Several weeks ago, I experienced some damage to the tailgate of my brand new 2023 Mazda CX5 when it came into contact with my garage door after a malfunction. Needless to say, I was very upset about this. I went online to research and locate an auto body shop in the area, after having learned that the owner of my trusted auto repair shop in Providence from prior decades in RI had recently died of cancer which, of course, saddened me greatly and only added to my troubles. I live in Newport and am new to that area as I had recently moved north from SoFL to become a candidate for a lung transplant at MassGeneral in Boston. I felt very much alone and isolated and the last thing I needed was to deal with this unexpected and, I feared, costly auto body repair experience and dealing with a new shop. Mac Enterprises caught my eye online because of its stellar reviews and promises to work with my insurance company and, hopefully, cover my $500 deductible, as my old friend Gerry at Antone Auto body in Providence had always kindly done in 'the old days', and provide a courtesy rental under my policy as he also always had done, both of which services had greatly softened the impact of the damage. I feared those days of personal service and kindness in this business were things of the past and doubted I could find a shop to match the past service I was used to under such circumstances. Not to denigrate the excellent customer service, kindness and quality of repairs I had come to expect from my prior shop, but I was wrong about doubting I could find such qualities at a new shop, and my doubts went out the proverbial window when I contacted Mac Enterprises! Jackie at Mac proved to me that each of those five star reviews, which sometimes in this cynical age give us pause to doubt the accuracy/honesty of such reviews, were only the tip of the iceberg of the quality of the work, the excellent personal service by the team, especially on Jackie's part in softening the stress inherently involved in such circumstances and overall making the experience an unexpected pleasure! I spoke with Jackie yesterday on the phone about my car being ready for pick up and my returning the rental provided by Mac at no cost to me along with absorbing my deductible. I was excited by the anticipation of seeing my brand new car in brand new condition once again, thanks to Jackie and the team at Mac. She and they did not disappoint! When I arrived at Mac, I was in and out of the shop in under 5 minutes, thanks to Jackie, and we hugged each other to say goodbye and thanks for making the entire experience such a positive one. Putting my car in Vinny's hands is the best thing I could have done. He is easy to get along with, has an artistic eye, made good suggestions and came up with his estimate while talking and explaining to me as we walked around my car. He took my old Camry 2004, scratched and beaten up, replaced the rear fender, repainted the hood, took out most of the scratches back to front on both sides. And managed to replace the missing emblem without replacing the whole grill. He didn't fix just the big ticket items. My brand new car was hit by debris on the highway. My insurance company quoted me extremely low. I was so overwhelmed with having no rental insurance, a $1000 deductible and 2 children to get back and forth to school and sports. Jessica made the process as smooth as possible! They pushed back on my insurance company and then Mac waived my deductible and covered a rental for me! The girls in the office were so friendly and nice. The paint job on my car is flawless. Jessica handled the estimating and insurance dealings for my Acura with great efficiency and keeps in touch regularly to keep you aware of how things are going with your repairs.
