One of the most incompetent escrow experiences I have seen in years. Mission Escrow managed to derail a fully approved closing by mishandling loan documents and creating delays that lasted the entire day, ultimately pushing closing to the following day.
The fallout from this level of negligence is substantial: sellers unable to vacate on schedule, movers delayed, painters rescheduled, contractual timelines disrupted, and unnecessary costs imposed on multiple parties. These are not minor inconveniences -- they are real financial consequences caused by escrow failing to perform at a professional level.
Even more concerning was the refusal to take accountability. Rather than acknowledging the errors and resolving them professionally, Astrid (escrow assistant) repeatedly attempted to shift blame onto United Wholesale Mortgage (UWM). Anyone experienced in this industry knows UWM operates with some of the best technology, communication systems, and turnaround times in wholesale lending. The lender was not the issue here. Escrow execution was.
Escrow is supposed to be the neutral party responsible for accuracy, coordination, and timely execution. Instead, this transaction was handled with disorganization, poor communication, and a complete lack of urgency despite the significant impact on everyone involved.
Transactions worth hundreds of thousands -- sometimes millions -- of dollars require competence, precision, and accountability. Unfortunately, none of those qualities were demonstrated here. I would not trust this escrow company with another closing. read more
