I reached out to Laser Innovations via Yelp Projects for a custom fabrication job. I just needed…read morethree L-shaped steel brackets, powder coated black, for a DIY walk-in closet build. I don't have CAD skills myself, so it was important to find someone who could help draft the design and stay within a budget. I sent them my dimensions and a mock-up drawing, and Kevin responded quickly with a quote and instructions to follow up via email. From there, Larry took over and let me know that their minimum charge is $100, and the job would take about 7 days to complete -- including cutting, bending, and powder coating. They do outsource powder coating, so there was a short wait while they batched orders together, which I expected. Once the brackets were ready, I stopped by in person for pickup. There was a small mix-up when we arrived, since they're used to working with POs for business orders, but even though mine was a personal project, the staff quickly sorted it out and got me taken care of. The final total came out to $100, and to my surprise, I received four brackets instead of three. The quality was excellent, everything matched my specs exactly, and I was finally able to complete my closet setup. The whole process was smooth, the team was professional, and the turnaround time was reasonable. Would definitely recommend them for custom metal work (even small orders!). Very happy with the final result.

Miracle Fix: Jose and Lorenzo Saved My Miata. Answer to my…read moreprayers. Expert welders and fabricators. My Mazda developed a loud rattling and knocking noise underneath and no one could figure out why. I went to eight different shops. Each one gave me a different guess: heat shields, engine mounts, catalytic converter, "play in the differential," you name it. Nothing made sense, and the noise was so annoying at red lights and/or with foot on the brake . Finally, one honest shop (Thanh Auto in Garden Grove) spotted the real culprit: a big clean crack in the aluminum mounting bracket attached to the differential housing. Every mechanic I spoke with afterward told me the same thing: "Only solution is to drop the entire differential and replace it." Translation: very expensive. Thanh's expert ( Keith) suggested welding the crack, but every welding shop I contacted said the same thing -- "No space. We'd have to remove the differential before welding. Almost as costly as replacing the whole diff." Then I found Jose at OC Fabrication on Yelp. Within minutes of sending him a photo, he replied ...fast, professional, and confident. He said it might be doable without removing the diff, but he needed to inspect in person. He even gave me two honest estimates: a higher price if the diff needed to come out, and a much lower one if he could reach it in place. He squeezed me in after hours the very next day. He and his welder Lorenzo crawled under the car, inspected the crack, and confirmed they could do it without removing anything. They carefully jacked the differential to realign the broken ear, cleaned the aluminum, welded it beautifully, and then reinforced it with additional metal. All in under 90 minutes. When we test drove the car afterward -- night and day. Smooth. Quiet. Solid. The rattling and knocking that haunted me for a weeek? Gone. Jose told me straight: most shops wouldn't even attempt this kind of repair. But he and Lorenzo took it on with skill, confidence, pride in their craft, and real customer care. They solved a problem that eight other shops shrugged at. I can't recommend these guys enough. Professional, talented, honest, and genuinely passionate about their work. Bravo, Jose and Lorenzo. Many thanks. Bonus: Their shop is amazing -- full of unique custom fabrication projects, metalwork, and creative builds. Kudos for their skill and craftsmanship and care.

In early December 2024, my wife and I began to work with this company. Hours were spent by us…read moresending them photos and discussing the job we wanted (basically, steel wrapping cabinets adjacent to the cooktop). They sent us a preliminary estimate; which we accepted. Then, even more hours were spent meeting with them at our home actually making a very detailed design plan. They told us that the job might not start until just after January 1, 2025, because of the holidays. They also said that the cost for the job would be larger than the preliminary estimate. We said we understood, and that we were fine with all that. Then, in late December 2024, they emailed to say it would take a bit longer because some of their staff were out on vacation, and that if we could not wait we might want to consider a different company. We said that we were fine with this delay, and that we did not want to consider a different company. On January 21, 2025, I called them and spoke with "Andrea." I very politely expressed to her that we were perplexed why we had heard nothing from them. I even expressed to her that we had an impression that maybe they did not want the work because it was not a small job, and it was rather complex. I suggested that, if that were the case, maybe we could just do the much less complex parts of the job; which would satisfy our needs and for which all the necessary design work had already been done. Andrea said to me that "due to the fires in LA" they had become very backlogged. I expressed to her that, surely, the fires cannot have impacted our job because the fires happened only 10 days prior to my call. Essentially, Andrea told me flat-out that our job had been kicked to the curb because they got (apparently) a flood of new, bigger jobs. I told Andrea that this is a lousy, very unfair and greedy way to treat customers. Do not work with this company! They will kick you to the curb as they did us the moment something better (in their eyes) comes along!
