Dr. Castro and her staff are the best! They are all super kind and courteous. A lot of people would be surprised by how using the words, "please," and "thank you," make such a big difference in how pleasant dental care can be when staff are asking you to open wider, turn your head, etc. I love how they explain everything they are going to do so you are aware of their movements in your mouth and have no surprises which makes a generally uncomfortable experience immensely agreeable. Dr. Castro is conservative in her recommendations and has no interest in trying to make money off of you by suggesting unnecessary procedures. I am so happy to have been referred to her several years ago by my orthodontist! read more

After moving to the area and not wanting to make the long trek back to my old dentist, I was in search of a new Dentist. I found one in Cypress (off Walker and Ball Rd) and on the first visit, was advised I would need several crowns and started talking what my cost after insurance would be. This left me feeling like a $ sign more than a patient and my search for a Dentist continued. Fortunately my neighbor recommended Charlene Castro. What a night and day difference from my visit in Cypress. Starting from the Xray's - the dental hygienist explained in detail why each one was needed. When Dr Castro entered the room, she introduced herself, shook my hand and gave me a brief introduction. There was a monitor in from of me as I sat in the chair and she thoroughly went over my X-rays of each tooth. She then proceeded with a tiny camera in my mouth and showed me on the screen what each tooth looked like, pointing out areas of wear, old fillings and a chipped tooth. She also mentioned that she likes to take an conservative approach and would use dental bond on one tooth and leave the other since there is no decay. These were the 2 teeth the other Dentist wanted to Crown. After going over the planned future work, she cleaned and polished my teeth, used the camera again to show me the difference and explained to me that my gums need a few weeks for the swelling to stop before started any work. The appointment took 1 hour and when I looked at my watch, I apologized for taking up so much time and to my surprise, Dr Castro said "I allow about 1 hour for new patients" Dentists I have had before have had me in and out as soon as they could. Dr Castro is truly one of a kind and I feel very fortunate I found her. read more

Receptionist: Hi, how may we help you? Me: Hi, I would like to book an appointment as a first time patient . Receptionist: WHO can we thank for the referral? Me: *Gives name* Receptionist: Can you spell that please? Me:*Spells name out* Receptionist: Ummmm, what's the first name? We don't have that person in our system . Ummm no, We do not know that person- they have never been here. Anyways, we are booked six months out and we are not accepting any new clients. Thank you. Click. So apparently who referred you has to be a patient there and determines whether you get an appointment?? This receptionist is ridiculous. read more

My family has been coming here for years but lately the service has not been up to par. I had a procedure done and they did not disclose the cost prior to the procedure. A couple months after they billed me $800. I've never recalled them disclosing the cost like other professional dentistry office so the bill was a huge surprise! read more

Dr. Castro is by far the best dentist I have ever been to. She is so professional and caring and explains everything that is being done during my cleaning or procedure. She is always making sure that you are comfortable and not in pain. I came to her when is was 18 years old and I had 8 cavities. I'm now 35 and the work from 18 years ago are still in place and intact. Her staff is always very accommodating and polite! I recently had a a tooth that had a a crack in it and I called the same day and they were able schedule me same day and fix my tooth. Not all dentist offices are able to be so accommodating. I would highly recommend her. Her dental office is by far the best! read more

Dr. Castro is the best dentist in the area and the best I've ever had. It is always comfortable and painless. She takes her time with each patient and is very detail oriented. For the first time in my life I don't dread going to the dentist. And also she is an artist when it comes to teeth. Thank you Dr. Castro! read more

Excellent dentist and staff; highly recommend. For 30+ years, I had an amazing dentist (Dr. Blackwelder), in Rowland Heights, but the drive from Cerritos became inconvenient. I tried to find a local dentist, but had one bad experience after another. Ultimately, I found Dr. Castro and she is wonderful. My wife, kids and I have been seeing her for about 5 years; her and her staff have been consistently kind, talented, and demonstrate a genuine caring for others. Again, highly recommend. read more

