It's…read morea pretty mall with fountains outside and architecture that makes you ooh and ahh inside your head. It gets crowded due to being one of the nicer, fancier malls. Like amusement park crowded. Grab a buddy and you'll be fine. They seem to have everything here too. Even a chapel that has masses. No joke. I was walking through the mall when I saw crowds of people standing. For mass. The masses get so much traffic that people have to stand outside the chapel. People don't stare at you here like at most other public places. I would think it's because most of the people here are middle and upper middle classes and a lot of tourists probably come here so it's nothing new to them. I liked this mall.

I don't get it... I also don't understand why they don't open all mall entrances from parking on the weekdays... I get it's not as busy... but it's really inconvenient when we park in the higher levels... If I didn't need to get a certain grocery item here - I'd avoid this mall all together - but it's the only place that sells grass fed bones and grocery shopping here on the weekends is horrible....... it's best to go when the store opens early in the morning on weekends... and sometimes weekdays too... but if you come at lunch time... good luck finding parking.

In QC, Centris Walk to me is the place that gives the closest experience of Greenbelt (with its…read morepark and restaurants), and some of BGC, like Burgos Circle and Bonifacio High Street, because Centris has patches of green amid the many restaurants and establishments. Plus, it has these really nice-looking towering white structures that stretch up to the sky and spread out like umbrellas. I guess these structures are also for shade, but I heard from a guard there that these also function as solar panels. Perhaps they are, as I saw a similar, though smaller, structure meant for solar energy at BGC. But I haven't really verified this, though I read later that in general Centris is solar-powered, which is a nice bit of information especially if you're concerned about the environment. There are quite a number of restaurants to choose from - Filipino, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, and more. There are also places nice for dessert and coffee. When my college friends and I were here, we had dinner, dessert, then went outdoors and just chilled out on the grass. Events like concerts and other performances are also held here at Centris Walk, particularly in the area of the umbrella-like structures. A friend who lives in QC also said that they have a weekend market here which he goes to occasionally for vegetables and other healthy food items.

I had the opportunity to visit this mall recently as my cousin took me here to get my hair done at her hair and makeup studio, Introspect which is located on one of the upper levels near the Fisher Department Store. I came here on a Thursday around lunch time and the mall wasn't as crowded as it was on the weekend, specifically on a Sunday. There are so many eateries here to choose from which also includes my cousin's restaurant, Hen Lin. I learned this mall went through a lot of reconstruction in order to have major food tenants occupy the area in addition to an updated galley food court. A mini park was also built beside the mall on Quezon Avenue, known as Fisher Parkway, which houses one of my favorite stores, Uniqlo. Fisher Mall has 5 floors + 3 levels for basement parking. We usually avoided parking in the basement and would park on the street, as this was the most convenient for us. This mall has a fresh seafood market in addition to tons of stores and venue stalls to shop from. Your options are endless here when it comes to food, shopping, activities and entertainment. They've got live entertainment, a cinema that offers online reservations and comfortable seating and even a place to gather and play Bingo! Their mall is also pet friendly with an elevator that actually says "Pet Friendly Elevator", lol. Overall, Fisher Mall is fairly clean with many affordable options to please your family's cravings and personal needs.

S&R is probably my favourite place for grocery shopping. They offer only the best products from…read moreimported goods, fresh fruits, quality meat, bulk chocolates, yummy pastries and huge household products. Membership Shopping usually means buying in bulk, so if you're not careful, you'd find yourself spending way more than usual. While my family usually spends triple our usual shopping budget, we still find ourselves back nearly every month. The place is just addictive like that. But aside from grocery shopping, their food selection is just as good! There was really never a time when I left an S&R branch and did not get a slice of pizza, a piece of chicken or even a scoop of ice cream for myself. My favourites would have to be their New York Style Pizza, Roasted Chicken, Clam Chowder and Blue Bunny Ice Cream. Although pricey, paying the Annual Membership fee is worth it, not only for the savings in bulk but also for the varied imported items you can only get at S&R. Shopping and eating at S&R go hand in hand so make sure to stop by for these mentioned goodies.

For some reason, whenever I enter one of their branches, even if I tell myself that I only need one thing and will buy nothing else, I come out with a bunch of other stuff and with way less money than planned. I once walked in because I needed a soup ladle. I came out with several large boxes of chocolate cookies, a wok, a shower curtain, and a bike lock. I forgot the soup ladle. The best part is, most of their products are capped at Php88. My wallet hates me now.

You mean that cheap looking store that sells just about anything? Yep. Japan Home Center. Trust me, I had that same outlook towards the store until my family had our home renovated and I needed to buy storage items for my room. I went to Japan Home Center with my older sister, and I wanted to buy so many things! I love how the items don't have unnecessary decorations and accessories in an attempt to make them more attractive to a buyer. You just know the store markets its items purely for functionality, not aesthetic. You can find almost anything here! Cookware, shoe racks, lamps, office supplies, containers, hardware... anything! The best part is the prices are amazingly low, but the trouble with that is you're tempted to spend a lot of cash on so many different items. You should probably get a valid excuse ready when you go home with nearly empty pockets and plastics full of random things.

But, hey, as hellish as they might be, there are some welcome gems that we can look forward to while stuck in one of these tin cans. One of them is the Eton Centris station in Quezon Avenue. Perhaps one of the best looking stations in the metro rail, next to Trinoma of course, this small complex filled with scrumptious culinary selections will give all that you need to cheer you up after a hellish train ride. Home to good eats like Uncle Cheffy and Tong Yang, well perhaps getting sardined in an MRT isn't so bad if that's what's waiting for you.
