I love coming to Mac they always have the most beautiful eyeshadow brushes around and they have a very white selection of foundation for many years. I made us take a thinking that NW was my color and couldn't figure out why it wasn't matching. It wasn't the right shade. Now my go to is NC-17, which is more of a golden tone, but putting blush and bronzer on it it works out perfect This location the staff is always friendly always the first one to suggest new products they have. I was sad to see that they got rid of the recycling program in March and got a lot of bad feedback to be more understanding realizing that this is not something that the store is responsible for it's something that was nationwide and they could still recycle your stuff but just no free product, which is unfortunate but you know I learned this the hard way the other day when I came in to recycle and they informed me that they could no longer give a free product. I was sad to hear this, of course but I would not retaliate against a company for something that they have no control over. It won't stop me from shopping here. I still left to come here every time I am in the area I always end up picking up something anyways, I recommend you don't know your shade get color matched. It takes only a few minutes and they will make sure that you leave with the perfect color. They could also color match you for concealer. Overall, my experience was awesome here the staff was amazing and I found a lot of new products. My favorite go to blush is warm so it's a bronzer and blush and one it's very pretty so I recommend next time you go in there check it out. It works for all shades and it's a very pretty color. It's one of my girl shoes. I will definitely be coming back here again very soon. Next time I am in the area For more future visits and we're great expenses to come. Thank you Mac guys are awesome. This review is directed to MAC employees only! The lady who helped me was very nice, I believe she worked for Macys. I was waiting at the MAC area for 10 minutes, no employees were there so I walked towards the other makeup area so someone could help me. I came in to purchase some items and exchange my disposable MAC items for eye shadows. The lady who helped me was in the process of completing that for me, but she went inside the side door and I guess a MAC employee was in there and said I couldn't exchange it for eyeshadows and only lipsticks. She told her that I needed to visit the actual MAC store. I've always exchanged my disposable's for eyeshadow at the downtown location so I'm not sure when that changed? My sister exchanged her disposables last month at that same location and she was told she could only exchange 18 items. The inconsistency is what bothers me about the employees at this location. Why pick and choose what you want to offer your customers? I'm so fed up with the service at MAC, I'm going to switch my daily makeup use to a different brand. I don't want to deal with the inconsistency experience. read more

Hai did my makeup for my law school graduation pics and she delivered! I wanted a natural look, and showed her pictures of eyeshadow I had in mind and she definitely exceeded my expectations. Great conversation. Also, she was the only person on the floor and managed to help me and other customers until another associate came out on the floor. I'll definitely come back to this location. Most of my facial products are from Mac. Since I work in downtown, I prefer going here during my lunch hour. They are always short of staff and they are not knowledgeable whenever I inquire about products. Also, some of the staffs are not as friendly. read more

MAC just has it all! Always good makeup. But with covid and not being able to try it on is a pain when you are doing something new as a foundation. I went from heavy coverage to light with all new types of products. The finish did not match my skin tone and I'm already 60 days out. Luckily, I was able to give it to my daughter and I'm using my studio fix as a finish, just lightly. But I love the look so it works. Please come to EG, and I don't mean Ulta either!! I'm not one to go back with returns unless I am buying more. I hope there will be a better solution. read more

In Sacramento, there are only three MAC locations. Two counters, and one free standing store. This location so happens to be one of the three while the other two are in Arden Fair mall. I'd have to say that the customer service here is astounding! Every time I've come to this location, I always feel welcomed compared to the counter and free standing store in Arden. The MA's here are really sweet and help you out when asked. They don't smother you to buy their products which I love. Another plus is that this is the closest MAC counter to my house, a 5 minute drive compared to the 20 minute drive to Arden so that's always a plus. They do come out with collections a bit early that it's supposed to be, which is always good but call beforehand. They also let you write down your name and # for them to contact you when a popular item is out but soon to come in. They also do the Back2Mac program here if you're wondering as well. read more