I have been through plenty of Dentists.....most people wouldn't go through the work of filling out all of that paperwork, only to go to a new dentist 6 months later, but I do. I am extremely picky, which makes it tough because I will take my family of four 'round the world like a ban of gypsies to find the right dentist for all of us. Cue Dr. Castro. My family has been with her and her team for a record 24 months. Yeah, it's pretty amazing (no one office has lasted more than a year). We have been to 4 cleanings and even a couple fillings and all of us are happy. Dr. Castro gives tough love to the kids which is great because they totally respond to her. read more

She saw my daughter right away for a baby root canal when I called her in desperation at 5pm on a Saturday! She was gentle and kid friendly. We called her off a recommendation from a doctor and this was our first visit! On top of that her cash prices (no insurance) are very good. She won the business of our whole family, and we haven't been dissappointed! read more

Love her. She is so thorough and explains EVERYTHING she does. Dr Castro and her staff are very friendly and welcoming. I know it's a dentist but I love going. read more

I might be biased because she's my cousin, but I've referred friends to her and they've given nothing but spectacular reviews. My friend is so terrified of the dentist she hadn't been in eight years, but I finally convinced her to go to Dr. Castro. She said she wasn't scared at all and felt so at ease that she had all her cavities (go to the dentist twice a year like they recommend!) filled. I know I sound like a 1-800-DENTIST commercial, but this really is a quality dentistry. They let you pick a movie to watch while they're working on your teeth and if it's your first time, she'll show you all your teeth/problem areas on a little tooth cam. Neat. Oh, and she's open on Saturdays for all us working folks. read more

I went and saw Dr. Castro yesterday after having lots of fun (insert sarcasm) with my other dentist and a bunch of filling problems. She took those digital pictures everyone has noted and showed me how my brand new fillings were broken. She also explained how my teeth were in good shape and how to tweak some of my home oral care to help with the work that was going to need to be done to fix my ever so painful mouth. She was very calm and put me at ease as I was understandably anxious after the last two experiences at the other dental office The staff was very friendly and understanding of my situation and Amy got me in as a new patient in under a week. (I had to wait two months at the other dentist). So needless to say, I will be switching to Dr Castro and her office. I look forward to having my mouth fixed and being able to eat without pain. read more

After reading all the reviews I thought this has to be the perfect dentist to see. I'm giving 1 star because I was never able to schedule an appointment. The phones are not answered by a live person. All calls go to voice mail and it takes on average 6 hours to have a call returned. I wasn't home to receive the call from the office and was instructed by the voice mail to call the office to schedule an appointment. Over a 3 day period, I've called the office phone number 20 times (not kidding) and have always gone to voice mail. I'll try another dental office that has staff to answer calls and assist potential patients. Either the staff is too busy to take calls, interact and assist patients, or Dr Castro has more than enough patients. read more

Bad experience with the receptionist to start and then wasn't able to get a dental appointment for a month even with a dental emergency. My whole family recommended this dentist and I don't understand why. I would try another local dentist if you are looking to find a new dentist. read more

This was my best dental experience ever in my 28 years of living! Like for most people, going to the dentist is a mandatory thing, not something that's pleasant in any way (except for maybe the outcome of having super clean teeth, etc). But my first visit to this office really took me by surprise. Dr. Castro, Paul (the hygienist) and Beth (receptionist) were all so welcoming and friendly. The place looks brand new (although they've been at that location for 5 years now) with all high tech equipment and a flat screen that u can see your teeth super zoomed in with the tooth cam and movies. They give you a movie menu for you to pick from also, so you're not stuck watching some self promoting ads. Dr. Castro was so thorough in her explanations so I was always in the know of what was gonna happen next. She and Paul were extremely attentive to my needs by asking if everything was okay periodically and they even put vaseline on your lips so they don't get all dry! In addition to the cleaning and xrays, she also checks your jaw and neck muscles, checks for oral cancer, and the space between all your teeth to see where flossing can be done better/more often. It was the most thorough examination and cleaning I've had. And to top it all off, they even give you a warm toilette to clean your face and hands at the end. I cannot rave about the service anymore! I highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed! read more

Dr Castro is wonderful with kids and adults. She has a warm comforting bedside manner and sound medical judgement too. We are so thankful for her expertise and caring heart. My daughter actually looks forward to going to the dentist!!! read more

