I remember before we bid on that house, Dale positioned our expectations accordingly. "They're listing it low to spark a bidding war. This house could jump substantially." We told him our price cap and that we were unwilling to chase the price - Dale never pressured or urged us to go further than we were comfortable and he seemed content to let the process take as long as it needed to. This helped A LOT. I can't imagine having to go through this process with an agent tapping his foot and checking his watch. After we heard the news about the runaway house, I remember Dale reaching out with a smiling, gentle "how we doing, guys? The housing market can be rough, but they won't all be this bad."
