I really like Dr. Bohan, but the East Valley Clinic is a disaster…read more At my 2nd appointment (10:30 AM), I waited more than 2 hours and was told I'd be "the next patient after lunch". I LEFT. Currently I've been trying for nearly a week to reschedule an appointment. I've never reached a real person and have left 4 messages. No one has returned any of my calls.

I am submitting this complaint regarding Dr. Arturo Castro Jr. at East Valley Center for Pulmonary…read more& Sleep Disorder due to unprofessional conduct, dissemination of false information, and what I believe to be retaliatory patient abandonment. My wife has stage four lung cancer. Over the past three months, she has been repeatedly hospitalized at Banner Hospital and Mercy Gilbert Hospital due to tumor progression in her lungs and recurrent pneumonia. During these hospitalizations, Dr. Castro was one of the physicians who evaluated her. One day prior to my wife's discharge from the hospital, I spoke directly with Dr. Castro and requested that oxygen be arranged for her transportation home and continued home use. Dr. Castro stated that he would not order oxygen unless my wife came to his office for a follow-up appointment first, after which he would submit an order to Preferred Home Care. I explained that during prior hospitalizations, oxygen was arranged directly by the hospital before discharge. Dr. Castro responded that this "is not how it works" and that my wife "would not be approved" unless she first saw him in his office. This information was false. Hospitals are fully able to arrange discharge oxygen when medically necessary, which was later confirmed by hospital staff and another pulmonologist. The interaction left me with the strong impression that Dr. Castro was intentionally creating barriers in order to force an office visit before providing medically necessary equipment. Because my wife was extremely weak, we planned to follow up with pulmonology once she stabilized. After discharge, we contacted the same office to schedule an appointment with a different pulmonologist. At that time, we were told by office staff that my wife's name had been marked in the system as "Do Not Accept Patient" under Dr. Castro's instructions. I was shocked. My wife has done nothing wrong. She is a critically ill cancer patient who requires medical care. Blocking her from accessing any physician in that practice appears retaliatory and punitive simply because I questioned inaccurate information provided by Dr. Castro. This behavior raises serious concerns: * Retaliation against a patient * Interference with access to care * Dissemination of false medical and administrative information * Possible patient abandonment Physicians take an oath to place patient welfare first. Denying or obstructing care to a terminally ill patient because a family member questioned incorrect information is unacceptable. My wife is fighting for her life. She should never be used as leverage in a personal or financial dispute. I am requesting that this matter be formally reviewed and documented. I also strongly advise patients to be cautious when seeking care from this provider.

If you are Awake then avoid this place!…read more I took my mother here in hopes of getting approval for an oxygen machine thru Medicare, due to the partial lung removal she had a decade ago. She is short of breath regularly, so I thought oxygen machine would be a good fix for this problem. The place must be very busy because the first available appointment was 5+ weeks out. Usually in a busy office they are many other people getting treatment when you show up, but in this case the office was empty of any other patients. They weren't busy at all. Upon arrival they collected all of the forms we had filled out and got us back into an exam room right away. The med tech came in to do some basic testing and breathing evaluations. I explained the purpose for our visit right away, and he seemed to change his attitude after this. He was also concerned that they didn't have any of the records from her history. He was very polite during his exam, but I had to laugh at the fact that he was wearing a cloth mask. A pulmonary office should be aware of the negative effects caused by wearing a mask all day, but since the office staff didn't have masks on I knew that it was a choice thing for him. Next the doctor showed up wearing a mask, and I almost got up and walked out at that point. After talking with him, and explaining the reason for our visit he said he couldn't help us because the EtcO2 readings she had were over 88. He then tried to argue for an inhaler treatment, which I refused. They didn't bother doing any of the exercises testing, which would have shown her need for the oxygen. If you want to see a doctor that doesn't even know that mask wearing is detrimental to your health, then this is your place. If you are still wear a mask yourself then this is your place, but if you have a brain then you'll avoid this place. This group should be avoided at all costs. You can't fix EVIL or STUPID, and I believe that these people are both! What happened to "Do know harm?"

After her visit today she is finally making the decision to leave and go somewhere else. This doctor has absolutely NO bedside manners. She is rude, talks over the patient, and acts as if she is simple angry to be there. Instead of listening to the patient and hearing about their issues they would like help with, she disregards and downplays everything. She only reads patients charts when she steps into the room (something she should do before hand). I cannot believe the stories my mom has come home with, telling us how poorly she was treated by her during her visit. Not to mention during this pandemic, the staff handled things horrible. They did not make the patients wait in their cars until the time of their appointment. They had people sitting in the waiting room and one of the workers even had her mask pulled down exposing her nose. So unprofessional! I would not recommended her to anybody.

Really? Now you tell me and I just wasted a co pay on this visit and an hour and half of my time and now I need to go get another one and subject my lungs to more radiation? Would of been nice if someone called to say the scan was no good. Sounds fishy...How could the scan be no good...Dr Kadikar made me PROMISE to come back after my next CT scan to go over the results.....So then I go get another CT scan and here I am waiting and Dr Kadikar is not even in the building! No respect for my time. So disrespectful of her to not care about her patients time. She doesn't even review any notes or look at your chart until she is in the room with you. It's the first time she bothered to look over my results is when she finally made her way into the room. After another full hour! Ridiculous! And guess what all was good nothing on the scan. A simple phone call would of worked...but then you wouldn't of gotten paid $300 for 3 min of your time with me. Respect your patients time. If it wasn't for us you wouldn't have this practice.
