Earlier this Summer I got myself into a bit of financial trouble on account of my love of Living Social deals. There are just so many good ones to choose from! This past June, when Comcast temporarily shut off our Internet and the City of Tigard hung a warning that our water would soon be shut off, I'd blown through our monthly budget purchasing: light therapy facials (TOTAL BUST!!!), 20 for $20 yoga classes (saving til the weather turns depressing), and a Monarch Medical Weight Loss Package. I realized when I purchased the Monarch deal that I wasn't the ideal candidate for a medical weight loss program. I mean, technically, I'm not overweight. However, I do fluctuate up & down around 30 lbs a year and my eating habits can be highly bizarre (think: fried chicken 3 days in a row, then nothing but cabbage soup for a week). I needed some guidance & accountability, solid nutritional advice and a manageable & sustainable dietary plan. I informed a few friends about my purchase and they all communicated the same message - I was a fool. I disagreed - at $125 for a $500 program, even if we had to bathe in Fanno Creek for the rest of the Summer, this was a STEAL. Friends who'd heard of Monarch told me that it's a cult, and that once you're in - you're in it for LIFE. My first impressions of the office weren't great. The waiting room doubles as a store front for the company's packaged foods. I read the labels and everything contained corn syrups & sugars, simple starches & tons of chemicals. For someone who grows a large portion of her own food & raises her own chickens for eggs - not very impressive! I immediately felt foolish because, other than the women working, I was the only non-obese person in the office. I wondered if I'd made a huge mistake and would be humiliated right back out the door. I was handed a headset, some notes and a pen, and seated at a computer for a recorded presentation on obesity, dieting, weight loss & weight management. Useful information delivered in a creepy, non-personal way. Next, I was led into a room where I was told I would not be a candidate for prescription weight loss pills, but that the B Shots included in the program would give me energy and make me happy. Awesome. I was weighed, measured, and poked in the butt with a B Shot. I then met the main doctor, and founder of the practice. I asked him if it was okay for me to be there, and he assured me that it was. I then explained my eating patterns and he told me they were the most unusual eating habits he'd ever heard of. He then explained the process of weight gain and loss via scientific terms & some hand-drawn graphs. He explained how these processes applied to my own eating habits and how to best control the processes through calorie counting & food choice. The doc explained that, because of my (normally) healthy food choices, I would not need to purchase the pre-packaged foods, but need to carefully measure portions & count calories. I got a binder of useful information and a punch card for 9 more B butt shots. 20 minutes or so after I left the office, the B shot kicked in and I had more energy than I'd felt in ages. I've been back about once a week since the initial appointment for a weigh-in & booster butt shot. I lost about 8 lbs total, though I've grown lazy about the small meals, and put back on a few. Still, should I again decide to be purposeful in my eating habits, I'm now armed with the information to do so safely & reasonably. I sincerely recommend this program to anyone who is serious about losing weight & maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I'm removing one star because I'd like to see people steered more towards a whole food diet, rather than all the gross pre-packaged stuff.

I saw the TV commercial for the regenerative clinic and I asked my doctor. She said not enough information not FDA approved.. and I said I'm in PAIN. the cortizone shot, shock wave therapy, electrical acupuncture, and massages. Nothing worked. Frozen shoulder is painful. . I made my appointment. Dr. Manning was doing the PRP injections. My elbow went against my rib cage and froze. Kind of scary, They sent me home in a sling. The next day, it released about noon. After my PRP injections, I've been accelerating healing. At night time, I woke me up to a tingling sensation instead of pain. I could feel it healing me. I went back and got my neck, tailbone, and lower shoulder. And then I had to go back and get the left side of my neck, I had bone spurs in my left side. they itched.. A full adjustment at the chiropractor's a breeze now. My spine is at phase 2. I've been rear-ended three times and once from the side. I'm grateful for PRP injections. Thank you to Dr. Manning and the crew at Oregon regenerative clinic. Robin Dorgan

Christa is absolutely great at making sure everyone feels comfortable and making the group a non competitive one. Running was hard at first but I quickly got hooked on it and looked forward to seeing my fellow troopers early mornings 3 days a week. The power of the group really works wonders for motivation, and christa is one of the best group leaders I've ever come across. She has an infectiously positive energy that permeates across more than just exercise. When I was struggling and looking for work, she kept me thinking positive and striving toward my goals. Something must've worked because I got my dream job! I'd recommend Fitlandia to anyone looking for a positive, healthy change - be it large or small.

First off, I'll say that this is a group that is in it to support fitness for the long haul. There is no "go till you drop" mentality - it is supportive, fun, and is designed to allow folks to safely and find their own appropriate challenge level. This is fitness with two awesome twists. The first twist is right in the tagline - a "subconscious twist" - and it's highly insightful. How many of our exercise and fitness decisions (and any decision, really) are driven by subconscious stories we tell ourselves? If you haven't thought much about this before, I'll spare you the suspense: A LOT! Fitlandia beautifully incorporates this aspect of ourselves into an overall fitness program that lasts for the long haul, not just until you can see your leg muscles again, or until you can fit in those pants, or until your wedding is over, or until you're bored or frustrated or whatever. The second twist is Christa King, the motivating, positive minded mastermind and cheerleader behind Fitlandia. She brings a diversity of experiences and an intuitive intelligence to take Fitlandia from a brilliant concept to a concrete fitness program that will change lives for the better. Needless to say, I'm sold.

(I previously…read morehad my left meniscus removed and my right one had a bucket tear that was very painful) I looked into flying to Europe for this procedure after my doctor telling me I need to have both knees replaced.I kept resetting looking for something more local and found ORM. I met with Dr Perterson and was very impressed with his knowledge and expertise. I made an appointment with him for the procedure and when I got there the office staff was very pleasant. The first thing they did was draw my blood which was done painlessly and quickly. After that I went in and had fat removed to get the stem cells needed for injection. After both the blood and stem cells were processed they numbed both of my knees and began the injection process. It was pretty simple with very little pain. I was able to walk to my car after the procedure and went home. Later that evening there was some pain and it was pretty hard for me to walk. Going up or down stairs was pretty much out of the question. I spoke to the office team and they told me to put heat on my knees and the pain went away in minutes. By the 2nd day I was able to navigate stairs and every day after that I saw improvement. One of the best things for me was within 3 days I was able to sleep through the night. I had gone 8 months of sleeping 15 minutes at a time moving and being in pain and waking up. Its great to be able to sleep again! After 2 weeks I'm able to walk without pain climb stairs and do most of my regular workouts. That brings me to my appointment today with Dr. Baker for PT. She was also excellent, talked to me about my progress showed me a bunch of exercises to continue to do and told me to keep using heat on my knees at least once a day. I feel so fortunate to have found ORM and had my procedure done there. I look forward to gaining strength and being able to do the things I love without pain!