Absolutely the best in the business. Period. Super professional, they have an amazing facility, cameras that allow you to see inside your mouth as you sit in their chair too! Dr Castro is such a pleasure to be around as her energy is magnetic. The receptionist is wonderful and very friendly, our family HIGHLY recommends Dr Castro and her elite staff. If they can help, they will. Can't wait to go back for our families next cleanings! read more

Dr Castro is very nice and caring, I have had plenty of other dentist but she is very calm and attentive and very gentle with her patients. I sent 4 others to her and they all loved her, she just happen to move away from our area and I am sad that I no longer get to have her as my dentist. I was looking up to see where she is gone and found her here and had to write a review. Thanks Dr. Castro read more

Dr. Castro is amazing. Her practice focuses on patient care, she is informative, kind, and passionate when it comes to taking care of your dental health. Her front office staff and assistants all follow the model Dr. Castro exemplifies in her work, they are always welcoming and helpful when you come in. It was here where I did not experience severe discomfort when taking X-Rays for my teeth, and I have been to a lot of different dentists since I was a kid. I'm so happy to have finally found a great dentist for my family! read more

The only dentist I can't wait to see for my next check up! Staff is welcoming and friendly. Dr Casto is thorough and caring.

Let me first start by saying I have a phobia of going to the dentist. Dr. Castro & her team are knowledgeable, friendly & the experience was painless. I chipped a big portion of my front tooth & she was able to fix it and it looks brand new. I just wanted to take the time & say thank you. Appointment wise she was able to take me the next morning and I called at 430pm the day before. Thank you! read more

Shes a great dentist. Shes good at what she does. She cleaned my teeth thoroughly and my teeth almost white as snow. lol. The only thing that I don't like is making an appointment with her. She's never really available. It's either she is high on demand or doesn't like working. Anyway, you would need to book about 6 months ahead or so just to make an appointment with Dr. Castro. read more

The best dentist ever...great with kids (my kids ESP love being able to watch tv while getting a cleaning) very caring and honest person. The staff is very friendly and the facility is very clean.. We highly recommend her!!! This is by far the best dental experience :) read more

Dr. Castro already gets 5 stars for being a UCLA Bruin. I would give her another 5 stars for her dentistry skills but I already maxed out.

Dr. Castro is amazing! I just got home from my teeth cleaning and let me say I was amazed by her work. Yes a simple tooth cleaning but it was unlike any other cleaning I've had in the past. She made me realize that my prior dentists were crap! She is professional, personable and her office was a breath of fresh air. Pleasant staff and very clean office. She has also worked on my 5 year old sons teeth and after going to see Dr.Castro he loves the dentist. I love recommending her to my family and friends she is great! read more

Dr. Castro and her staff are pretty much great!! She treats you like family and also educates you on everything she is doing and what your teeth are doing as well. Let's just say Dr. Castro has become a close member of my family. It's unfortunate I only see her every 6 months.

I can definitely recommend Dr. Castro's dental office to anyone. I just went there a week ago and had a great experience. She is gentle and explains everything. There are no pressure tactics here in any area. Love that she's open Saturdays. You feel like a movie star...she puts vaseline on your lips, puts goggles on you and gives you the choice of watching a movie while she's cleaning your teeth. At the end, you get a wet towel to clean your face if needed. Thank you Dr. Castro for being one of the best and honest dentist in our area. read more

Dr. Castro is a kind, gentle dentist. She explains everything to you so you don't feel like a probed lab rat. Great dentist my 5yr old likes it here...my only complaint is the front desk, it is a mission to call for an appointment or to speak with someone live and not a voicemail read more

Dr Castro is a good dentist. Beware of the reciptionist. She is rude! If she does not like you be prepared to pay through the nose and scheduling appointments, she will play games. Good friendly professional people are hard to find, tell Dr. Castro if you have the same experience. read more

This is the absolute best Dentist ever!!!!! I have never written a review but had to because of the absolute best service. I have been with the same Dentist for the past 20 years, but could no longer do the commute and wanted more flexible hours. Dr. Castro and her team are the best. Their office is state of the art, clean, and homey. I was a bit uneasy (because I don't like Dentist), but immediately felt at ease. They have the absolute best bedside manner. She explained every step of the way, which really put me at ease. I have found a new Dentist for life. read more
