Krystal curled my hair so I can just run my fingers through right before the wedding (and holy cow my hair looked amazing). She always does a phenomenal job even if I just need a simple cut and wash. Today was my first time at this salon…read more The salon is very easy to get to because it's right across the street from the parking garage on Fleet St. and also around the block from the smaller lot by Hanover St. I saw Lauren for my single process color and haircut. We talked about my color and cut and Lauren was right on par with exactly what I wanted. She was very nice, welcoming and open to what I wanted. I started with unevenly colored hair, long root growth and old faded dye on the other bottom half. I was looking to be rid of the faded reddish color and start going lighter so that eventually I can have a much lighter brown. The color came out nice! It's a nice lighter brown and looks a lot more even. The haircut was just what I wanted, shorter and a little layering with texture. She gave me options of styling it and parting it differently. Very happy that I found this salon and a stylist I am happy with in Portsmouth! My fiancé will be going for his haircut there next week!

She got my cut just right, but what really stood out was the color. It's the first time I've felt like someone truly understood what I was going for. Nice and bright with lots of windows. Great vibe. I definitely recommend!

Not sure why I stayed at this salon for so long. You won't find experienced, seasoned stylists here. What you will get is a basic cloned cut and look like everyone else walking out of this salon. I've had a couple of corrections done here & my experience was that some can't even do a basic cut. With the lack of imagination some staff might benefit by engaging in ongoing education to expand their repertoire beyond basic cuts and colors. Otherwise you're not worth what you charge. Please stop the embarrassing trick you do to clients by announcing out loud (so everyone can hear) whether the client wants to include a tip instead of having the client privately enter the amount into the card reader. It's tacky and shameful.

I cannot recommend Liz enough. I came in with about 7 different colors in my hair, from blonde, to…read moregreen, to brown, to pink. All of it. I told Liz I wanted lavender hair. She spent 8 hours working on my hair, taking amazing care of both me and my hair! She was so kind and funny to talk to, and listens to everything you ask and say! I left after those 8 hours with the most BEAUTIFUL purple hair, more than I could even imagine. She worked with my (extremely stubborn) hair and made it a work of art. She told me that because of my hair color and condition, true lavender all over wouldn't be possible, so she adapted and added a darker purple in places where lavender wouldn't cover, to make sure I was all purple and it turned out SO cool. I won't be going anywhere else for color (especially not box dye...)!! THANK YOU LIZ!!

Liz was great; as I am in my 20s I always want a stylist who can give a modern cut and a colour that looks luxe and expensive. Liz more than delivers on both accounts and when she told me the price at the end, it was so much lower than expected that I thought she had missed a decimal place...cut and colour for under $100! Worth mentioning that the products she used for highlighting my hair got it to the light blonde I wanted, but left it feeling healthy and happy..something anyone who has had highlights knows is nothing short of a miracle. Fantastic service for any price - but for the level of expertise of both the cut and colour (plus excellent conversation and a relaxing experience) Liz is by far the best stylist I've ever had! The salon was very clean and trendy, with fresh baking and coffee a nice addition. For anyone looking for a new hair stylist in the area, you cannot go wrong with Liz. Highly highly recommend.

I have extremely curly hair that has been my nemesis for the past forty years. I've pretty much…read morefigured it out, but as I keep it long I find myself putting it into a ponytail most every day that ends in Y, and I just don't think it looks professional. Plus, there is a balance between having really long hair to weigh down/control the curl...and not having a shape, just having a big mop of long hair that hangs there and doesn't look intentional let alone professional. I searched a bit on Yelp for hair cuts and salons for curly hair and learned about the Deva Cut. I figured I'd try this salon and was so pleased that I did! The Deva Cut is a dry cut with natural care and styling products and specific techniques meant to tame frizz and encourage curls at the same time. The Deva way of thinking is to stop fighting curl and to embrace it by making it look better than you ever imagined possible. Melanie, the salon owner, is the one Paragon staffer who is trained in the Deva cut. I found her to be polished, nice, a bit quiet, and very thoughtful and careful in the way she handled me and my hair. She was most definitely not a traditional chatty, gum-chewing, long fingernailed fashion diva wannabe. She paid attention to what I said and I did not cut too much or attempt to persuade me to change the style or color of my hair. Setting up the appointment was pleasant, Melanie was on time, and the receptionist was nice. The salon is comfortable but not flashy or overly luxurious. Melanie was able to trim and shape my hair without losing too much length and also the got rid of the scraggly bits at the center of my back, which I had due to a U-shaped cut. I left with incredibly curly, healthy-looking hair and a lot of excitement about trying the Deva way of life. Also worth noting is that my hair was just as curly the following morning (it usually flattens out quite a bit when I sleep on it). If you like or hate your curls, try Melanie and the Deva way of hair care!
