No taste.. prices are fair, country food, but needs some seasoning. Nice portions. Pageland doesn't have a lot to offer so it's safe.

Beth's Country Kitchen -- Pageland, South Carolina…read more If you're driving **Charlotte Myrtle Beach**, this spot is a **straight-shot, easy 3-mile detour** that's absolutely worth it. Beth's Country Kitchen sits on its **own lot with plenty of parking out front**, housed in a **quaint, no-nonsense metal building** that instantly tells you this place is about the food, not the frills. And that's exactly how a proper country kitchen should be. I stopped in on a **Tuesday in January**, and the **lunch buffet was straight-up banging**. ### Buffet highlights: * Crispy, well-seasoned **fried chicken** * **Beef and gravy** * **Mashed potatoes** and **rice** * **Mac and cheese** * **Field peas and snaps** (a personal favorite and not something you see everywhere) * Additional vegetables and sides * A **full salad bar** * **House-made desserts** Everything on the line looked -- and tasted -- **homemade**. Nothing felt mass-produced or rushed. This is the kind of food that reminds you of church dinners, family reunions, and Sunday tables. The atmosphere matches the food: **simple, country, welcoming**, and comfortable. Locals clearly know this place, and travelers are lucky when they stumble onto it. **Bottom line:** If you want real Southern country cooking, generous portions, easy parking, and a buffet that actually delivers -- **Beth's Country Kitchen is well worth the detour**. Highly recommended.

On stopped in here on Sun afternoon on the way to North MB. It was close to lunch time and Michelle…read morewas hungry for some Mex. We saw there was a 'drive-thru' window and decided to look at the menu and make and go/no go decision. The first red flag was there was no sign board for the menu or station to order. We drove around to the window and waited. It took a while for a young man to come to the window. Michelle asked 'can we order here at the window?" and the guy hesitated and said, 'yeah I guess you can do that.' He hands us TWO huge menus and then two smaller ones and says the small ones are the 'to go' menu's. I asked him why did he hands us the huge dine-in menus and he said 'in case you decided to dine-in'. I was not feeling it but Michelle was wanting Mexican so she ordered a couple of tacos and I ordered a burrito. Then the guy says 'can you drive around'? Michelle told me there was a car behind us. Then I realized what was going on. The drive-thru is for call in 'to go' orders ONLY. The guy made an exception for us, just being nice. BUT we ended up driving around FOUR times because there were people behind us and we were waiting on our food. After about 20 minutes we were on our way. My burrito was meh. Michelle said her taco was good but nothing special. What a WASTE of time on a road trip to the beach.
