On day two we were told he would be there early in the morning except he never showed up only his workers did.Everything was rushed and At one point when it was taking longer than expected a third person was brought in who randomly showed up at my house in a broken down Blazer with his wife who stayed in the front yard smoking cigarettes the entire time. The work was very sloppily completed and when he came to collect the money that was owed as final payment we pointed out all of the things that were still wrong he assured us he would come back and fix them. After a couple days they came back and fixed the issues that we pointed out except fixing the fire pit that was built. Some of the pavers had been cracked during him rebuilding it and structurally it did not have a good appearance. Now a year later more of the pavers from the fire pit are cracking and are on glued. Some of the Polymeric sand is coming up. And all the new pavers on the patio up here almost faded some with a white tinge to them and you can very obviously tell where the original patio ends and the new patio that was added begins. When he had assured us everything would match. It almost has an appearance like they forgot to seal them properly When my wife reached out to him last year with questions he blocked her phone number and blocked her from Facebook. I have now reached out to him this year three times and I've gotten no responses.

With that said, the rest of this review will be largely negative for a variety of reasons that I will describe below. Let's get the positives out of the way. The person who took the initial measurements of the property was personable and professional. In addition, as mentioned above, the actual outcome (a walkway) ended up being pretty nice. Now for the negatives, which make up the majority of my experience with this company. 1) scheduling: when I made the decision to go with them, I asked them when the work would be started. Their response - call us back in 3 weeks or so and we'll see if you're on the calendar yet... What good looks like to me is that they tell me a target, and then get in touch with me regularly as we get closer to the date. In addition, even though they eventually told me the date, they showed up unannounced two weeks early (no joke - they just showed up, assuming it was ok to get started...). To add to that, they didn't finish the first day, and said they'd be back the next day. Well, they didn't show up, so I had to call the office...again... They ended up coming the following day. 2) the job site: there are too many problems to list here, but I'll do my best. First, they dug up a bunch of dirt for the walkway, and they just threw it on the grass surrounding the area. So much that I had to replant grass seed in the area. Second, for a company with "garden" in their name, they sure do seem clueless in terms of how to work a garden. Specifically, they dug up parts of our garden, and, instead of putting it back, they just placed the dug-up plants on top of the dirt (vs. replanting them). In addition, they tossed a bunch of dirt on top of the newly mulched garden area... Third, when digging, they cut an exposed root to a tree in the yard. I guess we'll see in about 7-9 months if the tree survived... Finally, they went in my fenced-in back yard for some reason. Well, instead of closing the gate when they left, they left it wide open, which would be fine if I didn't have kids and several animals who roam the backyard... 3) communication: last but not least, their communication was quite subpar. Aside from the scheduling mishaps, they were unresponsive to email, and messed up my final invoice (added a line item for a $750 project they didn't do...). Overall, this was a poor experience. I would strongly recommend against anyone doing business with this company. Keep looking - you can thank me later.

I didn't do a moisture test yet, but knocking many pieces together it seemed like most pieces sounded dry. As far as volume, you definitely get a full cord and then some. I stacked the wood and definitely got my 128 cubic feet worth. I did ask how they seasoned the wood, and like just about everyone else they pile it up for about a year or so. Any accomplished wood burner can tell you that is no way to properly season wood, so in actuality the wood I paid for is probably only 1/2 way seasoned. My recommendation for buying wood from anyone in Connecticut is to buy "seasoned" wood in the Spring, store it exposed to sun/wind all summer and then it will be good to go by winter. 4 stars. 3 stars for excellent service, delivering the wood within 24 hours of my call, and 1 extra star for selling the seasoned wood at a reasonable price. They don't get a final star because the seasoning is a little suspect.

After the fact, they told us verbally that they would replace the shrub. After 9 months and many, many attempts to follow up with them, they have not replaced the shrub.

From the moment they arrived, they were friendly, professional, courteous, and extremely careful--especially around my septic fields, which was very important to me. I watched them from my window, and I couldn't get over how hard they worked--and yet they made it look almost effortless. They worked as a team, knew exactly what they were doing, and took great care with my property. When they were finished, everything was cleaned up beautifully. My only advice to anyone considering Witkowski & Sons is this: If you have to wait for them, they are absolutely worth the wait. I will definitely be calling them again in the future. He communicated with me throughout the process, as some parts of our property may not be able to be mowed due to recent rain (our acreage was soaked).
