This hotel is located in the hipster neighborhood of Södermalm, which is very safe and boasts many cool shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes. It is easy to get to all of the main attractions and other neighborhoods in Stockholm from here as well. Fun fact: this hotel is owned by the famous Swedish music group, ABBA. The rooms are nice and very big for Scandinavia, with huge windows, which is a big plus. Some of the appliances in the rooms are a little dated, but other than that, no complaints. The staff at the hotel is extremely hospitable - they were happy to help us plan a day to the Archipelago, and when we had an issue with our sink, they fixed it immediately and also comped us a bottle of wine, handling it perfectly. Overall, I would definitely recommend it. If you do stay here, I would recommend Dryck Winebar for wine and small bites, as well as Hagabakeri for coffee and pastries. The neighborhood is quiet, but with plenty within walking distance. There was a great bar/restaurant on the same street and we even walked into the old city from here. I would recommend it for sure and would certainly stay there again.

The entry way to the hotel is stunning with a sweeping circular staircase, which is dramatic, but perhaps a bit scary for some people. large windows and a modern appearance made for an inviting welcome. I loved the wood design (see photos) and the overall appearance of the room looked very Scandinavian. As noted by other reviewers, there is a hidden closet near the bathroom (which is also a bit hidden). The door swings out to reveal a hanging closet and a couple of storage drawers). The location of the hotel is perfect because it's very near the waterfront and very close to the old city. The access to restaurants and shops is close enough that you can walk anywhere. It is however located close to the commuter train station Alvsjo. It is around 10 minutes by train from the central station but it is worth noting that the commuter trains do not run all night (the subway does) and in winter time the commuter trains are notorious for being late. Still the location is OK. If you are going to the fair it is located in connection to that so then it is an excellent location. The hotel itself is fairly new and it has a Scandinavian feel to it with light colors. The hotel staff were all very helpful and very polite. Check-in was very efficient and they made sure to ask if I wanted the Internet password. The room was also fairly nice and had the same type of design as could be seen in the lobby. Decent size as well which is nice for those who stay longer periods. Most things are fairly standard in the room; wireless Internet, TV, desk, a few chairs, 'minibar' (or at least some snacks, drinks etc - do note that there is no fridge so the drinks are not cold), water kettle, iron (very difficult to find) etc. The bathroom was also nice, no bath tub but I only stayed for one night so no problem. The only thing that annoyed me and I am actually not sure what they were thinking was the fact that they provide soap, shower gel and conditioner but no shampoo. For me it would make sense if they did not provide conditioner but still just a minor issue. The breakfast was great. Large selection of both hot and cold food. Numerous different types of bread (and even some sweets and pastries if that is your thing). The best part was without a doubt the juice/smoothie bar where they made fresh juice and smoothies. There was also an excellent selection of different newspapers. If I would have known that the breakfast was this good I would have made sure to have some more time to spend there. To summarize the hotel is a great choice for anyone who do not mind being based a little bit outside the city. The rates are rather low when there is not a fair going on so it is possible to stay at this hotel for a fairly good price.

Although the Victory is in the heart of Gamla Stan it is relatively quiet in the area late at night and early mornings....good sleep was in the cards for us. I read somewhere that there is a private tunnel that takes you all the way to the hotel, but you do have to exit the building and walk across the street in case that confuses anyone. I had a great stay for 2 nights while I was exploring Stockholm on my own. It was pretty close to everything I wanted to see and the farthest walk was 20 minutes away which really didnt feel like 20 minutes because everything was so scenic. The hotel is clean, the rooms are comfortable, and the breakfast spread is pretty amazing. Huge shout out to Gigi for being absolutely incredible - she was super friendly and warm as soon as she greeted me to check me in. She also helped me figure out the early morning transportation because I wasn't sure if I could make my 6am flight if I left the hotel on the 4:20 Arlanda Express (spoiler: yes I did make my flight) haha and she was like a home away from home with her kindness and patience. We walked from the hotel to the Vasa Museum which was awesome. The hotel was great. We had a suite with a huge bathtub and shower. Who really has time to soak in a bath? Well since we had it available and it was cold out, we took baths. They were great and relaxing. The hotel also had a great restaurant and bar downstairs which was great since we didn't want to have to bundle up to leave the hotel. We had burgers two days in a row for lunch, they were really good. The place itself is beautiful and service was great. We went down two nights for appetizers and drinks at the bar which was great as well. No complaints for the Radisson Blue from us.

