Went here on a whim in October 2013 and had a really unpleasant experience. The owner is not honest in my opinion. I walked in and he offered to do my highlights and a cut for 150 CHF, which I found a bit expensive as I have short and very thin hair. He called this a "special" price. (It was special because he was a rip-off).
I assumed he would do my hair as he is the one who created my appt and discussed at length what I wanted, all in French, (I am bi-lingual fluent). Suddenly I was to be done by the new young coiffeuse. I asked if she had experience working with thin hair and if she was the apprentice, as 150 CHF seemed a lot for that level of expertise.
She told me she had worked at another salon in Lausanne for several years. Ok, I thought, I will try her out, she was sweet. Well everything took a lot longer than normal because she consulted on every little detail with the owner, who micromanaged the highlights and cut like she was an apprentice. At the end I had spots of blond on the back of my head like little dots near the neckline and the whole thing was simply mediocre. Even I know that you can't just add tiny highlights at the neckline because then end up looking like dots of color, and this is not my metier.
I then found out they only took cash, had to walk to a machine and come back. Suddenly when I was paying the owner announced the price was going to be 175 CHF because I asked for two different colors of highlights!!!! While on the chair this was not explained. I felt that 150 was already really high. I just stated that I did not believe he could change the price after the fact and just stood there, he started to make a million excuses for what he was doing. I just stared at him calmly, but inside I was just shocked. He knew very well what he was doing was illegal, we had an agreed upon price, I had been totally lied to about the expertise level of the girl, and he folded.
I paid the 150 CHF plus 10 to the girl and walked out.
A week later I had to go and get my hair recut, and another week later redo my color to get rid of the spots at another salon.
Cheesh Nyon ! Not all Americans are rich, not all of us need to taken advantage of.
I would not recommend this salon, it was sleazy. I am convinced I was pawned off onto a new apprentice or employee who did not know what she was doing at all. I felt really insulted and really taken advantage of. read more