I recently started buying Mac again after very few purchases over the past few years. After visiting the Mac counter at Nordstrom and spending a pretty penny on several items this past summer and getting just so so service; i decided to give the downtown Macys location a try. I was so pleasantly surprised. One on one attention from the sales lady and makeup artist was a great touch. She also explained their makeup application pricing $60;for an hour of un- interrupted instruction and application or $30 of products for 30 mins of time. I made several purchases this holiday season due to a great sale and special they have on their Mac holiday collection. Each time the sales consultants were helpful and patient with me. I booked a 30 minute make up application for a holiday party and the male artist did a great job on glam ming me up for my evening. Highly recommend this counter for all of your Mac products! read more

I stopped by on a Monday to inquire about getting my makeup done for a Wednesday night (a BIG birthday). I was told that an appointment wouldn't be necessary since I was willing to wait patiently and didn't want a full face application. I was relieved because I work and can't get time off before 5pm (their last appointment was at 4pm). Long story short, I showed up Wednesday around 6pm only to be told by the manager who was on her way out that they couldn't help me. Period. Even after I said I could wait! Needless to say, they totally left me hanging on my birthday. She wasn't even the least but remorseful... no apology. And to top it off, after a Laura Mercier rep heard about it and VOLUNTEERED to do my makeup (he did a fantastic job too!!), I watched the guy at the MAC counter literally PLAY for the next 20 minutes. He didn't have one customer that whole time. Don't rely on this unprofessional staff for your big occasion. I know I will be taking all my business to Laura Mercier or MAC in Arden. read more

I took my best friend to get her make-up done for 21st birthday and let me just say, Caesar hooked my girl up with the most flawless, natural look! I wanted my friend to feel extra pretty on this big day, but at the same time I was extremely hesitant to take my friend to MAC because they're known for their heavier make-up looks. Not to mention my friend wears little to no make-up, nor has she ever had her make-up done. When we got there my friend explained to Caesar that she wanted a lighter look, and he was so understanding. I really appreciated the fact that he actually listened to what she was asking for rather then blowing her off and doing what he thought would look better. Through out the whole process he kept updating my friend on what he was doing and asked for her input. By the end she was soooo satisfied and pleased with her natural glowly, J-lo inspired look and I was even more pleased to know my best friend felt so pretty on her special day. Mission Accomplished! Made an appointment to have my makeup done for an event and to update my look by buying some items for contouring. MAC stores/counters have always led to a sub par experience in customer service, but not here! Erica promptly took me at my scheduled appointment time and immediately inquired as to what I needed. She took the time to apply the makeup and explain step by step on what/why she was doing with minimal interruption. This was by far the best experience I have had at a makeup counter! I would highly recommend her as a makeup artist if you are looking to make an appointment or drop by to update your look. I left the store with exactly the items I was looking for, perfectly done makeup, and a sample for an item that I was looking to try out. Overall, a great experience and I will come back to this counter for future MAC purposes rather than the Arden store location. P.S. If you parked in the Macy's parking lot don't forget to have the parking validated if you make a purchase. read more

Get your make up done (with appointment) with at least a $50 purchase of any cosmetics. Have gotten my make-up done here at this specific location for one Homecoming, my Junior Prom and Senior Ball. Flexible with days and time appointments. Great customer service, great conversation. They make you feel at home, which is great because the whole make up applying takes at least 45 minutes. And even though you have to buy $50 worth of cosmetics to get your make up done, you most likely end up LOVING something they used on your make up so just take some home! This location is located in Westfield Downtown Plaza. I book my apts HERE because ARDEN is always way too crowded. This is the place to go to for a MAC-do or a shopping day for make up. read more

The manager, Sherice Davis, is an AMAZING make-up artist and person. She did my make-up for my college graduation and I have to say, she gave me a very classic, polished look. I went in not knowing exactly what I wanted because I felt the colors I normally wear didn't match my navy blue dress and graduate gown. Sherice knew exactly what colors to use and still took my personal taste into account. She also did a spectacular job covering up my blemishes; I really couldn't believe how flawless my skin looked! On top of the beautiful face she gave me, she also gave me great conversation. I felt so comfortable with her and was so happy with the appointment. I really wanted to tip, but apparently it is against their policy, so all I do now is let everyone know how great Sherice is at the MAC counter in the downtown Sacramento Macy's!!! thanks Sherice! read more

