Ly's is a wonderful place. Very friendly neighborhood liquor store. They are very knowledgeable about different brands and types. She put together a case for me of 12 different wines, 6 white and 6 reds that ranged from dry to sweet for an event. And helped me carry the cases to my car and load them. Glad Yelp put this independent liquor store on my radar because I was met with great service from the owner Thuy, and I found exactly what I needed without having to venture over to Midtown or The Heights. This place is awesome! I stopped in for rum... and they did not disappoint! The selection is insane. I was able to get a few expensive selections like a Hampden Estate Great House 2023 and a Plantation rum. I also refilled my supply of hamilton rums. They have an extensive selection of the hamilton rums including a lot of the harder to find hamiltons like Jamaican pot still black, Jamaican pot still black, West Indies 1670, New york blend.... and just so much more. Ok so I stay in the area and wanted to support a local business. So being new to the area I wasn't entirely sure where to park so I parked my car cata-cornered behind the car in front of me. I took a couple of minutes to prepare myself and figure out what I wanted before I walk in because I'm m an impulsive buyer. I walk in and immediately as I walk in the lady behind the counter proceeds to ask me what's wrong with my car. Me being confused asked what does she mean. She tells me that I'm blocking the parking for her customers and they have been complaining. I, still being confused because I have blocked not 1 customer from accessing her business, proceeds to explain what was going on but then I realized that I'm a paying customer to her establishment. I shouldn't have to explain anything. I got my purchase and politely left. I'll end my review by saying that if you're in the neighborhood and don't want to travel far I guess it's acceptable. The prices are more higher than other establishments like Specs or Total Wine. If you go for service be prepared to be let down horribly. The rating would've been 4 stars but because of her attitude and sense of entitlement had to lower it to 3 stars. Even if I'm in need of a drink, I'll drive to Total Wine for far better service and free samples. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I believe this place is family owned business. Which why it hurts me to give this review because I work for a family buisness myself but I walked in at 8:31pm exactly, looking for my wife favorite drink while on the phone with her with my airpods in my ear. The owner heard me speaking and thought and I was asking a question. I informed her I was on the phone but with airpods, which I understand mistakes like that happen all the time. Directly after I let her know that sorry I have airpods in, she yelled at me "Hurry up and choose something" I've only just walked in the store. I was so shocked and disappointed. I never been treated like that before, let alone a place of business. I grabbed a random item just so I could leave. I told my wife I couldn't find her drink. I'm guessing the owners daughter who is behind the counter hearing my conversation, began to defend how I was treated by telling me "we where just about too leave and you came in late" It was 8:33 pm. And at that moment I refused to give a absolutely rude place like that my business and left. I wasn't inside the store no longer then 2 minutes. And the place closes at 9:00 pm. Surprisingly great selection of liquors and beers. Looking for Japanese whisky and you're in the neighbourhood, stop here before driving West. Want locally brewed beers? Contrary to an earlier review, they have loads, and if they don't have they can get it. My only gripe is the lack of ciders. Who want Angry Orchard? It's the fireball of whiskies; too sweet and with nothing much more to offer than alcohol content. I wish they had Austin Eastcider or Bishops, but I'm not sure the demand is there yet. Next time I'm in I'll ask. (The wine selection is also lacking, but it's a liquor store so I wouldn't expect great things there. Go to Phoenicia for wine if you don't want to go too far.) read more
