Replying to Dr. Haydon.. you knew the shape of my boobs before the surgery and you know you should have gone above the muscle. The outcome is absolutely atrocious! As a hairstylist.. if someone wanted a look that wasn't possible with their hair type... I'd never act like it was realistic and try anyway... knowing the outcome would be TRASH! I wouldn't be able to sleep at night until I fixed their hair and I surly wouldn't keep their money after ruining their hair. I spent 11k on this surgery and hate my life everyday because of this mess I'm stuck with. I can't afford another two weeks off of work, boarding my dog and the 5k for the hospital fees! I had been through an incredibly terrible murder at my place of employment. I gain several fybroids in my uterus and quickly gained almost 70 pounds in 2 months carrying the weight. When I was able to have surgery to have them removed, I was still left with a mass amount of weight that my body had built up to protect them. I saved all the money I could and decided that my 5 foot tall self deserved to be at my normal weight. I was in pain from carrying the weight. I went to several drs and after meeting Dr. Scott Haydon I went with his services for liposuction. I went in super nervous, but unlike at my consultation he just seemed to be so handsy. He touched me constantly which I can understand for some can be a way to build trust - but it was so often it was uncomfortable. I should have listened to my instincts and cancelled the procedure. I went home in a lot of pain and couldn't wait to finally see the results. So I waited and waited and waited. And months went by.... and nothing. I called the office (I assumed they would call me to schedule a follow-up but apparently once they get their money they are done). I told them that I thought something was wrong and they granted me a follow up appointment with Dr Haydon. I went in and again - his overly touchy self made me super uncomfortable. I told him that I hadn't lost any weight and had actually gained weight. He told me this was just swelling and it would go down. This was 3 months later. He told me that I would eventually see results in weight and in inches and actually recommended I get a breast reduction to match my soon to be back to normal small frame. Are you kidding me?!?!?!??!?!? Two years later and I lost no weight, no inches and nothing changed. I feel used and lied to. I got no response when I called and asked to address these issues. Here it is 5 years later...... and this mofo has decided to add me to his email list. NOW! After all this time. When I saw the email I knew immediately that unsubscribing was not the only solution. I needed to tell my story because crooks like this don't deserve people like me who already went thru so much in life to also be ripped off. If you are thinking about him doing ANY plastic surgery on you - I implore you..... please think again. I should have gone with another office but I chose him because he was a small amount of money and he seemed so positive that I would see excellent changes. Wrong! Dr Haydon is a great Dr. Not only is he great at his profession but has a great heart while performing amazing work on his patients. I had a tummy tuck and lipo done and after having a horrible experience with a previous Dr here in Austin Dr Haydon was there to rescue me and take on the procedures I long waited for after being canceled by the precious Dr. I'm currently recovering and Dr Haydon doesn't stop checking up on me to see if their is anything I need. The recovery has been very hard on me due to previous issues with my back therefore my healing is taking longer then others. I can't wait to share and see my results. If you need lipo please go to him because he obviously works with life and care and not tough like I've seen others do. The outcome and results where very easy for me for the lipo. I mean, I had little to no bruising!!!! Little to no pain on my lipo areas!!! Only numbing but that's better then anything. The swelling is almost nothing for the lipo. He is the lipo king!! My tummy tuck on another note was harder to deal with. And this is only due to the muscle repair. Getting out of bed would make me cry because of the burning pulling feeling when you make stretch. You definitely do not want to cough, laugh, or most of all sneeze!!!! You will feel like you are going to pull the stitches apart and the pain is by far the worst feeling I've experienced in my life. I'm going on week 3 and hope to recover and bounce back soon. Thank you Dr Haydon and Wanda and his staff for treating me like a VIP patient!! I truly do feel spoiled and blessed from day 1. Thank you for making my dream come true. I had to sacrifice so much for this to happen and at one point I thought my dreams where crushed but he was there to rescue me. My husband has been amazing and without him this all wouldn't be possible. Not only did he make my dream happen but he has been the best moral support for me. I can't think everyone enough! Happy mom of boys here who's confident is to the sky! Some days I still can't believe it happened. On March 2, 2016, my wife underwent a breast lift and augmentation procedure with Dr. Scott Haydon of Austin. Our initial experience with Dr. Haydon and his staff were very positive. The staff is friendly and Dr. Haydon acted in a professional manner. However, 3-4 months after the