I agree that Tabitha is the best! I have visited Mac counters since 2009 first time in Los Angeles at the Grove in Nordstrom and I was told unless I make a $50.00 purchase they could only make up one eye. The young lady that was helping was very nice her manager told her to tell us that, I felt it was because I was black. By the way we felt since the young lady had a quota we made a nice size purchase. Well, since then I have made purchases from Macy's and Mac stores in LA, Sacramento, Modesto, etc... The sad part is the customer service is horrible until Tabitha who is at the Macy's in Sacramento on K St. I feel whenever I have visited a store the sales reps treat you like they are doing you a favor or I am usually ignored for a while. I was so frustrated with the customer service that for the last month I tried other brands and nothing was like Mac. So yesterday I just sucked it up and went back to the Macy's Mac counter and met Tabitha. I told her my concerns and she made my visit pleasant, plus I just now learned about the recycle program. Overall, I gave a three because of my experience with Tabitha and because of previous bad experiences. Mac if you could teach your makeup artists to give great customer service as well as they wear their makeup you would always score a 5. read more

I love MAC make up, and I've been using their products since I was a teenager. The make up artists are always friendly and helpful. The make up is high quality and long lasting. They have a great recycle program, when you bring back six MAC products you get a free lipstick! Now that I have two little ones, I don't have much time to apply make up. So my everyday "Mommy make-up" is my MAC Select Sheer compact and MAC Bronzer. The Select Sheer provides a light to medium coverage, and the Bronzer gives a nice healthy glow without making me look orangy or brassy. MAC is simply the best! read more

I like to get my lashes here from time to time because they are much better quality than the ones available at Target/Walmart/CVS/etc. Prior to the visit I am writing about today, I had purchased lashes two or three times from different girls that were working. The girls are usually pleasant, cheerful, and assist me in choosing a pair without me even having to ask. Today I went in towards the end of my lunch break. Considering it only takes about five minutes or so from purchase to application, I had no reason to suspect any issues would arise to make this visit any different from usual, right? Wrong! So I wait in line as two people ahead of me are paying for their purchases. When it's my turn, this girl asks how she can help me and I told her I was interested in picking up some lashes. She asks if I knew which ones I wanted and I said no and then she points towards the display on a different table and tells me the lashes are over there. I was a little taken aback at this response because I was used to the staff being more attentive than this girl and I stood there silent for a moment and then said, "Oh.. oh-kaayy...." and walked over to the lashes. I assume she took a hint because she followed me to the display and we had a short conversation about the styles and I ended up just picking one that looked alright and told her I needed them applied because I had removed mine at work before I went to the counter. She motioned for me to sit in the chair and told me she would be right there to apply them and touch up my liner. I sat and waited. She comes over and then tells me to pay for them now (which was odd because they normally ask me to pay AFTER they are applied and she had just asked me to sit down but whatever) She took my card and went to the register and I just sat there and waited because it didn't seem like she wanted me to follow her. She came back to return my card and told me I needed to go enter my pin on the machine at the register so I did and then returned to the seat. So as I'm sitting there waiting, she comes to set something down on the little table thing next to the chair I'm in and tells me she's going to ring up some other customer that had just walked up and then she walks away from me to help her. Just like that! She didn't ask me if I would mind her helping someone else, didn't bother to ask if I was in a hurry, and I didn't even have a chance to respond before she was talking to this other customer. Of course it took what seemed like FOREVER (it was a few minutes but when you're in a hurry 5 minutes seems like an hour, doesn't it!) and I was visibly impatient and frustrated. There were like 3 or 4 other employees that were working with customers so why the heck do I have to wait again. Initially, I was willing to forgive the rudeness upon an apology which I had assumed I would receive whenever she decided to come back and finish helping me.. but when she finally came back and I said to her that I had to get back to work really soon, there was no response from her but in my peripheral I noticed she had turned to look at me. I turned my head and looked back at her and we made eye contact for a good 2-3 seconds before she replied, "Okay." and maintained the stare for another couple seconds before she looked back down at what she was doing. That's what reaaaalllyy made me upset. Cue another few minutes and she's finally done. She went to hand me what I thought was the mirror for me to see how my eyes looked but NOPE! It was the little plastic box that my lashes came out of. "Here." I told her I wanted my receipt (it was still in the printer at the register) and she said "Oh." before getting it and handing it to me. I asked for her name before I left. Erika. (Or Erica?) Could I have come in earlier so I wouldn't be rushed? Of course. Would I have needed to come in earlier if she had given me her undivided attention from start to finish? Nope. Would I be writing this Yelp review and contacting her manager tomorrow to let them know about their rude Eric/ka if she apologized instead of getting pissy when I alluded I was in a hurry? Negative. I was two minutes late when I made it back to work from my break which really isn't a big deal but, you know.. it's just one of those situations when the principle is what makes you mad enough to say something. I'm nobody special with my $10 Mac falsies but neither are you on your stupid high horse. read more

