Thank you Miguel so much for coming same day to fix my faucet! Literally in under an hour of texting he was at my house. Having the repair done same day so quickly is priceless however I'll say you do charge a fair price for your time. I appreciate that you kept me updated when I needed a part and the cost would be a little more. Thank you for the quick replies and easy text communication since I was at work and couldn't call you. I absolutely recommend Miguel he was quick and easy to work with. Just sent his 411 to my neighbors. read more

I live in California and my daughter lives in Fort Lauderdale and needed to get some work done on her condo. We called both Home Depot and Lowe's to attempt to use their contractor service as my daughter lives alone and I didn't want just anyone showing up plus I wanted to ensure the work was done properly. Well after about 4 months of trying I finally gave up and was on my way to Florida to visit and decided to use Yelp which has always been positive. I searched for a Handy Man (Handy Person if you're offended ‍) and looked at the reviews. Reached out to a few people and Miguel from M&P Maintenance responded. We communicated via text, I honestly can't recall if we actually spoke but I told Miguel that the front door wasn't closing properly and we wanted to replace the door and the locks and get some painting and other touch up work done. I sent Miguel a photo of the door, both sides and the frame and door jamb. Miguel responded 'Hey, I don't think that door needs to be replaced'. I was like naw it doesn't close properly and I'd like it replaced. He insisted that it probably just needed to be looked at but he would let me know. I can honestly say I that just hearing someone say I don't have to replace something put me in a good place. I had to go back to California but made an appointment for Miguel to see the unit when my daughter was home. Miguel showed up when he said he would. He immediately sent me a text saying that the door was in great shape but apparently over the years the prior owners had continually put weather stripping that caused the door to not close properly. He took apart all the old stripping, cleaned up the door, all the whole texting and sending me photos while doing this work. My daughter said Miguel was extremely pleasant and respectful and showed her everything he was doing prior to taking it apart. Miguel fixed the door, went out and replaced the locks on the doors, cleaned up and left. My daughter had a list of other things she wanted done and Miguel made an appointment to come back to paint the entire place in few weeks. Miguel didn't even ask about payment. It wasn't until I asked him what I owed him did he say how much it was which was beyond reasonable. Miguel is a gem, and I am extremely happy with the work but also how he made my daughter feel safe and didn't speak down to her and showed her how and why he was doing what he was doing. Miguel is Aces! Very happy to have met him and will definitely be using him in the future. read more

Miguel is just the person that I have been looking trying to find for 35 years! He may call himself a handyman but he can do anything! He has done theee very different projects for me and each one has been done professionally, for a very fair price! He always leaves the job site near and makes sure you are satisfied with his work! I told him I have good and bad news for him.... He asked what that was, I told him " The good news is that my checks will always clear, the bad news is that he is now my dirat call for any issue that I may encounter in my house from now on!" I highly recommend Miguel of M& P Maintenance for all of your home projects! read more

We would highly recommend Miguel. We reached out via Yelp and received a timely response and quote via text. I originally hired Miguel 4 years ago to redo one of my bedrooms. I called him again recently for a smaller job. Miguel is still awesome. He gets pictures of the requested projects to not only give you an estimate, but to also think of ways to make your vision better. Every time he does a project for me, he thinks of ways to enhance it because of his expertise in his field. He did the same thing with this smaller project and I am so happy with the results. I will be hiring Miguel again in a few months to redo my bedroom. I have ideas of how I would like it to look, but I look forward to his suggestions. He's a great guy, who does great work for a reasonable price. Hands down: Highly recommended!! read more

We needed someone to repair a large pothole (really more like an underground cave) that happened in our driveway. Negative zero stars!! Had same bad experience as Steffi (see review below) so I am shocked by the good reviews he has on Yelp. The tasks I needed help with were very simple: install a ceiling fan, 3 bifold closet doors, 2 sliding closet doors & replace baseboards in a room. I only contacted him to get an estimate on his fees. Would only contact me via text & his questions sounded like he was very confused about these tasks. I texted him request to either speak on the phone or meet in person but he ignored it. The last text I received from him was that I should hire a professional door company to install my closet doors. This was hands down one of the strangest dealings I have ever had with a service provider. Since he replied to my review & lied about saying I asked him to install 10 doors, I thank God I never hired him. read more

Miguel is a gem. He's friendly, punctual and his work is top-notch. He came to my house to do a few repairs ... fixing some water damage on the ceiling, caulking a bathtub and other miscellaneous tasks. He did a fantastic job. But what really impressed me was how he went out of his way to check other things while he was here. For example, after he fixed the bathtub, he checked the sink. It was loose and he tightened it. He heard a toilet running in my son's room and asked if he could check to see if it was leaking. (It was.) He was nice enough to go out and purchase the parts he needed to do the repairs himself. He didn't send me out to look for parts I don't know anything about. And he was super friendly to my dogs. Which I always appreciate. :) And did I mention his rates are super reasonable? Seriously! I almost didn't want to do this review because I don't want him to get so busy he can't return next time. A++++++ Totally impressed. read more

Miguel responded to my inquiry very quickly and had the scope of our job settled in just a few minutes - fix a couple of doors, fix some rot on a door frame, repair a light socket. First of all: Miguel came to the appointment. This is not the case for all the people. Second: he came on time. Very clear communication. And third: he's a warm and friendly person. Most important, while several contractors saw my ceiling/roofing problem (including licensed roofers), Miguel is the only one who pointed out something that nobody thought about... that will eventually save me thousands of dollars. He spent some time thinking about the issue I had from an overall point of view, and found out another way to fix it for an affordable price. Highly recommended. read more

We needed our French doors fixed as they were not closing properly and we couldn't lock out back doors. Since it was a security issue, Miguel prioritized us.