surgery, once the healing should have been progressing well, my wife noticed there was something very wrong with her right breast. Namely: a. It had a very different shape from that of her left breast (some differences are to be expected, but this is extreme and is clearly visible to the naked eye from multiple positions). Now, it looks a lot like it did pre-surgery and in addition, the bulge from the implant is clearly visible on the side b. She began to experience a persistent, daily pain in her right breast. This pain has only gotten worse over time. Now, 18 months later, this pain has not only distracted her from her daily life, but it has also limited her in terms of how my wife can move, whether she can go without a bra (I cannot), whether she can go jogging, etc. The list goes on. Since the surgery, my wife has had numerous appointments with Dr. Haydon. Some were part of our regularly-scheduled follow-up visits, while others were made upon my wife's request to discuss the ongoing serious issues with her right breast. Each time we met with him, my wife sense a general lack of sympathy for her situation from Dr. Haydon. Instead, he just continued to tell her that this is all normal and that she should not expect perfection. He told her the breasts were simply healing differently and didn't think any action was needed. To be completely fair, after the third follow-up visit, Dr. Haydon finally agreed to re-do the right breast, waiving his own fee. However, this option would have still required her to pay for the new implant, the surgery center fee, and the anesthesiologist fee (which, together, make up the bulk of the cost). Plus, it was obvious to her that re-doing just one breast would leave her with even more severely mismatched breasts. More recently, in August, 2017 my wife paid an independent diagnostics facility to carry out a mammogram on both of her breasts. The technician stopped mid-way through to show her how bad the right implant looked compared to the left. The right side had shifted outside of the pocket. Indeed, the bulge can be felt from the outside. The issue is readily apparent to the lay person and medical professional, alike. Upon contacting Dr. Haydon's office about these mammogram results, my wife never received a return call. The pattern of apparent relative indifference continued. My wife and I no longer felt comfortable having Dr. Haydon work on her breasts. We have since contracted with a new plastic surgeon to have both of her breasts completely redone. Her new doctor agrees that the only good option is to re-do both breasts so that they will match and so that the pain will go away. The cost of the new surgery with the new doctor is just over $13,000. This whole fiasco is costing my family more money to get fixed - essentially double the original investment. The whole situation doesn't feel right. I wanted to share her story so that others can draw their own conclusions about their own course of treatment. I have done my best to state only the facts about what happened, as well as our own perceptions about Dr. Haydon's attitude toward my wife. Her goal here is to help other women (and their significant others, who often help pay for the surgery) to make informed decisions and to cover their bases before making a final decision on their choice of surgeon. read more

I've heard nothing but great things about Dr. Haydon over the years and had no doubt he'd be my guy when I got breast implants redone and I'm so grateful for all of the recommendations to go to him. He, his staff, everyone and everything about this process was comfortable, seamless, refreshing...Everyone is friendly, warm, and helpful. I had breast augmentation March of 2020, 8 weeks after the surgery I broke out with a terrible rash due to an allergic reaction to the antibiotics and one of my implants became capsolated it was as hard as a rock. I decided to have them both taken out less than 3 months later. 3 days after surgery I broke out again with the same terrible itchy rash. As a professional Dr.Haydon should have changed all my medications knowing that I had an earlier reaction. As a result it cost me 12,000 dollars and I am no better off.Make sure you do your research. His office staff is nice but due to serious neglect I suffered with 2 terrible reactions. I hope you have better results. read more

Dr. Scott Hayden completed my breast reconstruction following a double mastectomy. I do not enjoy writing negative reviews, but feel it is important to share information that may have a serious impact on others. All concerned parties, including several other plastic surgeons, agree that his work was less than acceptable. I will be needing further reconstruction once I feel up to enduring even more surgery. What a nice office! They must have some extra $$$ to spend on the interior decorating because Austin Plastic Surgery Institute was a snazzy place. Because of the soft lighting, beige carpet, and classy furnishings, I felt like I was walking into a fancy store or salon, not a doctor's office. The exam/procedure rooms were also comfortable--clean and appealing without the cold sterility you usually have in an office. Austin PSI is sort of attached in a hospital, too, which is probably really convenient for more serious surgeries. I met with Dr. Haydon in March and found him friendly and approachable. He looked at my leg and was