Imagine the joy of finding that one-of-a-kind art deco lamp that goes with your place so perfectly…read moreyou couldn't have designed something so perfect: I'm going for a blue peacock art deco theme. Just think how hard. It is to get the stars to align for this. A gorgeous art deco, petite, ceramic, art deco lamp. The seller had great reviews, , I paid $396.00 for it to ship from the Netherlands. No big deal I thought, my dad can easily rewire it and put a nice long cord on it. I was practically giggly when it arrived but but that quickly changed. It arrived broken and missing its head. My giggles quickly turned to tears. I messaged the seller. She felt terrible, my poor little lamp probably got manhandled in customs and lost the head. The seller felt terrible, she actually refunded all my money including shipping. That was a lovely gesture. I was determined to get the head restored. As I do with all projects I need done I ask Yelp. As always, Yelp did not let me down. As I recall, Jason at The Conservation Lab didn't reply to my quote request, I tracked him down. One art restorer quoted me $1000.00. Jason quoted me $275.00. I said yes immediately. I had actually poked around on his website and was really impressed with the quality of his work. Quite frankly I was shocked that an artist of his caliber was only charging me $275.00 for such a difficult job as recreating a ceramic head for my peacock lamp. But I'm grateful that someone like him is making art restoration accessible to people like me. I gifted him with a charcoal drawing I did. It took him about a month. This job was no small task. He sent me photos of the finished product. I was thrilled. It looked gorgeous. My dad picked it up to rewire it from EU wiring is USA wiring. My lamp came home yesterday, I put it in its place of honor and I plugged in. I just sat back and smiled. 2024 - Review #4

I thought, I'd look around, while getting my rings cleaned, but it was done before I had a chance to check, if they have any gold bracelet. . . . my intentions to buy sometimes this year, since my birthday is just around the corner. I was ready to leave, after I got my rings cleaned. But, the warmed of the room, and the friendliness of the staff, made me linger on and on, and on and on, and I didn't really want to go back out in the 40degree weather. More & more customers were coming in, and they're being helped, while hubby checked on his phone, and I was free to browse all I want. No pressures! Still not thinking of buying anything, there's no bracelet I wanted, but it was so fun looking through all the displays, that I can touch & gawk, or try on (I asked). UNTIL, hello! I found a display of gold paper clip style necklace, and I knew I wanted it... I told hubby: to attach my 2nd gold cross! It was something I needed, and the price was right. Well, I left wearing my new necklace, with a big smile!

Advice to Ms. Baggenstoss- If you don't have time to take on new clients then don't take it them on waste months of time and then drop them 4 days before the work was scheduled to be completed. It's unprofessional, it's a waste of my time and it's completely avoidable. Advice to readers- Be warned, you may spend months only to get nowhere and need to start again. Response: If Ms. Bagenstoss had been remotely apologetic in her cancellation email ( or made any previous mention of health issues or time constraints) I wouldn't have posted negative reviews. Indeed when I emailed her my response to the abrupt cancellation (essentially this review with a mention that I would leave negative reviews) her response in full was "Thank you!". Taking care of yourself and treating other people's time and energy respectfully are not mutually exclusive.
