The store carries paint, light fixtures and everything you can possibly need for a build or for renovations to your home. I was helped as soon as I walked into the store by friendly and super knowledgeable staff. I got some obscure light fixtures that I couldn't find at any major popular store here for £2 a pop. I really appreciated my shopping experience at this place and would come back to buy a hammer anytime.

It doesn't matter what sort of DIY your trying to do there is always someone there who has the necessary knowledge to help you. It's only a small store but they make the most of the space and it's packed full of stuff, which although not as cheap as the superstores is worth it for the back up you get. The most handy thing they have is off to the side of the store. If you want wood cut to size they have a wall mounted cutter and will happily cut boards and planks to your exact requirements. I've not been here in some time but they certainly know their stuff and it's worth using them over anyone else in the area.

Friendly and helpful bunch of guys that happily put up with my naive questions. Has a small shop selling paint, fixings etc etc always busy with tradesmen so presume it is competitive on price. Part of the Wickes group this is clearly aimed at tradesman (but you don't have to be) whereas Wickes targets the DIY market. They have a hire shop next door. Very useful

The shop is nothing to look at and parking can be a nightmare. It's the kind of store where you don't browse, you either know what you want or you ask. If you ask and don't know you'll be offered excellent advice and often your problem is solved with a cheap part or widget. The staff will give you fitting advice and won't try to sell you more than you need. If the parts are not in stock then Burns will source them for you. They'll phone you with a price and then call again when the item come in. Their communication is really good. So, if you have a plumbing issue that's not an emergency, pay this shop a visit. It'll be cheaper than the call out charge for a plumber! Note: As this is a trade shop it's open early, closes early and closes at lunchtime on a Saturday!