concerned that I needed to have it checked by a dermatologist before he did any surgery. Even though we weren't doing the procedure that day, he took the time to explain it very thoroughly; he even drew a little picture of what my scar would be like. Additionally, after looking at my medical history he had some other good insights--things my PCP had never told me were available. Dr. Haydon recommended a dermatologist on my insurance plan who could schedule me almost immediately. He and his staff made an excellent first impression. In April, I had my surgery. Dr. Haydon and his nurse communicated clearly the risks of the procedure and made sure I understood exactly what was going to be done. I only needed a local anesthetic, but it was a very thorough dose of lidocaine. I didn't feel any pain for over 12 hours. He also injected epinephrine as a vaso-constrictor, so I hardly bled at all. That made being awake for the surgery much more tolerable. I really don't like to see my own blood. The doctor used dissolvable stitches inside and regular stitches outside because apparently the dissolvable stitches can irritate the skin. I appreciate that he was considerate enough to want to avoid skin irritation and reduce scarring, even though it meant I had to go back to get the stitches removed. That, by the way, went smoothly, too. The nurse removed the stitches and applied some adhesive and steri-strips in under 10 minutes, so I was able to get back to work before my lunch hour was even over. Dr. Haydon also sold me Scar Guard for $49, which is $16 less than I could buy it online. What a deal! By the way, Dr. Haydon takes Blue Cross Blue Shield, but the other doctors at Austin PSI do not. read more

I can't express the frustration, depression, anxiety and disappointment I've felt since my surgery 1 year ago. After two kids and a drastic increase in breast size, I wanted to feel better about myself. After several "interviews" with surgeons I felt Dr. Haydon was the best fit, the technology even showed me how they would look once the procedure was complete! How could I go wrong?? Well, $8500 later and still the EXACT SAME BRA SIZE I am less than satisfied. I am an "average" size female with DDD/D breasts. Not only will I have to go back for a reduction at some point but it also makes me feel like my frame is much larger than it is. Found a surgeon to repair the botched neck lift Haydon gave me in 2014. The surgeon said the correct procedure had not been done to remove excess skin. This was the main reason I saw Haydon...to remove excess neck skin. After less than 5 years, with my neck looking horrible, I am now having another surgery that will cost me another $10k. read more

Dr. Haydon and his colleagues have done a phenomenal job with the APSI Skin Care Clinic. I could not be happier with the services I have had and continue to receive. APSI Skin Care Clinic is everything you want and expect when it comes to your health and skincare. Currently, I have two different procedures/treatments at APSI and have been exceptionally satisfied with the results. Facilities: Clean, contemporary, and not overly "clinical" Staff: Everyone from the front desk staff to the providers are so very kind, professional, and knowledgeable. Barbara is a nurse who does my injections and what I appreciate is that she takes her time and explains everything she is doing and the expected outcome. For me, the latter is of utmost importance because I am someone who sets expectations and need to have all of the information available to ensure those expectations are met. One of the fears I had was overdoing the treatment. Barbara helped eased those fears and concerns by ensuring that we started slow not over-injecting so that, as treatments progressed, we could tailor them to my preferences. For my laser treatments, I started seeing one aesthetician who left the practice. For my second and most recent treatment I saw the new addition to the team, Helen. I cannot tell you how different and, more importantly, improved this experience was from the first. Helen did a fantastic job of talking with me to understand my concerns about the areas needing to be treated. Then following that discussion she explained how she would use the laser to treat the area. This was similar to the first treatment; however, it was much more thorough and, in my opinion, personalized. What was the most shocking (in a good way) was that she treated the area with a mild numbing cream, letting it set for a few minutes to activate before she began the treatment. I could not believe how much of difference this made. The treatment itself is not overly painful - but it is a laser so it does heat up a bit and, more than anything, it is startling. The cream made ALL the difference. In fact, during my first treatment the aesthetician told me she doesn't use the cream on patients because it doesn't do anything. I can say without a doubt it absolutely does. I would recommend both of these professionals & APSI to anyone and everyone. I'm a young mother, and my husband and I decided we were finished having babies. SO, next plan was to get a mommy makeover--YES!! I visited with Dr. Haydon, and he recommended liposuction for body contouring- I did not have enough muscle protrusion to need a tummy tuck. Discussing breast surgery, he recommended a breast augmentation with a lift. I was kind of on the border with