Every worker I've met here is great they know what they're doing when it comes to makeup but yet they're so humble. Joel, Geraldine, and Jackie are always so helpful with their recommendations. Anytime I think Mac it's always this location since the freestanding store at mac is a complete different story I try to avoid it as much as I can however be prepared for this mac counter to not carry certain things like the $6 eyeshadow pans and the empty palettes I believe. read more

I come here quite often when I want to make an appointment to have my make-up done for events and I seem to get the results I want every time. I actually prefer this store over all the other MAC's in the area so I am extremely glad that this Macy's is still around! The staff here are usually pretty friendly and the make-up artists seem very knowledgeable of their products and services. They are definitely good at what they do and make sure they provide the best service. I feel great after each session and the artists really know how to make your skin look flawless and they make sure that you are satisfied with everything. Not to mention, they are more than happy to help serve your needs as much as possible with the results you want. I would highly recommend this MAC overall! This is the second time that I have gotten makeup done by Joel at the MAC counter at Macy's and he has done a wonderful job both times. He is able to give you anything from subtle/conservative to fierce/unapologetic artistry with his makeup tool belt. He has an eye for color, synchronicity and creativity. After I performed on a dance squad the first go round with his makeup, literally every other girl on my dance squad asked me who did my makeup. The second time I went to him for makeup, I could not bump into a fellow dancer on the way to my makeup appointment. He is gifted and I will coming back a third time : ) read more

Tabitha is the best! I hate makeup. So when I had a Skype-based interview I was in a panic to make myself look good on those awful computer cameras. I showed up at 9:30 am with no appointment the week before Xmas. Tabitha was kind enough to get my makeup done even though she was working the counter alone. While she did my makeup she periodically stopped to tend to customers. Every interaction she had was courteous and women left with smiles. She was efficient and friendly while working on me. Made a same day appt and was able to be seen, even after i called a couple times to push back the time due to running late. I must say that the service here is amazing! I love how its open and not congested like the Arden location and you dont feel rushed to leave. For my makeup, I was tag teamed by Jowell and Geraldine. Jowell prepped my face and Geraldine finished with eyes and lips. They both did an amazing job! Loved how they enhanced my features and didnt just cake it on. I showed Geraldine the color of dress i was wearing that evening and she knew what to do. In the end, i couldnt be any happier. My honey too. He was wowed! Lol. I received sooo many compliments at the wedding to where i thought i was taking away the brides spotlight. Lol. Ill be back for sure until i can master my own makeup application. Lol. I made an appointment at this MAC location for my engagement photo shoot and I have never had my makeup done here before. I have to say that i will be coming back to this location for any occasion for my makeup. I walked in with my back out feeling horribe and in pain. These girls not only made me feel better but made me feel and look AMAZING!! Summer did my makeup and she did an amazing job for my pictures. She knew what my makeup was for and as she did my makeup, she was explaining to me what products she was using, not to try to sell it, but just describing each product as she was using them.
