Baked chucked steak of beef with roasted aubergine, fried shallot and pommes duchesse in red wine jus.

Finally the red meat trend has caught up with the small town of Lund in shape of a modern steakhouse called, rightfully and deservedly I might add, M.E.A.T. This is the place for the carnivore in you! M.E.A.T at lunch is a favorite of mine even though the lunch offers are somewhat pricier than the average. However the atmosphere, the staff, and the kitchen justify the prices. A pleasant, modernly decorated and relaxed place that brings you generous portions of well-made, exciting and tasty dishes. Almost everything we tried at M.E.A.T is good but some of the less considered important sides are crazy good! Take the aioli for instance; it is to die for even though the purist would argue jalapeño does not belong in it. THEY WRONG! It packs another level of heat to the sauce making it, in opposite to regular aioli, memorable! The charcoal grilled rib-eye at M.E.A.T is a star but it gets there with the kim chee béarnaise sauce. The sandwiches are M.E.A.T's way of serving somewhat lighter lunch and usually they are good, but in my opinion some are not as good compared to the rest of the menu and even less when considering the price. I am not a big Ruben fan but having had some overseas I think the ratio between the sauerkraut and meat should be the opposite. This is the only time I felt M.E.A.T was less generous than they should be; too light on the meat and too heavy on the veggies! I also think the M.E.A.T burger v.2 however delish does not offer the taste one might expect by its asking price. It cost almost the same as the Rib-eye steak and without the kim chee béarnaise! Regardless of the minor objections, call it differences in opinion, the carnivore in me has always been satisfied at M.E.A.T.

Outstanding lunch and cozy interior at meat grill.

Stressed staff and atmosphere with food that doesn't really live up to the prices. Overall a disappointment every time.

Let me start this review with acknowledging one fact right from the start:…read more I love fishing but I DO NOT like fishing for cuts of meat in a meat fondue bowl! So If you a lover of meat fondue or as I call it "fishing with stick in a hot bowl" then by all means visit Restaurang Stäket as it is a meat fondue institution. To be honest Stäket is not only a meat fondue institution, it is a city institution being one of the most classical, oldest, highly reviewed and regarded restaurants in the small town of Lund. However in my opinion we are now beyond the point of classic. Everything, not only the building and the décor but even the menu and the visitors, are retro. In fact it is so much so that if this place was in the states it would without a doubt be a mid-evil theme restaurant. Also as the rumor has it changes are few and far between, during the last 20 years. Being an institution is truly a double-edged sword, it can be assuring but it also can result in an Era of Stagnation. The Kitchen turnouts are the living proof of this stagnation. The biggest problem is the fact that Stäket relies so heavily on the costumers being in love with the old classics such as meat fondue and Plank steak (beef on a oak plank with duchesse potato). So much so that the rest of the menu gets as much or as I see it as little attention as the classic dishes mentioned above. Let's face it a plank made in the oven or a meat fondue, with mainly cold sauces doesn't really make or break or test a kitchen and its chef. In conclusion what this kitchen puts out, is somewhat sloppy, uneven and uninspiring and I am refraining from the usage of the word Retro. In fact the generous cuts of meat or fish, more in term of quantity and not quality, are often bland and given life by the side orders. For instance the garlic & thyme baked lamb gets its taste from the rosemary sauce and YES you are right not from garlic nor thyme. The Chocolate cake is really a volcanic lava-like texture brownie relying heavily on the sour cream served on the side to balance its overwhelming sweetness. it is not gooey it is more dry and lumpy. I also suspect that the duchesse potatoes are sometimes made out of a box as in "Instant Mashed Potato Powder" as the texture varies from dense, heavy and thick to fluffy and light. And If not made out of a box, it only goes to show how uneven this kitchen has become.

Restaurant was full, but service was still efficient and pleasant. The interior is quite cosy, rustic even. I agree with another reviewer - if this place were in the States, it would DEFINITELY be a medieval themed restaurant ;) To be honest, I was pleased with my meal. I had deer fillet and I remember it being very tasty and enjoyable :) I would definitely go every once in a while if I still lived in Lund!

We started with an Eriksberg and the salad bar. Salad is included with the entree. A good variety of items from greens to cheese (Feta, Mozzarella), seasoned mushrooms, corn & peppers. A great way to start the meal. The garlic bread was excellent! For main, I ordered the No Bone T-Bone. A Filet/Tenderloin and Sirloin cut grilled separately. I asked for medium rare. The Tenderloin was amazing! On the other hand, the Sirloin was ok & came out closer to medium. Would order just the Tenderloin in the future. The Carnivore Classic (Burger) was also ordered and it was very good. The fries come with the entrees and we ordered the potatisgratang as an extra and the creamy potatoes were very good and definitely worth the 20 KR. Also got the Pepper (good) & Bearnaise (better) side sauces. They also have chicken and Salmon entrees but the feeling is that it is all about the steaks here. Service was ok and could have been more attentive. Overall, a solid choice for steak.

Excellent, kind, and efficient service that made me feel quite at home, but the food was alright but great for the cheap price compared to a CPH steakhouse. Food: 4/5. I had the recommended classic, plankstek. The seasoning wasn't anything special, but the chefs do know how to cook their meat. I had medium well, and it was cooked perfectly. Usually I run the risk of it being too dry, but Mando's got the perfect touch! Service: 5/5. I came by on a Wednesday around 4pm, and the place was already quite busy, so I can't imagine what it's like during rush hour. Since it was an off-hour, I was promptly seated wherever I wanted. The blonde waitress was sweet and even bent down to speak to me at eye-level to ensure friendly comfort. Price: 4/5. Coming from CPH, I expected crazy prices at a steakhouse, but for 130g of the plankstek--that also comes with a mixed salad, fries, and 1 onion ring--it only cost about $25 USD. I half expected to order another side in case I wasn't full, but no worries there.