She also was pleasant and spoke great English because I don't speak a lick of Swedish. The room is nice. WiFi is strong. Shower amenities free. Just be careful of the big step from the shower/tub to the floor, it's a high one. Heated bathroom floors. I did have a small issue with the running water noise from the other rooms, the water could be heard when someone else flushed every so often. Loved their morning breakfast buffet even though it never changed. It was a full breakfast though. Nice restaurants in house, always busy and packed for lunch and dinner. And now they are claiming that I have to pay for a stay that was canceled after I travel practically a whole day and arrived in another country with two suitcases and in the cold. They never called me or sent me a message, they said I should have contacted them and it was canceled as no show (but they received the money for my whole stay and rented my room to another person) they never entered in contact with Booking.com to cancel my reservation because is still is showing in the app as confirmed! Like I'm there! I had to leave the Clarion Hotel with my suitcases and look for another hotel that would have a room for me! Thank gagos I found it. I got a Uber and went to the other hotel. But they acted like they didn't care if I had a place to stay. I'm extremely disappointed and said that this hotel does things like this to people coming from other parts of the world and had planned the whole trip to at the end stay in the street, in the cold, looking for a place to stay! They'll also happily refer you to nearby sights to see, places to eat, and just general things to do in the area. Rooms, common areas, and bathrooms were super clean. I stayed here in November, in the off-season for tourists, but there were still a good amount of travelers staying at the hostel which made it easy to make friends. Lodging was very reasonable for the area, at around $90 for three nights - I spoke with a couple other visitors who paid over $100 for the same time and uncomfortably cramped accomodations in the neighborhood, so highly recommend staying here to any travelers in Stockholm. There's a kitchen downstairs with free pasta (no free sauce), and the front desk sells sandwiches and pastries for pretty cheap prices (the Swedish cinammon buns are my favorite). There's also a small restaurant connected to the courtyard (Nomad) that serves decent beer (note: you'll be hard-pressed to find anything above 4% alcohol content in Stockholm). The hostel occasionally hosts events for groups from CouchSurfing (while I was there, there was a group pancake night in a tent in the courtyard), and if you check the bulletin boards you can find opportunities to tour the area, take cooking classes, etc. Five stars!

The lobby area was cute, with a nice area to sit and chill by the window. However, the room (I chose the 4 female only option) was kind of bare bones with 2 bunk beds, small 1 seater couch seat, lockers (need to bring your own lock) and a large window. Also, during check in, I had to pay 35 SEK for sheets (one time fee, but still). On top of that, towels were 30 SEK and I couldn't even get 1 the first night because I returned after hours, which was quite early at 8PM. I was pretty upset about that. I've stayed in hostels all throughout Europe and NEVER had to pay for sheets and / or towel, but I later learned this is common in Scandinavia. Location is very central and in the city center. It is walking distance from the train station, shops, bakeries for Fika, restaurants, the park near Royal Palace, Gamla Stan (old town), along with T-Central (and others) metro station. The hostel uses a code system for access to the courtyard to get to the rooms (which changes each day), the room itself, as well as for night entrance. All the codes are listed on a small piece of paper, and is attached to a map of the space. Before entering the main area where all the rooms were, there was a place to put shoes, which I didn't mind doing. One morning I put my boots down for a few seconds and when I got back, they were not in the same spot I left them. The staff was great about this though, as they checked the cameras and located my boots. After that I didn't trust leaving them there and carried them to the room. There was a downstairs common area, which includes a kitchen with free pasta (have to bring your own sauce though), cozy hang out area, and showers. I went down here with one of my roommates and quickly made friends. I ended up chilling here after exploring the city for 2 nights in a row, just chatting with fellow travelers. Definitely a great place to socialize! After around 11PM, we were asked in a very gentle way to keep the noise level to a minimum, which I thought was a considerate gesture for other guests. The place offers a breakfast, which costs 95 SEK. This consists of a berry smoothie (or orange juice) and ham with cheese panini (or mozzarella with tomato), which was pretty tasty. I think it should have also came with coffee. The folks working here were nice and friendly. They even have a way to chat with them after hours on WhatsApp, even though they couldn't help me with the towel situation since I hadn't paid for one. Overall, these were decent accommodations, at an awesome price point, but some improvements can definitely be made.
