness fabric, solid green or blue. We walked down queen st west and this was one of the stores we walked into. It's a mess in here. It's impossible to look for anything. This is pretty common between all the other fabric stores around, but this one was unbearable. You can't even walk through the aisle, oh wait! there's hardly even an aisle. This place was one of the most uncomfortable places to search for fabric. There was two workers at the time when we entered, one was really quiet and really friendly, but kind of didn't know much when we asked her for help. She asked the other worker if she had any recommendation. The second lady knew quiet a few, but none was in our price range! We told her numerous of times of our price range and she was like, I KNOW THE EXACT ONE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR....and it was over our price range. But, as she was helping, she seemed not amused to serve us and sighed quiet a few times, giving us the feeling we were unwanted in there. My aunt politely told her, we might come back later and we just walked out. I don't recommend this place for anyone who is new to fabric or is unsure about what to use. They have tons and tons to choose from, so if you have a lot of time on your hands and in need of many options, give this place a try. Also, their prices are typical for fabric, but the ones she displayed to us was pretty pricey.