needing a lift, but he showed me my possible results on the 3D Vectra, and I was able to see the difference. It also helped me decide what size of implant I was comfortable with- I wasn't interested in being too large, just wanted to restore fullness and position after nursing a baby. The surgery was so simple-not at all what I expected, I was up and around in 2 days. I am about 6 months out, and super happy with everything. My breasts are back to perky, and fuller than before. I'm a two time breast cancer patient with chemo and radiation some 6 and 7 years prior to my double mastectomy. Had I known he would no longer be able to "fix" me after my surgery and complete reconstruction, I would've never gone to him. I feel I was mislead. I feel he was just all about the money. Knowing my medical history, he should've told me ahead of time so I could search exactly what I needed in a surgeon. He didn't. He told me "I'm sorry, there's nothing more I can do for you. You've had radiation, I just can't fix the damage in your skin" that's haunted me for a long time. I went a whole year feeling sad and frustrated., that is until I found my heaven sent Dr Troy Thompson in Round Rock has truly been a blessing for me. He has turned my life around and been the best thing that has ever happened to me. With 15 surgeries and counting trying to fix the damage that scar tissue has been done, Dr Thompson is truly the best. He doesn't advertise, only word of mouth, but has a friend for life. I saved for a very, very long time to have a breast lift augmentation. My first impression and visit experience was positive and I scheduled the procedure. I called before my first post-op appointment to notify the office that I had pain in my right breast and an area that absolutely did not feel right-I was told it was normal. I continued to have a quarter- half-dollar sized area in the right breast that was very, very painful and felt different to the touch. I work in the medical field and had several nurses in the office look at the area. They said the area was indeed "puffy" and noted a suture protruding as well as the texture of that area feeling wrong.It was extremely painful to the touch. I called and the office did work me in-the suture was trimmed down but again I was told there was nothing else wrong. I felt like they were blowing me off-Dr Haydon basically said he noted the area I was talking about and then said he didn't really see what I was talking about. I made several appointments to be told the same thing. My breast began feeling hard and overall more painful. I now had a breast contracture. I feel sure this started right after surgery and after research [on my own] believe I had a hematoma that was never addressed.When I called again and went in for another appointment Dr Haydon confirmed I did indeed have a breast contracture and that would require removal and replacement of the implant..but NOT to worry as Blue Cross Blue Shield was very good about covering this surgery and I would önly have to pay for the replacement implant [about 900 to 1,000 dollars I believe]. The office submitted the info to BCBS and I recieved a letter stating they would not authorize the procedure but the doctor [and I] could ask for an appeal. Back to the office-this time Dr Haydon said "Blue Cross is not one of the insurance companies that is very good at paying for this procedure."I was dumbfounded. He said he would write the letter for the appeal. I called the office to ask if the appeal letter had been written and was chastized by his nurse who stated he had "written a very strong letter" to the insurance company. I then requested my records and no such letter had been written-in fact there was only the initial letter in the records. I practically had to beg the nurse to look back at the letter and look at the date-she finally realized no 2nd letter had ever been written. An aquaintance of mine had gone to another MD in the same practice and said she had similiar symptoms and her doctor immediately prescribed her singulair and a breast band [that her MD had overnighted to her home] and her symptoms resolved almost right away. I was never offered those tools but read in my "chart"' that Dr Haydon DOCUMENTED he had given me a prescription for singulair. I called his nurse who told me "well, we don't know if that would have even helped"'. I understand this was not a medically necessary surgical procedure. I could maybe even understand had the treatment been prudent and time sensitive-my records clearly show there was an area of concern [ Dr Haydon even made a hand-drawn notation of the area]. I understand medicine is not an exact science and I am not one to even file a complaint about a doctor-I feel so silly for doing something for myself and spending the money on myself. I don't have thousands and thousands of dollars for the 2nd surgery and will have to start saving again. I called another plastic surgeon [not in the same practice] and was told he would not do the second surgery as he and Dr Haydon both do surgeries at the same hospital but I could make an appointment with him and for a fee he would give me a second opinion.I am not sure where to turn to at this point. I cannot sleep or wear any clothing that does not cause pain-I look disformed and I am in pain 24/7. I sincerely hope I am an exception to the rule - my experience was simply aweful. read more
