I personally call Jim my Hero and this last job Savior. First, my home was built in 1940, so old wood frame ranch. A couple years back he had to replace our demolished side entry door which had its own challenges as todays doors don't quite match those sizes from 1940. In one day, old out; reframed entry and installed the new door and no one would be the wiser of all the work it entailed. But it's solid and finished.
Last week we hired out to Lyons Den Entryways to replace our leaky double hung wood frame windows in the Den with new energy efficient Fiberglass windows. Well South side of den install went in without a hitch. Then came the west wall and there it was discovered a hidden problem. The whole interior wall as well as the subfloor had to be rebuilt as the structure had been seriously compromised by water damage and black ants. Years of deterioration not visible to the eye.
Now some contractors may have walked away and said out of their territory but not Jim. He tore down inside as much as possible and gave us the skinny on materials and extended timing and cost to complete the job. We gave the go ahead. Now watching him in action is like a programmed machine. He is meticulous even through the added hinderance of last weeks inclement weather to make matters more challenging: cold, rain and winds.
That week was so enterprising for us all. That room will never fall down. The windows are in and sealed, insulated, don't leak and are all trimmed out. I'm so excited to finish this with the proper flooring and stain and paint.
My husband and I recommend this company with the highest of marks. Jim is a professional and honest and has integrity. He repairs your home as if it's his own. Wish all companies had this work ethic.
I hope he posts some of the before and after. (that's another thing he takes pictures of whole process) read more
