This was my 1st time taking this train to the last stop I wanted to get to the Bronx via the 3 train at 145th st. and then transfer onto the 19 bus to cross the bridge. I messed up. I stayed on to 148 by mistake and had to take the downtown 1 stop for 145th. The conduct did announce that only the first 5 cars would open at 145th st. yet did not give a newbie like myself time to count the cars and run to the car I needed to be in and I ended up unable to get off and heading back downtown. Sad. Why announce what section of the train we need to be in if the doors are gonna close as soon as you do so?

When hopping around on the upper west side it's convenient to take back to the UES/Yorkville area where I live. Much cheaper than a cab. Usually it's pretty close to the times on the schedule but it's dependent on the weather, traffic, and annoying riders making the bus stop at every damn corner! Some people are just too damn lazy to walk a block or two! What is up with that? What I do like about these buses is that the AC is usually cranked up. During this heat wave I just get on the bus and remove my pants to ride in cold air comfort. People stare at me. Cops chase me off the bus. Wait - is that illegal?

Heading downtown to new adventures!…read more Hopped on this bus on the west side heading downtown. It's pretty much the West Harlem local running down Broadway to Times Square. With all the traffic, stop and go, and people seeming to get on and off at every damn corner it was enough to almost make me go postal! Seemed like a good idea at the time but I could have gotten off and jogged downtown to my destination faster than riding this bus. At least the AC worked ok.

Antenna Design New York (Masamichi Udagawa + Sigi Moeslinger) created "Bloemendaal" hanging metal sculptural piece with flower shapes that remind me of mod "Flower Power" designs that appeared everywhere in the '60s. 96th St. starts the section of the Upper West Side also called Bloomingdale, which extends to 110th Street. Before 1868, Broadway up here was called Bloomingdale Road, taken from the Dutch "Bloemendaal" District, where there were houses and farms running from what is now approximately 23rd St. up to 125th St. This is not to be confused with the department store Bloomingdale's, which was named after Benjamin Bloomingdale in 1861.

Along each platform, you'll notice black framed pieces, including the "Westside Views" as well as "Westside Poem" by Pedro Pietri, the poet/playwright who was one of the co-founders of the Nuyorican Movement. The local Community Board, seeking to use available funds for a youth project to benefit the community, enlisted Mexican-born Nuyorican artist Nitza Trufiño, who earlier founded El Museo de Barrio. Trufiño brought in 17 kids to collaborate, most part of a program at Grosvenor Neighborhood House. Pictures were taken, interviews made, then the images students drew were captured in these murals, installed in 1989. Take a look at each wonderful individual tile telling a story about this neighborhood and its people. It's worth a visit to this station in the Upper West Side. Was involved in an accident....several days later, I received a message from Nikki. She was…read morecontacted by my insurance company about a possible rental. Did I need one?...absolutely. Called back and spoke with Maria. Made reservations. The body shop I choose called this location, and was picked up by Lionel. Met Maria and she took care of me with the quickness, and I was on my way. I ended up changing my rental for another one. Maria and Dee took care of me...no questions asked. Once my vehicle was ready, I took the vehicle back and Nikki closed me out. I was driven back to the body shop to pick up my car by Jordan. Maria, Nikki, Dee, Jordan, Lionel, and the rest of the staff were very professional and courteous to my needs. If I EVER need a rental, I will certainly go back to this location! I have already recommended friends and co-workers to rent from this location. Thank you for your professionalism and kindness. P.S. nice selection of vehicles as well. I miss that BMW X7 and the Audi Q3 :)

The staff were very friendly and the other people staying there were nice too. Note I don't usually stay in hostels because I'm old and bougie, but my family was visiting from far away and they booked it - it worked perfectly because the private room sleeps 6 so we could all stay together with a double bed plus 2 bunks and a private bath. I'm only giving 4 stars because of a couple of things -#1 the double bed in the room was too soft and soooo squeaky, any movement was amplified 1000x. #2 The lightweight comforters on the beds are not washed. That really grossed me out when we gathered all our sheets at the end of our stay and were told to leave the blankets as they are not washed between guests. YUCK. If I had known in advance I would have gone out and bought a fresh blanket. Ugh the thought of it now still churns my stomach. Otherwise a great stay, very accomodating lovely place, and the price is right.

I will give one star because the driver was at the airport when we arrived, however, I made the…read morereservation because there was a set one-way fee from LGA to the hotel we were staying at for $84, once picked up, the driver "missed" the Lincoln Tunnel and drove us all over town, instead of a 30 minute ride, it took an hour plus. Once we arrived at the hotel the driver told me the price was $150, I told him I was quoted $84 and he said no way. For reference I also checked Uber & Lyft prices for the same day/time and they were right around the $80 mark, so figured I would give the business to a local company, definitely wrong choice.
