I ordered the sausage plate/combo which cane with various sausages and a giant pile of sauerkraut. This didn't do it for me at all. Portion was huge and the flavors were just not meshing together. I was staying in a hotel near by and the service was horrible. I walked up to the guest services and they recommend this restaurant. It was walking distance and very safe. I walked in and I was seated promptly. The waiter was very friendly and I asked him for something very traditional and he suggested the veal schnitzel but I wanted chicken. I also asked for a traditional salad and a beer. Needless to say, it dis mot disappoint! If you are ever in the area and do not know where to eat. Stopped in here for a quick early dinner when in Munich a few weeks ago. Not in the best part of town, but near the central train station, which I needed, since I was traveling. Got the roast duck, and a dark beer. Duck was flavorful and had nice crisp skin, but the meat was a bit. The potatos and house sauerkraut that came with it emerge also good. Opening day of Oktoberfest. We have not tried any other tents or festival houses. We managed to get two tickets from a group that had extra seats. The ticket cost is simply a voucher towards your bill at the end of your reservation times. Ours was lunchtime 9/21 11-4pm or something like that. It was a fantastic time. We'd definitely do it again. The food was amazing. The service was as good as it gets for a super packed house. They split the bill for us, being that we were three separate checks. I am always a bit skeptical about a stubn so close to the main train station. I was pleasantly surprised. The menu was quite diverse with traditional German food and pizza. They had a good selection of beers on tap and prices were reasonable. The establishment is relatively new (ca. 2 years old in 2023) so it has both a clean and rustic feeling ... if that makes any sense. I would call this Tourist German food. We stopped by here on the recommendation of our hotel and because we got in late to our hotel. The food was mediocre and the service was rude. I got the pork knuckle, which is suppose to have a great crunchy outside and a tender inside. The inside was so tough I couldn't eat it. Only complaint I would have is the tomatoes on my pizza were just way to big and made it hard to eat but otherwise it was great. There is tons of seating. If you are a small group and seating is limited at the time they may put you at a long bench table with others like they do in the beer halls. Definitely a great option in this area of town. This is our second trip to Munich and this by far has been the absolute best dining experience ever. The food is delicious and the presentation is beautiful. The service was exceptional and the ambiance is delightful. It is so clean and decorated very nicely. We ate every single bite of our meals. We will definitely be back. We tried the Schnitzel Brewmaster Style which was AMAZING, a beautiful tasty salad bowl and for dessert KAISERSHMARRN which I only discovered today is the best dessert of all time.
