I highly recommend Stanford Fertility…read more At age 34, my husband and I chose to freeze embryos, which allowed me to return to school for my nursing degree without the fear that I might lose my ability to have children later in life. That decision turned out to be life-changing. Now at age 40, Stanford Fertility has given my family so much joy. We have a healthy, happy 22-month-old son, and I am currently 7 weeks pregnant with our baby girl. We are about to graduate to obstetrics, a milestone that still feels surreal. Because my father passed away when I was very young, I do not know much about my family medical history. Stanford's genetic testing gave us tremendous peace of mind. We were able to screen our embryos for many genetic conditions in addition to my own genetic testing, which helped us move forward with confidence. We worked closely with Dr. Nakajima, Dr. Milki, and the entire Stanford Fertility team. They always made me feel comfortable, took the time to explain each step, and treated us with compassion and respect throughout the process. We chose Stanford Fertility over other programs because of Stanford's rigorous hiring practices, and we truly believe they employ the most exceptional physicians and staff. We are deeply grateful for the care we received and for the joy Stanford Fertility has brought to our family.

Viji is truly one of a kind. Every mother deserves someone like her by their side during their…read morebirth journey. After a traumatic first pregnancy and postpartum preeclampsia, I was considered high-risk during my second pregnancy as well. Around 32 weeks, I started seeing elevated blood pressure readings along with severe white coat syndrome. I was anxious and searching for support, and that's when I found Viji. Even before our first consultation, I had a strong feeling that she was God-sent -- a true blessing -- and that feeling only grew stronger with time. Viji stepped in with so much calm, confidence, and care. She took everything upon herself and made sure I was prepared in every possible way -- physically, mentally, and emotionally. She guided me through provider decisions, helped me find the right midwifery care, and thoughtfully connected me with an exceptional midwife, Lin Lee, who aligned perfectly with my needs. Because of Viji's discernment and support in building the right team around me, my entire experience was completely different from my first pregnancy. The birth itself felt smooth and empowering -- no tears, no episiotomy, and my blood pressure remained well controlled throughout. What truly sets Viji apart is how deeply she cares and how holistic her approach is. She took the time to understand my full medical history and personal background, worked to get to the root of my previous complications, and helped me navigate provider complexities with clarity and confidence. She also combined her Jyotish knowledge to help identify the most supportive and auspicious timing for my induction, which brought me an incredible sense of peace and trust going into labor. During labor, Viji was there through it all. She supported me with Ayurvedic care, calming massages, constant reassurance, and gentle guidance. She made sure I was comfortable, grounded, and never felt alone. She even stayed with me through the entire night -- watching over me, advocating for me, and helping me make important decisions when I was exhausted and vulnerable. Because of Viji, my second birth experience became healing, empowering, and beautiful. She didn't just help me prepare for birth -- she helped me heal from my past experience and trust my body again. I will always be grateful for her presence, her wisdom, and the love she brought into one of the most important moments of my life. I thank God every day for leading me to her at exactly the right time.

I first came to Viji as a very anxious and overwhelmed mother, desperately trying to stay afloat in the struggles of parenthood. At the time, I had no idea what I was getting into, but I just knew I needed help. From day one, Viji completely blew me away with her depth of knowledge, insight, and intuition. Beyond that, she is incredibly caring and consistently goes above and beyond to support her clients. Through our work together, I've gained a deeper understanding of my inner makeup, which has empowered me to take greater control of my life and has profoundly impacted how I show up as a mother and wife. My mind was truly blown when she began incorporating Ayurveda and Jyotish (Vedic Astrology) to help explain what I was experiencing physically, emotionally, and energetically, and to guide how I move through my life. I have also integrated therapeutic bodywork and the Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) into my work with Viji, which has only deepened the healing process. The way she thoughtfully weaves together her diverse offerings is incredible and deeply supportive. She is truly a one-stop shop for healing on every level. I am deeply grateful for the care, insight, and dedication she has brought to my journey. Viji is absolutely amazing, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. My only regret is not starting this work with her sooner.

However, Shuqing also has a deep understanding of the IVF process and works collaboratively with my REI physician and treatment schedule to prepare my body for success. She has been a true partner with me to navigate this process. She is gentle (no pain with the needles), an attentive listener, and extremely caring when my anxiety is high (which is always). I've tried several acupuncture clinics and all were good, but this stands out as the place to go to be best supported in your fertility journey. I use my HSA funds and there are discounts for purchasing multi-session packages.

I went for 3 days to induce my pregnancy. Started at 38 weeks and gave birth a week early at 39 weeks. Weasley would ask me to walk for 30 minutes with induction needles in my skin. Then I would spend the rest of the time lying down with needles. The experience of being induced with needles is wild. I would feel a flutter during the walk. Those were contractions!! I had read that not everyone gets relief from acupuncture, but it was worth a shot for me since it was my last resort, and I am so glad I did! Before acupuncture last spring, I was taking allergy pills twice a day, using a daily nasal spray and eye drops daily, just to get through the season. After just a couple of weeks of treatment, I was able to sit outside with pollen literally falling on me and have no symptoms! I was also able to reduce my medications down to one pill a day. That had never happened to me before. I'm now back again because my symptoms returned in the winter, and I feel confident knowing this is something that actually helps when nothing else has. If you're someone who's been told "this is just how it is" with allergies, I can't recommend acupuncture here enough. It's made a meaningful difference in my quality of life. Dr. Shasta has also tailored treatments if I'm feeling other issues, like last time helped me with my stomach pain. She is very thoughtful and caring and I am so glad I found her.

I had the pleasure to work with Cathryn and Yun Hee and they both helped me a lot in my journey to get pregnant again.  I finally got pregnant early this year! I can't say for sure that acupuncture helped me conceive entirely or it was just a major coincidence, but it did help me de-stress, relax, and have an hour to myself of peace and quiet.  I highly recommend Lokahi Acupuncture for all your fertility needs or just to de-stress in general! There was no one at the desk at first, but one of the acupuncturists soon came out and checked me in. She showed me where the restrooms were, asked me to take a seat and said my acupuncturist would soon be with me. My acupuncturist asked me some health questions in the private room where I was to have my treatment. She listened and didn't dismiss anything I said like my regular doctor often does. Then she explained where she would be inserting the needles and why. She also went into detail about what I could expect during the session, which I appreciated. Most of the needle insertions were painless, but a few hurt a bit. The pain went away quickly. The acupuncturist turned out the lights and left the room as I laid on my back on the table with the needles in me. I couldn't feel them as long as I didn't move. I'm not sure how long I laid there, but it was very warm and relaxing with gentle music playing. I almost fell asleep. I had a button I could press if I needed help and the acupuncturist checked on me a couple times. She removed the needles and then had me rollover on to my stomach for cupping on my upper back to help with pain relief in my neck and shoulders. After the session my migraine was gone and my neck and shoulder pain had decreased. I made several more appointments and look forward to them.
